Sultan Suleiman has a serious heart attack. The doctors cannot promise about his health. Everyone gets worried that he's ill. It is hard for especially Hurrem to accept this. Hurrem decides that it doesn't have a meaning to live without Sultan Suleiman. All the relationships in harem goes through hard times.
Ibrahim and Hatice get ambushed by the men of the dervish lodge. Ibrahim gets in a difficult fight to be able to save his family. The men takes Hatice as hostage. Ibrahim needs to make a tough decision to be able to save Hatice.
Bali Bey and Aybige get cut off by the ships of Ottoman Empire. The two of them finds them in front of the gates of Topkapı Palace again. However, it won't be good for them for this time.
At the age of 26, when he ascended to the throne, Sultan Suleiman aimed to build an empire more powerful than Alexander the Great and to render the Ottomans invincible. Throughout his 46-year reign, he became the greatest warrior and ruler of both East and West.
The young Suleiman received news of his succession to the throne during a hunting party in 1520. Unaware that he would be ruling a reign beyond his dreams, he left behind his wife son and took to the road with his close friend and companion Pargali Ibrahim to reach the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul. As they started their journey overland, an Ottoman ship set sail from Crimea in the Black Sea, bringing female slaves as gifts for the Ottoman palace… On this ship was Alexandra La Rossa, the daughter of a Ukrainian Orthodox minister, taken away from her family and sold to the Crimean palace. She had no idea that she would become Hurrem, wife of Sultan Suleiman and mother of princes, ruling the empire with him through bloodshed and intrigue.
As Sultan Suleiman conquered the world, his great passion for Hurrem would clash with his love for and trust in his closest friend and advisor, Grand Vizier Pargali Ibrahim, all set against the backdrop of the tension between Christian Europe and the Ottoman Empire in the 16th century.

She made the mistake of saying Hurem would die after watching her children die, she didn't realize Suliman's was hearing her as she reveals her true face.
To a certain point, this is actually fairly accurate to what would be occuring behind the scenes if the sultan fell seriously ill. It even makes sense that Hafsa would wish to keep Hürrem's children safe as, currently, Mustafa has no sons and therefore no heir but them.
Mahidevran says only because of one mistake, you're the most victim. first you beat Hürrem black and blue, then you poison Hürrem's food, your Gülşah tries to stab Hürrem. You poisoned everyone's minds to hate Hürrem and always said Hürrem hurt you

Suleiman would forgive Mahidevran if he would love her, but he didn't.
@@ankina86 Suleiman did love her, even if perhaps the strength of such emotions were fading, but, after her actions, informed her that she had "killed" their love through doing such things. A claim that, given how the poison incident could have taken out himself and his unborn son, I can't entirely blame him for.

The reason Mustafa got killed is Mahidevran. It was obv that she was after the throne and everyone saw it a couple of times. she even tried to get into his sons mind so ofc Suleyman would think that Mustafa is after his throne. she is the reason of her own sons death by acting amateur and stupid
For anyone still defending Mahidevran and condemning Hurrem, watch this clip again. When Suleyman was dying, Hurrem was only thinking of him and her children's safety. She wasn't plotting to get rid of Mustafa or finding a way to get Mehmed on the throne. She was living only for the love of her family and was prepared to die with them rather than live one day without them. Meanwhile, Mahidevran didn't waste a single second trying to seize power and exert control over the empire, even going over her son's head. She again dismissed all of her murder attempts as "a single mistake" that "ruined her life." Nothing was ever her fault. She was always the victim. She took zero accountability. In other words, she was a professional gaslighter. She even lied to her son, who she claimed was the only thing she was fighting for. In reality, Mustafa was always just a tool for her to get power. A one-way ticket to the top even though she wanted for nothing. If she had given birth to a daughter instead, she would have discarded her. Mahidevran bankrupted the harem, treated her servants like garbage, and tried to murder anyone who she thought was treading on her authority. And unlike Hurrem, she never suffered any consequences for her actions. The lowest she ever went was looking into Hurrem's eyes with a sick, satisfied smile as she promised that she would slowly torture Hurrem by murdering her children right in front of her. She took delight at the thought of killing innocent children, knowing it would break her son's heart and she'd lose him forever...and she didn't care one bit. That is the sign of a born narcissist, sociopath, and egomaniac.
Mahidevran never had the class, loyalty and respect to be compared to Hurrem, just as in the series also in the real history. Filled with the fantasy of having her son as the crown prince, and desperately waiting for the moment to kill Hurrem and her children without reason. Hurrem had to survive, that’s why i never judge her actions. Mahidevran always having the mentality to grow hate on her son towards his siblings, while Hurrem teached her children to treat the big brother with respect. Mahidevran got what she deserved in the end, karma is real.

