✎ More about Jeff Bezos. As a child, he spent summers working on his grandfather's ranch in southern Texas. He served as the president of the Princeton chapter of the Students for the Exploration and Development of Space. After graduating from Princeton in 1986, Bezos worked on Wall Street in the computer science field. He founded Amazon.com after making a cross-country drive from New York to Seattle, writing up the Amazon business plan on the way. He had left his well-paying job at a New York City hedge fund after learning "about the rapid growth in Internet use". In 2000, Bezos founded Blue Origin, a human spaceflight startup company. He was one of the first investors in Google, investing $250,000 in 1998. A number of other business investments are managed through Bezos Expeditions. He surpassed Bill Gates on the Forbes list of billionaires to become the world's richest person. His net worth surpassed $100 billion for the first time on November 24, 2017.

You mean Leftist? You know his stepdad Miguel ("Mike") Bezos fled from communist Cuba under Castro, right? I'm reading Invent & Wander now, and it talks about many of Bezos' political beliefs. He's a big freedom and liberty guy - even to the chagrin of A.I. / machine learning techies. I believe most of what you see from him is due to corruption, interference and intervention on the part of Big Government under the current administration - rather than Bezos' own beliefs. Apparently he and Trump clashed quite a bit on the ownership of the Washington Post. Trump thought Bezos was using it as propaganda, and Bezos thought Trump was abusing government as political oversight.
But, like they say absolute power corrupts absolutely - so who knows what he's thinking these days? (he's obviously stepped down as CEO of Amazon, so he's probably more focused on Blue Origin and other ventures anyway) My thoughts are that he and his father want to preserve freedom and liberty for the USA, but didn't particularly like Trump (battle of big egos). Most entrepreneurs are Libertarian or "anti-establishment" as your username puts it, and seek to minimize the role of government as much as possible. I'd say Jeff sees himself as Libertarian, and bought the Post as a strategic position to minimize bad press/news about Amazon - the fact that it is Leftist like most Big Media or mainstream media is - is just a side effect. He's a sharp businessman so he knows how to play the game and placate politically correct beliefs that come with the territory of getting big (both as a company and country).
Great video Evan. Choosing a life of adventure means for me to challenge myself to do hard and new things. Live a life of no regrets rather than a safe life. :)
