Travelled to Italy for the first time in 2018 spent most of my Christmas holiday in Rome but went to Sorrento for a few days. Absolutely loved it. Not crowded, it's got breathtaking views and i'd go there again and again. Thanks for sharing this, brings back lots of AMAZING memories.
My husband and I made our second trip to Europe from New Zealand in 2017. We started in Spain made our way through France and decided to have a "holiday" when we reached Sorrento. We stayed there relaxing, eating, walking, shopping for a week. We loved it.
We have been to Sorrento 3 times and we love it. Twice we stayed in the Hotel Meditteraneo, not quite in Sorrento but only a short bus ride and the view was spectacular and the last time we went we stayed in the heart of Sorrento. Each time was very enjoyable and we did day trips to Naples, Positano and Amalfi. Very enjoyable👍
The sorrento coast and the amalfi coast are part of the same mountain chain " Monti Lattari" milky mountains in english.....the sorrento coast is more flat and overlook the gulf of Napoli with the Vesuvio in the middle.....whlilst the Amalfi coast on the otherside overlook the gulf of Salerno and the coast line is very steep....so they both belong to the " Monti Lattari " to the same mountains chain !
I actually started rom Salerno (which I stayed for 1 night) after staying 3 nights in Napoli which included a day trip to Pompeii then from Salerno I stopped at Amalfi for a couple of hours, then went to Ravello and stayed for a short time, then headed to Positano for a couple of hours before finishing at Sorrento in the late afternoon where I stayed for 3 nights and did a day trip to Capri Island from there. The scenic view of Amalfi is stunning but I did actually enjoy Sorrento more
@@seyfettinkabacam9949 I think it can be done by boat stopping at certain places along the coast. I wouldn't recommend you driving along there but I actually hired a driver from Salerno and he took me to these places before dropping me off in Sorrento

Sorrento is beautiful and my husband and I definitely will spend a couple of days there next time because we drove from Positano there on our way back to Rome so we only spent about four hours there. Thanks for the tips on the restaurant.

I’m in Sorrento right now and loving it while I felt that Amalfi coast in general was a big let down. I liked the Ligurian cost so much more than Amalfi, the Cinque Terre was AMAZING 🥰
The Cinque Terre are beautiful, but they cannot compete with the Amalfi Coast, the Sorrento Peninsula, Capri, Ischia, Procida and other towns in Campania!
If you want to avoid stress do not rent a vehicle especially in the Summer. Take a bus or ferry instead! :) Also, yes you save money by traveling in the off-season but you also miss the great experiences of the Summer etc...
Guys on summer i would like to see Positano and Amalfi! Which place is better for base? Salerno or Sorento? And generaly wich is better for beaches etc?
Hey! That will be an amazing summer plan 😍 We don’t know which one is better as we didn’t visit Salerno, but Sorrento is definitely an amazing option. The Amalfi Coast is not the best for beaches as they are generally rocky, but still really enjoyable. Sorrento has quite a few swimming spots. The smaller Italian cities are super cool. We always looking for those. In most cases you can go to them by train, prices are much lower, and in many cases there are no crowds. ;)
@@NALBATRAVELS I remember when we arrived in Catania, Sicily earlier this year. This city doesn't have much to offer, it's terribly dirty. At the same time, 1-2h train ride one way or the other down the coast and we hit mega charming little towns on the hills of a volcano. Amazing.
Very interesting to see Sorrento in the closed season. Been there many times but in the summer when it is very hot and busy. I noticed there were no parasols down on the beach front 🤣
Haha yes!! I saw the photos of Sorrento in the summer with the parasols and honestly it looks busy but amazing 😍 We hope to be able to visit another time during high season.

Thanks for watching ☺️ Yes we did a day trip to the Amalfi Coast that we organised ourselves (video here: th-cam.com/video/AhILQNOiqSI/w-d-xo.html ) and visited Pompeii during our stay in Napoli but it’s super close to Sorrento so you can definitely also do the day trip from there ( Pompeii vídeo here: th-cam.com/video/L_BCooCGbEU/w-d-xo.html )
I did Sorrento for a week some years ago and we visited Pompeii climbed Mount Vesuvius’s ! and spent a day in Capri. Capri is beautiful and well worth a visit. Vesuvius is a difficult climb especially in the heat but glad I did it (with my daughter). If going to Pompeii I would recommend a sun umbrella or similar as there is no shade and in July it could be around 90 degrees - we went in August. We did it all independently which we found easy to do, train and bus is very easy to use. Sorrento is the best place I have ever been. Hope you enjoy it
Hi, what's the weather like in March ? Am planning to go there next March. Are those ferries running from Sorrento to Amalfi coast towns in March ? It seems the bus is not very convenient.
Hey! Our video was recorded in March so you can see that it was chilly as we’re wearing coats but not extremely cold. The ferries are not running at that time of the year I believe.

Great video! How do I get to Sorrento from Naples? I’ve heard the circumvosuviana is an option but the campania express is another option. Which is better?
Thank you! Glad you found it useful 😊 So both the circumvusuviana and the compania express leave from the same place. The only difference is that the express is like 20 mins faster, and the ticket is more expensive. For us it wasn’t worth it paying the extra price to just save 20 mins, but depends on your schedule as well as I think the circumvesuviana might run a little less often! You can check all time tables at the station in Naples 😊
Whaaaaaaat? 45 eur for the night? I hope its a joke, because we were this summer and prices were about 200 at small towns near Sorrento and 500-1000 at Amalfi and Positano
We were ridiculously lucky! This was when most people were either in Lockdown or just not risking traveling, so we did get better prices. Also, nowadays with inflation everything just became much more expensive