Well her greatest suffering was to live longer in poverty and destitute full of heartbreak and pain but good thing Sultan Selim 2 helped her in the end and elevate her status.

The main issue was the sultan himself; he should have been with just one woman, not hundreds of them. Any woman in that position would do the same, because in the palace, you could only survive if you were the sultan's favorite or if your son was the sultan. During that era, survival for women was challenging.
To be honest i am surprised that Mustafa expected his mother to still love Suleiman
I mean, to a point, it depicts the unfortunate disconnect that could occur between those that were the victims of the system and those that had had it normalized, but I don't think the show intends for that.
Why wouldn’t he… she keeps crying that sulaiman ignires when she loves him so much… so she should be thinking of his recovery and not about the the thronr
@@sara.svathi Eh, while I'm not about to claim that she did it with grace (murdering Hürrem's children when no other heirs exist is a horrible strategic move), how Mahidevran moves to secure her son's ascendancy in case the worst happens is 100% realistic and understandable for that time period.
Lol she talked behind his back and announced herself as valide sultan, I mean that's more than 'mustafa expected his mother to still love suleiman' I don't think that's what Mustafa expected, he expects mahidevran to be loyal to him and that's all.
When Mustafa goes to Sanjak, Mahidevran expected Fatma to be okay with Mustafa sleeping with his harem. When she in fact was not okay with Hurrem and the Sultan. She's a hypocrite and so is her son!!!

If Suleiman had died then, Ibrahim and Mustafa might have survived after all and they could have easily destroyed their enemies. Too bad for her that she was most of the time too blinded by her love for Suleiman and her rage for Hurrem, because this scene shows that as soon as she sets her feelings aside and focus on her son, she can be quite cunning and lucid.
Mahidevran was a fool. Ibrahim died because of Mahidevran. Hurrem never intended to harm anyone. Its they who started this.
This is ridiculous, Mahidebran tries to murder Hurrem and her unborn child. The son of the sultan. Then she tries to act like the Valide sultana and she doesn’t get executed what happens to whoever does harm to royal member will be executed. Time after time they leave her with no punishment. But Hurrem is falsely accused of murder and also al,ost. murdered many times and she is the one who gets punished severely and thrown out of the castle.

@@SphireSphire Her feelings and refusal to put them aside to protect her son got him killed so who really got the unfair share of the consequences ? She had a right to her feelings but she should have been wise enough to protect her son by NOT making him take part in those feelings and making him bitter towards his father thus poisoning that relationship to the point that Suleiman felt so threatened by him that he felt no choice but to kill him. Notice Hurrem was absolutely resolute that her children always respect their father and never ever dare start any disagreement with him no matter what ..even on her behalf . She by comparison even firmly told off her daughter Mihrimah over her angry on her mother's behalf " her or me ! " ultimatum to her father which potentially risked that relationship over his relationship with Firuze. . The point is Hurrem protected her children by not giving them any reason or allowing them to even think about falling out with their father.

@@Lina-v5p Mahidevran was too power hungry and far too arrogant that Mustafa would become Sultan. She proclaimed herself Valide when Suleiman was sick and threatened Hurrem that her children would be executed once Mustafa ascended the throne . She tried to put a wedge between him and his half siblings to further her agenda. She made Mustafa too arrogant in giving him the belief he would be Sultan thus he made serious mistakes that made Suleiman believe he was coming after the throne. She also allowed him to take on her own issues with the harem politics as well as with Suleiman and Hurrem which further drove a wedge between him and his father. Her actions finally led to her losing both her and Mustafa's most loyal supporters in Ibrahim and Valide . These actions forced Hurrem's hand and even helped her to get rid of him for her children's sake . They more importantly put serious doubt in Suleiman's mind about Mustafa which led to his execution. Mahidevran WAS a large part of her son's downfall.
Both women knew that Sultan is having a polygamous relationship. They accepted it. But still wanted him entirely.

Hurrem escaped Isabella via sea route, back to her country. Suleiman knew about this, hence Hurrem wasn't punished.
Hurrem offered Isa help to escape from Istanbul, Isa refused as she wanted to be Ottoman Queen.
So Hurrem was going to get Isa infected with plague. But Ibrahim sent Isa poison through Nigar, so Suleiman will kill/exile Hurrem for murder.
But, only Isabella's servant died. This made Isa afraid of harem politics enough to take Hurrem's help to escape.
Very brief scenes, so easy to miss.

