I’m Muslim, not very religious although I do love and respect my religion and I do believe in Allah. I was always fascinated by the Ottomans in general, not just because they had one of the most successful and long-lasting empires in history. Sultan Mustafa’s death is absolutely heartbreaking (2:20), imagine living 34 years in one room and die so young, like sultan Ahmed for example, he died when he was only 27. And Mustafa only had to live like that because his mother tried to dethrone Ahmed (Mustafa’s older brother). In my opinion, his mother should’ve payed for the sin of trying to kill the sultan since Mustafa was still a child when that happened. But yet he was the one who payed for his mother’s sin. I’m also watching Kösem (a Turkish TV show about the Ottoman Empire) which is why I know all of this (10/10 would recommend to everyone btw). I also learned some turkish words along the way.

I am wondering how Ertugrul and Osman would have felt if they had known their Empire they worked so hard to create would result in future greedy Sultans, and conspiring family members. Just looking at the strangling of sons done by law, and the poisoning is enough to throw a big shadow on a empire that could have been truly great. Wondering when the kidnapping of women started in order to create the harem? Empires always fall when they become so decadent and rich. just to survive in the harem would have been so consuming with the constant need to be the favourite of the Sultan or to have a son. Not so glorious.
You are misinterpreting events because of your incomplete information. A Fight for the Throne can happen in any empire. Only the Ottomans continued to rule for 620 years thanks to the system they applied. In the harem, not everyone lives for the Sultan. Shows don't reflect reality. Harem is a school and also serves as an educated wife to Commanders, Statesmen and ambassadors. In order to enter the harem, a woman should not be beautiful, smart, lucky and Turkish noble. It is a serious institution that gives chance and opportunity to talented people.
In Ertugrul you also see people betraying people close to them because of others that try to gain power through influencing events. Even one of the most respected people like Sultan Aladdin was killed by his half brother and his wife. His wife wanted his eldest son to be the sultan but Aladdin considered his younger son to be the better choice. Often people working for the sultan who disagree with certain decisions that could impact the empire betray the sultan and use one of the offsprings as their 'puppet' to lead the country to their ideal vision. Often their intention aren't bad but the way they go for it is. Like Halil Pasha (a commander of the sultan) didn't want to conquer Istanbul because he thought they didn't have the power. However, Fatih Sultan Mehmet thought otherwise and really wanted to have preparations done of it. To avoid that, Halil Pasha did his best to get the previous sultan back to the throne, in which he succeeded. After said sultan died, he tried his best to kidnap Mehmet's little brother to mold him into the sultan he wants him to be. Thought the brother took his life in order to avoid infights in the Ottoman empire. Because of that event, if I recall correctly, after a new sultan is crown, the other siblings are executed to avoid them being used as tools against the current sultan. It may sound inhuman but for the sake of the empire that is a sacrifice sultans have to make.
Not all of them were great and most of them were cruel and had no mercy., they valued the throne way more than any family member. In Europe there were some mercyless rulers too, but it can't be compared to the what nearly every sultan did. (I'm not referring only to the fractricide, but in general they were mercyless)

Sultan Mehmet II ( The Conqueror ) Fateh Istanbul ❤️❤️
He was the best

That reminds me the Praetorian Guard killing the Roman Emperors
Elite Guards, Bad News
Great People, may Allah grant them Jannah...
not all of them
Not all of them were great and most of them were cruel and had no mercy., they valued the throne way more than any family member. In Europe there were some mercyless rulers too, but it can't be compared to the what nearly every sultan did. (I'm not referring only to the fractricide, but in general they were mercyless)

The Ottoman Empire had some incredibly capable rulers but let's face it,they are all also huge memes.Especially:Bayezid I,Yavuz Selim and Murad IV.
Whats with murad 4?he is one of the best sultan
Also selim II
Ottoman Sultans: exist
Gout: I'm about to end this man's whole career
long live II. ABDÜLHAMİD KHAN
Love Turkey, all Turk Countries, and Ottoman Empire from Pakistan..
Hey man this is brilliant! :) Keep up the good work.
Gout doesn't kill. It's very painful but it's not deadly. As for edema, it may be an indication of heart disease. Since some of them died young chances are they were poisoned.
Not quite right. Gout can cause lethal kidney failure.
If those damn janisaries wouldnt have killed those sultans the empire would have lasted longer
When they used to kill them it was usually because of a bad sultan who might cause problems
When you are Turkish and have been taught the history of Ottomans 4 years in a row through middle and highschool but some TV series fan such as Ertuğrul or Magnificent Century tries to teach you about Ottomans. 🥱
That is why it's called Historical Fiction..
imagine you are German and are taught how evil you used to be every history lesson. Very 'fun'.
It's funny but sad at the same time watching a great empior fall
THANK U SO MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO.....
The closest people can be your worst enemy.
This is what caused the ottoman empire to fall apart
Wow talk about a dangerous position. Also crazy how they had absolute power yet most barley reigned at all. Modern politicians even had longer reigns.
Gout vs sultans.
Gout won
Gout doesn't kill though. It was probably something else. I suspect it was poisoning and gout was used as an excuse.
Perfect video bro

