For $70 dollars it is a great deal. For the guys with 3d printers this would be a great unit to mod. First the remote could be put in a new 3d printed case where the tread control buttons all face front and back, one rocker button for the left tread and 1 rocker button for the right side. Other mods would be adding a sound sample chip for talking and then add mouth lights to track the sound sample. Other advanced mods would be to use a different remote with more control channels so that N20 gear motors could be placed in the arms to raise and lower them and rotate the forearms. Very cool kit. Thank you for sharing with us.
@Robothut I would love to see a really cool remote controlled version of Johnny 5. All the things you mentioned would be fantastic to have included. The voice, mouth lights, moving arms moving eye brows like in the movie. I love this kit except for the weird way the did the remote buttons functions.
@@outsider238 I looked on line and saw they did the APP control with the same weird track control. What were they thinking? I guess they used a existing IR remote and app.
Just got to the end of your video,😂 that's exactly what I am doing. Buying blu rays or dvd, and buying or trying to find something extra to add to my collection, comic books, toys, something cool.
I love the movie like come on like the beginning where they demonstrate like all the tanks and stuff too but I also do really like like when you get like when he makes a clone of himself in pretends that he is not alive but in reality Johnny 5 is still alive😊😊😊😊😂😂😂😂😂
@@kelvington4182 I am too! This was better than I was expecting. Fun and sometimes challenging to build and it looks and works really great once he's built.
Just finished building this. I was missing a few pieces and that kind of ruined the build for me because it happened early on during bag one. So I was constantly worried that some more important piece might be missing during the rest of the build. Thankfully they were cosmetic and not obviously missing. Also this moves a lot better on carpet as the treads have better traction. And yes that remote makes no sense. They must have copied it from some other set.
@@pittsburghboyertown3821 I'm sorry to hear you were missing some pieces. I was concerned about that as well. I think you can contact the company for them to send you the pieces you're missing. Yeah, that remote is really goofy.
Hey man! Ive ordered some things from Vonado about a week ago, how long did they take to respond to you? I mean I've sent them a few support emails asking for any update or confirmation besides the automated receipt but haven't gotten anything... They don't seam very active now so I'm just a little worried. Anyways, it was fun to watch you build Johnny, always loved the movie
@moloch1492 I got this from Amazon so they sent it in two days. I'm assuming Vonado is a Chinese company. I'm not sure. So their shipping times are very slow a lot of times. I have some building sets from another theme and another company coming from China that's taking about two weeks now and I still haven't got them.
@@moloch1492Oh that's great! Yeah shipping from China is incredibly slow. Plus it has to go through customs that take forever as well. Those other sets I'm waiting on for over a month now are still in transit. 🙄
Johnny 5 is awesome! I loved it when he got pissed off and his optics turned red 🤩😡😂
@Movie-Collectibles Oh yeah! I haven't seen it since it first came out so I'm going to watch it tonight which should be a fun walk down Memory Lane!

@Robothut Yeah I really have never seen a remote control work that way. It's really awkward to use. Other than that, the kit is great! 😁
Thank you for mentioning that even if the bags has numbers, they are all a mess 😅 I was trying to realize what was going on. Got it today
That confused me. Why did they bother to number the bags when it's not built in order? Oh well, the result is awesome! 😁
@@outsider238 i just finish the whole thing and some little parts fall apart. i am considering using krazy glue to keep it together 😂
@danjimenez2189 That's a good idea. It's better than losing the pieces. Good job getting it all built! 😁
@outsider238 my finger tips still ache
@danjimenez2189 Haha! Yeah after a couple of hours I definitely have to take a break! 🤣😅
You could add a laser pointer into the weapon part, and motorise it.
Oh! That would be cool!!

@josephdomonkos I still love having the physical media. It's not always available online. 😁

It's much bigger than i thought
@zockeromi1970 Same here! I was thinking it was going to be about 1/3 smaller. It's really a great set! 😁

Is it worth the money. It’s £83:99 on Amazon uk.
I think it's a great set except for the way the remote works. Everything else about it is awesome!
That was wicked fun. I'm shocked how closely he moves compared to the movie one.

That is pretty cool. I got a lego-ish model kit off of Temu of Johnny 5. It isn't motorized though.
@@joeleustice There's quite a few different ones from a lot of different companies. I'm amazed at how many there are. I'd like a metal one!

That wheel would be easy enough to make swivel like the real one
Yes, a mod to it would be great. I wish it was accurate to begin with. But it's still very cool.
