Great cast, I really loved watching this one. I'm a zerg main who is always frustrated by protoss, So to watch the Zerg player get pushed back into his main, and then execute his revenge with the guardians was amazing. I loved this one, probably my favorite match that I've seen from you so far. Thanks for doing these man, these are great
I am the same way. I’ve been playing this game on the computer since it started. I took a break for about 10 or 15 years. And now I’m playing people who are way better than I am. I only have a 25% win rate and I imagine kids a lot younger than myself for calling me a noob. LOL
when even pro played 30+ minutes on fastest map you definatly can see that they start to become tired - control become worse, apm lowers, reaction time increasing, so for long games its not only who better player is, its who has more game endurance. Ofcourse Usually better player is more endurance he has for long games. In this game we can actually see how P simple tired after 35+ minutes of unstop attempts of breaking Z defence, Z actually simple endured all this attempts. Good game, pleasant to watch, this time more than just breakfast video))
It felt to me like Mong kinda phoned it in after LuckyBack finally pushed him out of his base--he had so much bank but was just not producing units and his attacks felt half-hearted.
I absolutely love scouts. They are my favorite flying unit. I love their speech, stats, how microable they are. Because Blizard programmers made them so expensive you cant really loose them without 2-3 kills but in general I like them and against air they are unraveled. Try to kill scouts with anything flying one on one with all upgrades.
At the start, it really looked like the Zerg has bought the farm. But not only was he able to break the siege, but turn the tables and win. Amazing game.
On fastest map the thing is if you let zerg evolve you just can't do anything. Mong could have won by just constantly producing at least dragoons to do minimal damage and to drain recources of LuckyBack. This could be the only option after successfully sniping the hive. Zerg can easily produce 3298579 units at the time, which protoss and terran actialy can't
Fun to watch. I feel like Mang brought a scalpel to a sword fight. So much of the game, he was not maxed out in supply. I presume he was maybe keeping supply open so that he could make the appropriate unit to counter zerg? But especially at the end, he had 10+ gateways that didn't make units for the first minute or two of the attack. I've just never seen a long fastest map where a player with Bank spent a large portion of the game at around 150 supply.
That's really all you need to know, to know how 99% of protoss noobs play. 32K minerals, 13K gas, 75 probes so only 75 supply of that is army. Total protoss noob who can't even use basic strats like keeping your army maxed out.
In this game: Two fastest noobs slowly go at eachother for 50 minutes while falcon struggles to stay awake or find any enthusiasm. Title: Epic 😂 It got me through my meal, keep on keepin on Falcon 😁
Scouts with upgrades are great because they are fast and really strong vs air. The upgrades make them not horrible against ground. On fastest map, their costs are not a concern. A scout bomb has nuked a main CC or two in my day.
This is a pretty valid strategy but this toss noob playing in the vid didn't even try to snipe the main with them. He's so hilariously bad. While the zerg knew how to use ensnare, they still would have made it there and done let's say half its total damage which just means sending one more wave would have done it which is no problem when you're sitting on all that bank. The toss player was just so hilariously bad.
Scarabs are units. That's how they get to use normal unit pathing and why they behave so badly sometimes (because the A* pathing algorithm is pretty rudimentary)
There is a box value for the units to be selectable or not. I guess scarabs are set to non selectable. Similar example would be the doodads on maps you can place. They are always non selectable and you can not even change most of them.
I don't generally like FME but this was absolutely fantastic. I only wish that shuttle with the Dark Archon hadn't been sniped. I don't know what he was going to try but it would have been interesting to see...
The protoss noob was going for mind controlling a drone. If you make even a little drop with the dark archon plus some fighting units, all the base defenses will automatically go for the fighting units first. This gives you a couple seconds window if you have an arbiter sitting in your base, to use recall then get your freshly mind controlled drone out of there. Then play like a noob and cheese and make a second army as zerg. Cause this protoss is so bad that he's sitting on 32K minerals and 13K gas and can't dent the zerg cause he's such a typical protoss noob. Mind control is a gay lame ass strategy that only total losers, cheesers, and noobs rely on when they realize they are playing against even a decent opponent that knows how to counter all their noob strats. When you go up against someone who's lost their main 30 minutes ago, you KNOW you suck ass at the game and got outplayed.
