I grew up on well water, artesian spring, one of the few in our neighborhood back then, have a well now with reverse osmosis, not as good of water I grew up on, but better than the nasty city water
Wise advice! We have an RO system, AND a Berkey. So, even in a power outage, we can use the Berkey. AND hubby wants to create a system using buckets, charcoal, and sand....I think. To PRE filter what we run through the Berkey, if/when things hit the fan...or we need to get water out of a dirty puddle! LOL So much to think about....and we can stress and worry until the cows come home. But stress and worry can destroy our health! Amen to trusting the Lord! 🥰 Thanks, Heidi!
I don't know about other cities, but Phoenix gives us reclaimed water which is used water that's cleaned up and put back in the system. That means soapy detergent water, toilet water that people have flushed drugs, bugs, blood, waste, not to mention OTC and prescription drugs, hormone /birth control etc that they have consumed. I can't imaging all of that can be cleaned out with chlorine and fluoride! There were definitely days when my family would feel weird, and I could only image what hit us! It's not about living in fear, it's about feeling healthy! So we got a whole water filter and even distill our drinking water to boot. Feel so much better now! We also have water barrels in the garden and in the garage since AZ is always in a drought. and we also have arsenic. Good video! Thanks Heidi! From a long-time listener....
We have filtered well water, but also have a rain collection system. The little town closest to us is always issuing boil water notices which is scary. The town also recycles water which is another reason I’m so glad we have a well. I don’t have a Berkey but mine looks the same and uses Berkey filters. The storms here hit hardest to the west of us. We lost power last night and got it back about 10 this morning. No damage here, animals are all fine. God is good all the time!! Enjoy your Shabbat.
I get sick to my stomach on any city water. Like, my stomach feels like a rock hit it and i get nauseous. I am going to install a water collection system on my property. Great content here and on rumble
Amen Heidi. So well said. .. I have used a berkey filter for well over 20 years and the same filters are still going strong… having back up filters are importamt of course but so impressed with how many gallons of city water they have filtered for me and now well water. I love that you put your trust in the Lord Jesus Christ and do the best you can and trust him for it all because he really is sovereign. God bless you.
Speaking of rain water. It’s raining cats and dogs here in southern Missouri due to Helene. We have purchased our barrels to set up a rain catchment system. Just wished we’d had it finished right now. It would be over flowing. Speaking of Helene please keep all those people in your prayers. A lot of devastation down there. Thanks Heidi for sharing. Have a great weekend stay safe. Cheers❤
My farm is at the top of the watershed and we know we don´t get contaminants from the top. And we are not close to any industrial areas for hundreds of km. But we filter the water from the well using crushed moringa seeds to flocculate sediments, any chemical molecules, and bacteria, and then through a filter with sand and activated charcoal. Above the wells (we have 3 in the property) we have made small catchments to let water infiltrate into the soil to keep the wells with water year-round. I live in a tropical dry climate.
Ground water here in NE Texas is very hard and not tasty. The answer is always to dig a very deep well ($17,000) or buy filtered water ($0.50/gal). We started collecting rainwater and the taste is AMAZING! Compared to the best filtered water, rainwater actually tastes "sweet" but it's due to the very "unsweet" taste of what they filter and sell to you. We are in very remote rural Texas so our rainwater needs little to no filtering and tests out very pure.
Thank you Heidi for this information. Two things that I don't recall you mentioning, 1) the medicine toxins in the ground water and 2) the infectious pathogens like the recent ones that are not able to be removed from city water. I would love to have a rain water system, even though I have a well. Twice a year the lake water (12+ miles away) turns over and I can smell fishy air and taste a fishy taste in the well water. That is why I filter my well water.
We absolutely love our Berkey. We filter our well water through it and it tastes amazing. One interesting tidbit - my family and I were on vacation and we were drinking a lot of bottled water. We realized that we just weren't feeling hydrated AT ALL. Bottled water is lacking so many minerals and heck, who knows what else is in there! And don't get me started on Reverse Osmosis water.... God bless and have a great weekend everyone!!
Thanks Heidi-appreciate your content! Also many thanks for the other product recommendations-we’ve been using the Berkey for several years after Doug & Stacy recommended it-and now going to order the kizik shoes & the Dr. Jacob’s soaps, on your list of recommended products. Thanks again!

Yes, this was a farm, but the farmer who owned it was like Pa Kettle....if you remember those movies. Nice guy, but this guy was more interested in laziness than milking or working to hard on crops. I'm the healthiest person who is almost 70 that I know. No medications, never have been on any. Good farm livin'
Do you use any city water like to bathe in? We have a very good well but still filter that. I really get a lot out of your videos, thank you for your time making and sharing them with us.
Thanks Heidi for your prayers! Hurricane hit far enough east to not be a huge issue for us. Just 80mph winds and rain here. Few chickens drowned is the worst of it on us. Was a cat 4 at 140mph winds where it hit. Sure it was very bad for Taylor County.
We were blessed in that the worst was to the west of us. My soon to be son in law’s niece was not so lucky, a tree fell across their house.
