Here's a dark interpretation. The studios are working in conjuction with the theater owners to deliberately create movies nobody is going to see. The theaters run the movies to empty seats but report full house cash ticket sales to the IRS. Money laundering should always be considered when the visibly financially unsupportable continues. I find it highly suspect that these people knowingly make a movie this bad unless you consider that they mean for it to tank at the box office. There is more to this than just saying the people who make these movies are stupid or incompetent. There is obviously and agenda in play.

I kept thinking about the paradox of the movie. He had dreams of the spider girls killing him, so he wants to kill them now. However, none of the teens new each other or Madame. Only by him going after them, he somehow brings them together. All 3 girls are at different walks of life and for them to become best friends at some point is highly unlikely, just because they are so different from one another.
Had he not gone after them, I wonder what happens. How could they possibly be brought together.

    • @ajourneythroughcinema1271
      @ajourneythroughcinema1271  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

It’s even worse than that because by going after them he also changed the future so Madame Web kills him instead. So the future he predicted was literally impossible because the girls would have never met had he not gone after them but also by going after them it caused someone else killed him. Makes no sense.

Madame Web wishes us an early Halloween as the words of ISB supervisor Blevin ring out in all our minds "It took the combined ingredients of idiocy, ineptitude, and total disengagement for this farce to have reached the full apex of incredulous disaster." Also, I love how the only good thing to come out of this film is the memes. They should have given the script of Madame Web to R/Raimi memes, at least it would have been better than the geniuses that wrote Gods of Egypt, the Last Which Hunter, Dracula Untold, the story for the Power Rangers movie, and Morbius.
0:50 Silk, Spider-Boy, Spider-Gwen, Anti-Venom (whether it be Eddie Brock or Flash Thompson), Mayday Parker/Spider-Girl (or any of Peter and MJ's other children in the comics), Ben Reilly, Kaine, Spider-Man Noir, Spider-UK, Spider-Punk, Spider-Ham, Peni Parker, Spider-Man J, Spider-Bitch, and Spider-Man 2099, all of these are films I'd much rather have than a Madame Web movie.
2:02 Speaking of the comics Ezekiel Simms was never even a villain in the comics
3:29 At least the 2003 Daredevil movie had an ironically amazing soundtrack.
5:19 Hey they don't look ripped out of a CW pilot! They look ripped right out of a fan film.
5:34 I love how when I was in elementary school I treated safety drills (which I knew were drills) a lot more seriously than these characters treated the villain.
6:23 They made Shazam! Fury of The Gods Skittles advertisement proud.
7:51 If I had a nickel every time Sony's Spider-Man Spin-off movies made The Amazing Spider-Man 2 look like a masterpiece I'd have two nickels which isn't much but it's weird it happened twice. Joking aside at least in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 you can tell all of the actors are giving it their all, the effects (except for The Green Goblin and Electro's design) look good (especially the Spider-Man suit which is the best it's ever looked in live-action), the action had some cool moments, the score was good (and they didn't steal it form the PS4 game like Madame Web did), it could occasionally be funny, and it had some good scenes like the Death of Gwen Stacy, the montage afterward, and Spider-Man/Peter Parker's interactions with the child he meets (and those scenes has more heart, emotion, and depth than the entire Sony Spider-Man universe without Spider-Man, despite not being in a good movie). Morbius and Madame Web have none of that.
You can tell he loved this film.

The Movie was bad but I will at least somewhat defend the line.
With great responsibility, comes great power.
    Or rather
"All these years I thought it was power that brought responsibility. It's not. I was wrong. It's responsibility that brings power. It's knowing what needs to be done that brings strength. And courage."
It’s a quote from Earth-X Peter Parker about the inner strength that comes from moral limitations. The power to find the inner strength needed to get whatever arduous task accomplished while still remaining a good person.
An example from the Distinguished Competition.
In the ‘08 trinity series Superman is dealing with Ultraman a Superman with little to no moral scruples. For as much as Ultraman is using the power without a leash and to kill. Superman won the fight because of his restraint, with each villain that lived they had to get either more powerful or more creative for the rematch which in turn made Superman get smarter, and more creative to not only fight the villain but to beat them while avoiding casualties.
As he points out, Superman doesn’t need to sit on a mountain of skulls to prove he’s tough.
Even in the animated Spider-Man series, when Peter is trying to get Doom to surrender the powers of the beyonder. He uses the line about power and responsibility, and Doom in return proclaims he will accept the responsibility in essence treating it as powerful as the beyonder.
It’s a good line, it was just used by a movie that doesn’t understand it.
And infuriates me to no end that directors are taking from Earth X without understanding it.

Taking Sydney Sweeney and turning her into a dumpy teenager was also a waste. Why didn't they just find someone less attractive. There are so many questions about this movie. Like why didn't someone notice that the plot was a mess, and also why the screenplay was a mess. Very high paid people in studios are meant to look at this stuff and go, no we are not putting up $200million for this to be made. Generally the whole process of making a movie involves someone starting with a plot and then convincing a studio that it should pay for the next step, which is a screenplay.

In the old days of less than a decade ago, if a movie bombed this badly everybody connected would be fired. and it would be a long time before they ever worked on a A-movie again. The writers and director would be banished to indie films and TV sitcoms, and the actors would be doing guest appearances on Law and Order, or they'd be in straight-to-video crap. Now there's no repercussions. The studio blames the audience and makes another piece of crap with the same results.

I was wondering why the writers have such little respect for the original story, and even less shame. Presumably it's a rights thing, and as Sony/Amazon are doing Silk separately. In sum: there are cooler female Spidery characters, but they're not allowed to use them. So we get a melange of origins and powers from Jessica Drew and Julia Carpenter.
This ends up being as coherent as Wolverine with aliens, jetpacks, dinosaurs, and Cthulhu. Fkg travesty.
