I live and drive in this damn city everyday, why am I watching this?? Cool video though, almost like Edmonton, Frogger style when it's sped up like that.
Thanks for watching and commenting. It was a good day in comparison to what I usually put up with. Never thought of the frogger thing... but you are right... lol
I would’ve thought Edmonton would be a bit more hilly and bumpy? It seems very flat, almost as (but not even close) as flat as Winnipeg! Like, where’s all the mountains.?
+sXeCanadianBoy What you guys need is less over passes and more traffic lights!... oh wait... never mind... it is nice here now that we have discovered what over passes are. Plus our ring road does not rattle your bones ever 50 feet... or have they fixed that?
+Driving Edmonton and area nothing gets done in Winnipeg, but I don't care about the roads - the weather just tears them up. I hate Winnipeg because there are so many homeless people (including children) and nobody seems to give a shit. Until something is done to fix the social problems, making us "One Great City" there is no need to think about roads and traffic lights. Affordable housing needs to come first.
Circling like a vulture... The joys of trying to find a parking spot close by. My tool pouchs weighs over 70 pounds plus I generally need to get parts from the van once I evaluate the problem(s). And I am lazy!...
Matthew Barry Sorry but youtube refuses to let me "reply" to your comment so I have to do it this way. As it states in the preamble of this video, this is just one day, a very typical day I might add, of me driving around for work. I really don't get to choose what part of the city my service calls take me to. I will suggest to my employer that they try to find clients in the more beautiful parts of the city so I can make a more suitable video to promote the city. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Question .. At 1:26 the guy with red truck cuts the single yellow line on the road to join the traffic on the road. Is it legally permissable to do this in Canada ? Doesn't he has to make a U Turn to find a gap and then turn ? Here in Europe he will get a ticket for doing this !!
That is perfectly legal here. If it were a double solid line it would be illegal. As far as U turns go... they are illegal at all controlled intersections.
Driving Edmonton and area ok thanks for clearing . I will be coming to US and Canada next month and renting a car over there, so surely an important rule to know. Could you please explain what do u mean by U turn prohibited at all controlled intersection or is there anything else i need to know driving in north america ? Thanks a lot !!
A controlled intersection is any intersection that has lights, stop signs or yield signs to control the flow of traffic. The "fun" thing about driving in North America is every province in Canada and every state in the USA has different rules. For instance Ontario allows U turns unless specified other wise. Most of the main driving rules are the same as pretty much every where in the world. It never hurts to google the province or state you are visiting and give the regs a quick glance over. For the most part I am sure you will be fine.
+Driving Edmonton and area It's pretty interesting how that is, you would think that a simple drive over a provincial border would be no big deal but you really do have to look up traffic laws before you travel here. I can't say as much for the States as I haven driven there yet but in Canada it is definitely true. In Montreal, for example, you cannot turn right on a red light whereas here you can as long as the intersection doesn't prohibit it, and as far as I know that is just in the city of Montreal, not even in the rest of Quebec! Us Canadians is whack!
Being as this could be watched be the world, why did you drive around the most boring parts of edmonton? South side/millwoods ugh! at least you went downtown for a bit, should have took a drive around the river valley parts. Edmonton has some really nice spots. I no longer live there, but its still home to me and it needs all the help it can get.
I used to do fence and deck in edmonton so basically I'm all over the place. Kinda miss edmonton driving now I'm back in my home country
I am happy to see Edmonton again :) Thanks!
You are very welcome. Thanks for watching!
Funny how a random timelapse of driving around the city can be entertaining. Is it the music? Could be. Could be that I just like Timelapses.
In this case I am sure it is the music!
Very nice video. Thanks for posting. Edmonton is a beautiful city.
+Dwayne Wladyka Thanks for watching.
Driving Edmonton and area You are very welcome!
Edmonton looks huge
Looks are deceiving. It has less than one million people. However the city sprawls out over 684 km²
+Driving Edmonton and area I'm from Saskatoon though, so it's big for me. Biggest thing I'm hesitant about is the traffic!
Noel Aito It is the capital city of Alberta
Really nice video! I love seeing local videos like this. I wish I could drive like that! lol
It have been almost 4 years since I left Canada, I miss Edmonton!!
I'm moving to Edmonton in 2 months! This was nice tour for me!! I'm excited!
Edmonton is a beautiful city! I love the view over downtown at 5:00
I have lived here 99.9% of my life. I guess I like it too!

Graal Era Radio edmonton is very flat, just like Winnipeg. Mountains are still a couple hours west of us.
Looks like paradise compared to Winnipeg!

Randomly stumbled on this video. We live in the same neighborhood hahaha.
I'm moving to Edmonton from Wisconsin in 2018.
Looks a lot like Toronto
Edmonton has less than a million people, so it's not as big as Toronto.
Bit of a "Groundhog Day" moment @ 7:20-7:50

There are a few bigger ones coming in the next few years... The city is finally growing UP...