The toss in the vid is your typical protoss noob who doesn't go up against anyone else that knows how to snipe observers, he just assumes they won't know and takes a guess.
Simply the most varied game ever seeing ALL TECH used lol! And scouts would be viable if you didn't have to spend so much money and time upgrading them. They are actually really good fully upgraded.
I don't agree with Corsair only air units. They only do 5 damage per hit to air units whereas scouts do 25 damage to air units. Carriers well we know they wreak havoc to both ground and air armies quickly.
IMO the only reason Scouts suck is because of the cost. In high numbers Scouts are amazing, it only seems to be a reliable strategy when you're a fastest map. I could be wrong.
You'll get stomped by plague and dark swarm. Maybe you could try to snipe the main but the zerg knew how to use ensnare, it'd be tough to get them to the center alive. Again, you only see noobs going for mass carriers because they just hope you don't know how to use defilers.
This game goes to show how protoss is such a noob race. When you can't beat your opponent who's lost his main for almost 30 minutes and you didn't lose yours, you really really show you don't know how this game works and you got outplayed HARD. This protoss only knew noob strats, and knew a pretty good reaver push at the beginning but I'd still call it a cheese. Cause after that he basically gave up and played the game of "wonder if the zerg knows how to counter THIS other bullshit strategy". 99% chance the protoss player doesn't know that plague and ensnare instantly delete hallucinations and always attributes it to them getting killed normally, but even if he does, yet again more proof it's just "oh, try it I guess, maybe this zerg won't know about it". The dark archon in the shuttle at around 35:00 was an attempt to gay-win this map by use of mind control. What they do is try to drop a dark archon in along with fighting units, then mind control your drone/scv. This is even easier if you happen to have one away from the main where it won't be defended. They have a recall waiting from their base, and your units attacking their fighting units first, won't kill their mind controlled drone, this gives them enough chance to recall the drone out. Of course, mind control is a total total noob gaywad strategy that only desperate sad little salty protoss losers resort to in the first place. Again, goes along with how this protoss noob guy does every noob strategy in the book, for which there are counters for that he just assumes the opponent won't know, or will let one slip by, and this never happens. Zerg knows how to counter the drops and/or get enough drones out so it doesn't matter. He knows how to use plague. He knows how to use parasite to see the drops coming even earlier. He knows how to snipe the observer and knows that protoss don't have un-attackable comsat like terran or mass overlords to scan, so lurkers do so well after a drop/recall. Carriers won't work if you already know your opponent knows how to use defilers... lol... At one point the protoss is sitting on 32K minerals, 13K gas, full supply, full upgrades. Still can't budge the zerg one bit, throws entire army at him, kills only a few buildings, no progress. Mostly using noob strats like recall, thinking it will work over mass spores.... lol. Also, while sitting on THAT much money, he doesn't kill off his probes by just sending them to the zerg's base. You don't need to keep 76 probes when you have that much money, it's hurting you by limiting your army to 125 supply and more money does nothing. Typical protoss noob.
This might be my favorite Fastest game you've ever cast.
it was like a movie man

I've played this game off and on for 20+ years. I still only play at about 30apm... I haven't played much live pvp. Thanks to you.. I'm going to try.

Such a fun game to cast!!
Thanks for sending it in Joe. I'll try to find time to check out your channel.
There's something so satisfying about watching a scarab fly across a map and 'splode a group of fleeing zerg 🤣
oh wow. didn't know until now that plague can instantly dispel hallucinations
This fastest game is gonna be one of my fav you ever cast

Strange why protoss didn’t make ground units. I think start by protoss has been good? Very aggressive push in early and middle game.

You can mass scouts to try to snipe the main but this idiot toss thought he could snipe lurkers with it, got plagued maybe 10 seconds into it lmao
Stupid question here, but is it not possible to make a Fastest Map setup in SCII?
It definitely is! It's in the Arcade if you search Fastest Map. Bunch of options.
I dont understand why mang doesn't team up carriers with scouts. They are a really great combo air unit army.
You'd get utterly destroyed by plague and dark swarm if you did this.
Yay, another fastest map!
Making scouts instead of Carriers, always cause s loss. What disaster could the make to zerg
