The Rolex Yacht-master was first introduced in 1992 as reference 16628 and in 1994, a lady’s version became available as reference 69628. Then, in 2007 the Rolex Yacht-Master II Regatta with a 10-minute countdown function was unveiled.
As the Rolex Daytona is inextricably linked to car racing, so the Yacht-Master is linked to sea-faring. Sir Francis Chichester single-handedly circumnavigated the earth during 1966 and 1967, wearing a Rolex Oyster watch - the precursor to the Yacht-Master.
