- In today's video I am reminded of the Carry On film franchise when I visit a roadside cafe called "Ooh Nice Baps!"
Located just outside Milborne St Andrew in Dorset, it's on the A354 between Blandford Forum and Dorchester.
And they're serving up breakfast rolls, burgers and all kinds of sweets and treats... Ooh Matron !

Yeah, such an unassuming little place, been there for 11 years apparently just serving simple food at a reasonable price. Certainly did the job for me. Oven pizza tonight for you huh, I am making a pasta carbonara!

You can't beat good quality street / van food. Superb value, and on the whole, if the quality isn't there, they soon disappear. Your baps looked magnificent.....!!
For the price it was really good. I was chatting to the guy and he said they had been there for 11 years. Like you say, if they weren’t any good then they would be long gone. And I appreciate the love for my baps, they are special 🤣

Bring back that Carry On humour! This is the kind of street snack food I like the best. Frenchies mustard is my favourite. It's so easy to make a great beef burger when you use decent beef mince with some seasoning. No more effort than chopping up an onion. Great video, Greeno.

Hi Greeno - cool vid. I'm from Weymouth and in a wheelchair and used to occasionally visit this places on days off work pre covid if I wanted to go somewhere but not too far.
Your video bought the van to mind and what with covid and other things I realised I'd not been for a long time!
I liked the look of that church so I thought I would visit both at the start of some annual leave today.
I had a half pounder with cheese & bacon for breakfast. 😂😂
I told the chappie that runs it about the channel and the video having gone up and he was looking you up as I was there. He remembered you asking to film and was pleased it was up and he was impressed with your subscriber numbers! 😀👍
Burger was ace (I noticed the crispy bits you mentioned 😂).
Went looking for the church and I think I found it but the Sat Nav pointed to a barrier that was down! 😀

Wow Greeno, impressive amount of grub for the price and if it was cooked well, which no doubt it was, then that's great - I'd certainly scoff here.
It's always exciting to come across some decent large baps and favourite Carry On film is Up the Khyber (does that sound right ??!?!)

I just played the video back in slow motion and just after you took your first bite of the bap it looks like you gave us the finger lol..apart from that it looked great food just a shame its in the middle of nowhere..good review!..love the clickbait thumbnail too.

The last company I worked for in England would order baps in on a Friday. I always asked for banjo eggs.....the ones that run down your shirt and you rub it like a banjo. Always sausage, egg, lots of white pepper and brown sauce. Sometimes fried onions too.
I used to work for a company that had an office on an industrial estate. Was always a treat to visit, as a van round the corner did the most amazing Sausage, egg, cheese and onion rolls... set you up for the day for sure!
@@GreenoEatsSame. While working for a tyre company on an industrial estate near Lutterworth. Sometimes these little vans are the best and need our support! I live in Seoul and I told my wife that I'd love to start such a small business.... It was shut down before it started.

Hi Greeno. That looked great. From my experience most of these roadside kiosks sell really good basic food at very reasonable prices. Love the name although I'm sure some people would go out of their way to find it offensive.
Yeah, I just view it as a cheeky throwback to days gone by, hence the thumbnail :-) It was decent enough grub for a very reasonable price!

Ha ha, I only ate half of each when I was filming Sarah 😂 Did eat the rest later at home warmed up though, so as not to waste it!

Both the breakfast bap and burger looked good and value for money.
The name made me laugh. Carry in Films had some great one liners in the scripts. No matter how many times you watch Carry on Camping where Barbara Windsor is doing the keep fit exercises and her bra! You just know whats going to happen next!
Yeah, I dunno how well they'd stand up today comedy wise, but there are certainly a bunch of classic moments!!

Another nice baps place :- A roadside cafe called "Nice Baps" has been rated as the best restaurant in Cornwall on TripAdvisor. The wooden hut, located in a layby near Wadebridge, is number one out of 2,215 eateries, which include Good Food Guide 2019 winner Nathan Outlaw.
That one near Wadebridge is the one Gary Eats reviewed a few weeks back isn't it? Certainly looked good in his review!

Cheaper ingredients are OK as long as there cooked good and there not charging a lot looked great for the price
Yeah, nothing wrong with using low cost ingredients as long as you cook them well and charge the customer appropriately :-)

Now breakfast in or near a grave yard. always the best place to take us to eat it.
At least they are in a real baps. you should just have in the car some packet sauces. you can get from certain places.
The only thing with the burger is that it is a bigger burger than McD. the slice cheese are 6p each so I more bet that it costs under a £1 to the items in the burger. were was the chips included. Having a burger out is so expensive when you can still get 4 burger and bun and make it at home.
So after eating both items. what did you have for breakfast after it heheheh. how long did you stay full for.
I do have packets of sauce in the car, we actually call it car sauce ha ha! I always collect them from McD, KFC, Taco Bell etc. Just haven’t got brown sauce 🤣 I only ate what you saw me eat while filming. I took the rest home and had it later in the day. And that was me dine for eating that day (apart from some multivitamins 😀)
wetherspoons. have brown sauce in packets. just go have a unlimited hot drink and pick a few up
I have been travelling a lot for work and the amount of hotels that charge 25 plus for an average breakfast- I'd much rather have a roll like this from a proper van!
Hotel breakfasts are a real lottery aren’t they. I used to travel overseas quite a bit, and some of the chain hotel breakfasts were truly awful, and far from cheap!

Hi Greeno, without getting to political, I do think the whole world has gone mad with too much political correctness. The word "bap" has been used to mean bread roll for donkey's years and long may it continue. I am old enough to remember most of the Carry On films the first time round, never mind any more recent reruns.
Those baps did look good. I am especially impressed by the naming of the "half pounder", which I know might be a silly thing to point out, but most places which do something similar, including McDonald's insist on calling it a "double quarter pounder".
I am fairly keen to be accepting to all, as long as they don't have any offensive views. However, it may well be the case that perhaps folk are a touch more easily offended these days by language that was perfectly acceptable a generation or so ago ha ha!
The half pounder is certainly a no-nonsense name - does what it says on the tin, and no complaints from me for doing so :-)
