- Happy Saturday folks! Today we look at a presentable and driven unit of a Proton Satria R3.
Believe it or not, this was the fifth car of which I approached its owner for a video shoot. The first four were unsuccessful (and for good reason). I am thrilled to finally have the stars aligned; friendly owner, presentable car and peaceful location.
The Satria R3 was R3's pioneering product. The one that started it all. 22 years after its introduction, not many units have made it out of time unscathed. Its only now that enthusiasts are beginning to see the value of a stock R3 and are making their efforts towards restoration.
Let's go!

S70 r3: im the new intern here.
Satria r3 : are you serious kid?
'S70, I am your father'
I like your English, good work ❤
Thank you!
Went to check an R3 for sale not long ago. One way to check if it's legit is to check the seam/spot welds on the B-pillar. Open up the door, remove the rubber seal on the B-pillar and you can see for yourself
Interesting. Tell us more?
@@tractiontalk normal Satrias would have a trail of "dots" (seam/spot weld I guess) with noticeable gap between each dots. R3s are like this: ........................................
@itsammarazman That's cool!
Hey bro! Nice video. I love how the front strut bar is R3. Also this is a very beautiful car sad that many people I known that owned the satria all convert them into Colt 😂
Thank you for checking the vid out. Nice R3 orange bars front and rear. Hopefully the ones still stock will continue to be in good condition as time marches on
@@tractiontalk your welcome bro. Btw I am from Thailand I really love your Satria Neo R3 Lotus and Satria Neo R3 RS vid. Hope you could add english subtitles to those 2 video. Currently, I am restoring my Satria Neo CPS White. Planning to convert it to R3 RS style don't think I could do it 100% with minor detail but just the looks is fine. I know that white isn't R3 RS just want to stick with the original paint color. Lastly, in Thailand satria neo the highest model we got is CPS only no CPS R3, CPS R3 RS or R3 Lotus.
@@MaLEFiCx777 Ahh good to see another ASEAN brother here in this channel. The first CPS model is still my secret crush till now. It came out when I was still a student and seeing a mate drive it a month later did nothing but solidify the crush. Haha.. You have a winner in your hands bro. I hope the Neo community in Malaysia can be of support in your Neo ownership. Please take good care of your CPS!
P/S: How about spraying the little strips on your bumpers and side linings to the Dark Titanium finish seen in 10:07? I promise you, that is all you'd ever need to lift the looks of the car
Something about the car having the nameplate on, fills some kind of satisfaction in me
It's the final piece that completes the car
Nice car ❤❤❤👍👍👍
Mysterious vibes
such a rare model, no amount of steering lock is enough to protect the car 😂 might as well get a wheel lock for it
rim pun boleh hilang hahaha
Dismantle the car after driving and reassemble for next drive
very good chasis good handling with 4g63t swap driving feel confident
The endless possibilities during the Mitsu era
👍👍
Hey bro. Nice video. I just gotten a Satria R3 too. I couldn’t send you messages on FB messenger.
Congratulations bro... Lotus Racing still around too?
@@tractiontalk yes bro. Still around.
Does it have plaque stated what unit it is like the one on R3 RS Neo?
Yes, see 3:27
It's on the engine cover at 3:27 . I've seen one unit with the plaque on the firewall instead. Curious case but maybe it's because the owner changed the engine so he kinda customized his own plaque. It resembled the Neo's design rather than this one.
Rasanya mostly Proton Satria R3 semuanya stage 1&2 upgrade. tapi ada satu unit special stage 3 upgrade.
Upgrade stage 1 and 2 dari kilang atau kemudiannya?
I have R3 number 125 also stage 1 😅
Nice.. One of the later batches
not around 170Nm?
I put 168Nm before referring to the brochure which said 140Nm. Curious case
