Isn't it amazing?! It's... magical! You have to try the La Mer if you're looking for something a teensy bit "heavier". It's really flawless. But I've been playing with the new Viseart loose powder - it's amazing. I can't believe how matte my skin looks, but not dry. And it blurs. Really phenomenal.
I love powders! Both pressed and loose. I have way too many loose powders in my drawer lol I also love the CT powder but man does it go quick! I've also hit pan, but its such a good powder!! I've really been wanting to try the LaMer powder as well. One of my all time favs is the Guerlain meteorites voyage pressed powder. Hefty price but a beautiful setting powder! I've heard great things about CoverFX loose powder. I also love the Bobbi Brown retouching powder in pink, so gorgeous!
i enjoy bare minerals, mineral veil as a finishing powder - i also like to use guerlain meteorites. For setting i use, guerlain mattifying loose powder in round gold compact - gorgeous 😘
In my head, I knew which ones You were about to mention because I remembered them from best (powders) of 2017. But I love Your videos so much, I don't mind watching this "again" :) I actually like that You don't have millions of new favorites every week and instead rely on the high-quality ones, it makes the opinion even more trustworthy IMO.
I don’t really use powder, because I have dry skin. I love how it looks on others though! I always buy them and never actually use them up. All your recommendations are stellar! The best of the best💕
Hey Michele, thanks for posting this! Would you believe I haven't got around to trying those powders from Hourglass. Must be the only one left in the universe or something. *But*... I recently got the loose La Mer one and I love it to bits. It goes on with some very fine bits of glitter - but somehow they vanish very quickly and leave just a wonderful luminous glow. It definitely also keeps makeup on for longer, at least on me. Something else I really enjoy and don't use nearly as much as I should is the YSL Souffle d'Eclat (shade 01). It doesn't have shimmers like the La Mer, but also looks luminous and doesn't seem to dry out my skin. I've also used an organic one (as I'm always on the lookout for organic makeup...) - the Skin Brightening Mineral Finishing Powder from Antipodes; it's just mica, grapeseed extract and jojoba oil. It's lovely. It looks white in the jar, but just leaves a pearly glow over the skin. Other stuff I've tried and I really like is the Kevyn Aucoin Neo Setting Powder - which turned out to be really nice after removing the glitter overspray. Oh, yeah. Also a big fan of the Charlotte Tilbury powder myself - but I only use that in the eye area - either to set concealer, or to dust very gently over eye primer for extra hold. Although, I would say... if you use too much of it that way, eyeshadow seems to grab onto the lid less well... I started to figure out the right amount with practice. :-)
Please try Besame cosmetics. They have brightening powders for under the eye that is pure perfection. Their packaging is very reminiscent of vintage style glam.
I love the Airbrush Flawless Finish powder so, so much! I always have to have it. Although I decided to try the By Terry Hyaluronic Hydra Loose Powder, I just ordered it and it has yet to arrive, but I can wait to try it! :)
I have dry skin and avoid powders with Talc since it is so drying. I love the non-matte versions of Surratt loose powder and Rouge Bunny Rouge. CoverFx loose powders are wonderful as well.
Wonderful list of powders!! I loved the Charlotte tilbury powder I blew threw mine lol of course I’m totally in love with the lamer loose powder and just discovered the Becca loose powder it’s the pink one I can’t remember the name I’ll have to go look but is so so pretty just dusted on the skin. 💕💕
I bought the "old" version of the La Mer loose powder because of all the hype, but I wasn't super impressed. I prefer the NARS loose crystal powder. I have tried the yellow toned Besame powder for setting under the eyes, but I was underwhelmed. I like the Hourglass powders and Guerlain meteorites (old school version before the reformulation) for finishing.
Great picks! CT Flawless is the powder I use the most. It is so beautifully milled and just melts into the skin. Hourglass Ambient Lighting powders are wonderful. I use them every day. The don't really use loose powder but if I do I like Too Faced Born This Way. I'm going to have to try the La Mer Pressed. I find the original The Powder to be too sparkly and I can see it sitting on my skin no matter how much I try to buff it in. Is The Sheer Pressed sparkly at all? Love your look! So pretty!
Hi Brenda! The pressed is not sparkly at all. I'm not a fan of the sparkles in the original loose powder either. It's faint, but I'd really prefer none! xoxo
I imagine there is a top 5 concealers in the works? Just went through the playlist and didn’t see one, I’ve been on the hunt of late, so any advice would be great ☺️
Thanks for such an informative video. I still love my cle de peau pressed powder which I only use on an occasion and my Chantecaille talc free loose powder but I definitely will give these a try. I don't always use powder. I also have a sample size of the By Terry Hyaluronic powder which I only used twice but I really like that one also but supposedly not good for photos but that is not a problem for me! I like powders that are good for dry skin and preferably without talc.
I want to use the CT (shade 1) but it always seems to visibly lie on top on my skin. I prefer pale yellow by Bobbi Brown. The Victoria Beckham pressed powder is also amazing. For loose powder I love By Terry. The hourglass powders are too dark including the one you showed except the really white one (don’t recall the name).
💕 just found your channel recently, and I am absolutely loving it! You are wonderful! 😍 I have a very serious question (lol) .. so,,, I got the notification for the new Wayne Goss Anniversary brush set. If I get them I would like to order now (through my pre order txt I received). The problem is I am going back and forth w what I want to do and cannot make a decision (Ahhh!! My dilemma, HELP!! Lol) I am also interested in the Sonia G. Brushes but l cannot do both. So my question to you, is what is your opinion? I know you have the Sonia G. Brushes and you are fond of them. what I like is that there are a couple different brushes that I haven’t seen before that I am interested in. I just cannot decide what to do! I am hoping to hear bk from you, I am really interested in your opinion. I do have all of Wayne’s other brushes as well, including the newer ones. Anyhow, thank you so much for your wonderful videos and your time 😍💕
Great video! What setting and finishing powders would you recommend for oily combo aging skin? I am trying the Flower brand powders but am not seeing much of a difference. I currently use Cinema Secrets but am curious to try some compact powders.
Hi Lisa! I personally have dry skin, but I highly recommend Risadoesmakeup - her channel is amazing. She's in her early 40's and has oily skin. I believe she just posted a video about powders too! Hope that helps! xoxo
My new FAVORITE setting powder is that Charlotte TIlbury! I can't stop raving about it! I still haven't tried La Mer yet!