Atleast show respect and show the father of all this m8. Ertugrul ghazi
Well he wasn't a sultan, but I agree. Without him, no ottoman empire or Turkey.

I love how there's a 'death by gout era' and a 'death by edema' era, just like the phases of the Ottoman Empire.
Sultan Suleiman died of grief for the hurrem Sultan
Nah stop saying things out of emotions give me sources that says that
Don't say assumptions
You telliing me he didnt feel grief of his best friend like brother or did not felt grief when he killed his two sons !??
You telling me he get grief and dieeee by it because of hurrem death ??
Ohhh plzzz
The prolonged internal rebellion made the Ottomans lose focus on developing their firearms, until the allies of Russia, Great Britain and France, who had been eyeing Ottoman territory for a long time, attacked the Ottomans using more modern firearms, of course.utfuft
Nice video but there are the false ones -Sultan Murad III died from Prostate cancer
-Mehmed IV died from Pneumonia
-Murad II died from Brain tumor or Hemorrhage
-Ahmed III died from Diabeties
-Abdülhamid I died from Stroke because of Ottoman failures during Russo-Turkish war.
Ant Tagra Akhalil yeah
Very informative video thanks buddy

Greatest Ottoman Sultans IMO.
1. Sulieman (Brought upon the Golden Age)
2. Selim I (Land expansion, and acquired the leadership of Sunni Islam)
3. Mehmed II (Capture of Constantinople)
4. Osman I (Laid the foundations for the Ottoman Beylik)
5. Murad II (Revived the Ottoman Empire. Very Underrated IMO)
6. Bayezid I (Lightening expansion)
Good choices, but I think sultan Abdul majid should be on the list too
Imo selim made the empire stable and expanded it the most. He was the Sultan everyone feared therefore his son Suleiman hot a stable empire and therefore had no problem. You should also include Murad IV who also revived the sultanate
Suleiman is boy version of Kosem
Kosem is girl version of Suleiman...
they are both magnificent....
Hell yeah 😂 she was the boss in the Ottoman Empire lol 😂 but Mehmet 2 was the best he conquered almost all of the empire even Istanbul it was previously known as Constantinople
Lol, Kosem killed his own son.
@@rehenabegum3056 and so did suleiman only difference is kosem killed only her incompetent son ibrahim while suleiman killed two of his competent sons and made a drunkard his heir
This video is made to joke around a successful rein of rulers who were dubbed ... Rulers of seven seas....hats offffff to Ottomans
I am sure it wasn't with a bad intent. This is a pass over a lot of ruler deaths without bigger explanation, so an animated music is not that bad

What the name of the music
The fact that Sultan Selim II slipped on wet marble flooring while chasing a woman in the bath lol
And where did from ottoman came??? From ertugul ghazi ❤️❤️
No from osman
It actually came from Osman ghazi or Osman 1
@@mohammedbasit7560 ertergul is Osman's dad
@@hosniesarah6427 than Sulaiman Sha is also ertugrul dad
Ottoman empire came from Osman and that's the starting point because Osman led the foundation of Ottoman after the fall of Seljuk and during the time of Ertugrul Seljuk (Sultanat of Rum) was in power
Amazing video as always but why did some sultans from sultan murad 2nd onwards have 2 different reigns in charge? Why was there a gap?
That means there was a coup or civil war ,, and then they got there thrown back again
Sultan Murad II abdicated but was brought back by a Janissary rebellion, which is why both he and his son had 2 reigns. Mustafa was deposed twice coz he was a puppet and couldn't rule at all due to mental disabilities.
This is probably the most unintentionally funny history related video I've ever watched 😆😆😆🤚🏾

How did so many Sultans die from gout? You'd think it would stop after the fourth time.
Eating too much meat, and lacking of exercise.. 😁
@@shakuntaladevimatahari5047 In fact, they were doing some kind of exercise. In the 19th century, the sultans usually fought and ruled in war themselves, and this kept them in pace, and meat was the most important thing in Ottoman cuisine, there was meat in almost every meal.