I think Suleiman was the biggest traitor to Ottoman Empire..... Mustafa his son who love him most and during his life he doesn't even want to think about his father death .... Mustafa doesn't even think to hurt his siblings and hurrem ... But very pity Suleiman himself killed his own son who love him most....and today's hurrem and his children make a very deadly plan to kill Prince Mustafa except beyazid and chiangir... So sad for Mustafa he always have a love for his siblings... But all these make plan to kill him... May you rest in peace Prince Mustafa 😢
the show did not show a few things , mustafa really comitted the treason and wanted to overthrow the king in the reality. they are royal family not an ordinary household where the relations are just power based and no love between members. sons killed their fathers for the throwns. by this we can understand the relations in westren and middle eastren rulers. so, don't think it in today ordinary family POV but in the medivial time POV
accurately the ottomans' law said. when a prince become a sultan he suppose to ki ll all his brothers and once a sultan killed 19 brothers so in this series it is not said like that they love mustafa and try to defend but historically can't blame any side either hurrem lose all her kids or mustafa ana mahdivran also mahidvran is suspected to kill 2 of Soliman kids before mustafa called mahmoud and murad one of them is ulfat khadija's friend as well as mehmet the son of hurrem surprisingly all die the same way chickenpox and mainly suliman blame them for that

Hurrem never once in this entire series claimed to be an angel. Matter of fact when Suliman ask her if she had anything to do with the execution of Mustafa. She said that she herself WAS NOT sinless. That no one in that palace was sinless not EVEN HIMSELF. That over the years she did what she had to just like he did what he had to do. If he wanted something to be this way then she wanted the same because his will was absolute as the ruling Sultan ''the leaves will not fall from trees if you do not want it". She was reminding him as polite and subtle as possible that he gives the ORDER for anything and everything. That NOTHING that can happen WILL happen unless he says so. Even the execution of his own.

Sultan Ahmed said in the beginning of Magnifcent Centery : Kosem that being a Ottoman prince wasn't the privileged existance it was believed to be as it meant either asending the throne or death. You either end up becoming Sultan and kill your brother or he becomes Sultan and kills you is the awful reality they must live with. Everyone must do as they must and no one is a saint because the very structure of their life in the empire doesn't allow it.

You do realize it was in fact Mahidevran herself who initially put the target on her son's back that lead to his death with her very actions here . She foolishly and inappropriately made no secret of her greed and desire for power in making plans for her son grabbing the throne even before Suleiman is dead thus putting the thought and fear out there that Mustafa could go after the throne and what would happen if he got it. She openly and with relish proclaimed her intent to have Hurrem's children killed before killing her.. so of course Hurrem from that point went on the defensive and protected her children from suffering that fate even if it took killing Mustafa. Suleiman never really trusted Mustafa after that and even had nightmares about Mustafa seizing the throne and killing all of his half siblings including Mihrimah and Hurrem because of this.

She is not guilty anyway mahidevran was humiliated Infront of everyone due to Suleiman ignorance towards her.... From the very first day hurrem tried and even fight to gain power and wealth then what's wrong if mahidevran wishes for a bright life with her son although she is not reason of Suleiman's illness but only Suleiman is the only reason of mahidevran's sorrows in her whole life ... She had right to dream about power and above all she never tried to kill Suleiman or make him ill she is just thinking about the consequences if ALLAH's will occur and as a mother she have right to think like that as other mothers do ... How can you agree with Mahidevran. She made a grave mistake, she openly threatened Hurrem and her children while Suleiman lays in the bed. She constantly throws her son being the oldest in Hurrems face. She’s the reason Mustafa had a target on his back. Not to mention she lies about everything, bullies Hurrem and most of the time she gets away with it. The Sultan is still alive the worse thing Mustafa could’ve done was kill his brothers. Also Mustafa had no sons yet so she would kill the only heirs!?! And what would happen if Suleiman wakes up after his children are killed??

This is before Mustafa is exucuted but it starts the slow slide of his downfall with Sulieman. Sulieman awakes with the knowledge of how power hungry , greedy and vengeful his mother Mahidevran is, thus seeds of doubt about him are placed that begin to sprout. Really this was Mahidevran in effect ending her dream of power and vengence towards Hurrem as Valide Sultan by being unwisely premature about her plans until the time was approprite to act on them as Ibrahim was trying to tell her .