Elaine Bines Mineral Veil is so underrated!! I love the hydrating one and the SPF one especially!

Gabrielle Ryan Me too! I still have that one and it’s my favorite.
The Cle de Peau Refining Powder is sooooo beautiful. It was a complete impulse purchase but now I’m hooked. I think you would love it
You look gorgeous in this video! Thx for being real and sharing your opinions in a succinct way.
love your videos, they are always super helpful❣️I love my by terry hyaluronic powder, it’s not a pressed powder though.. :)
That would be my exact top 5 powders as well!! So good. Osmosis presses powder is great as well.

cindypltnm I love the Besame Brightening powders! The Rose and Violet are my favorites for top of the cheeks, under eyes. Nice one!

OMG I totally agree with this selection. The only one I don’t have is the chantecaille and now I’m intrigued.
OBSESSED with your eyeshadow- you look gorgeous Mich xo
I just purchased my first hourglass ambient lightning. And i will try it as a setting powder. Thanks for the tip! i love your videos Michelle!!😚😚

Thank you so much for the info on the pressed powder. I'm going to add it to the list to try!
I would love it if you showed the kinds of brushes or applicators with each of these specific product videos.
I imagine there is a top 5 concealers in the works? Just went through the playlist and didn’t see one, I’ve been on the hunt of late, so any advice would be great ☺️
Hi Michele is the La Mer powder offer any type of a radiance? Great video. Thank you. Xoxo 😘
Hi Marsha - no, no radiance with the La Mer powder.
