    I almost woke up the whole house with a yell when the door window glass broke! I didn't think I would enjoy the "silent build" style of filming but you have me hooked!

    I am a convert to your fix it best you can while keeping it all original paint approach! The big test will be that fender but after what you did with the roof I have high expectations. Bummer about the glass.

    What a great job again smoothening these doors. I also fully get your restoration approach now of leaving a car as original as possible and not trying to cover any flaws, small dents or rust spots with bondo and paint. The word "bondo" must give you goosebumps anyway as far as I can tell now. Sorry about the door glass, that really sucks! Anyway, the 356 is in amazing shape taking into account its age and the color came out great after buffing it up (looks like "Champagnergelb" or champagne yellow as Porsche called it back in the day). Also nice to get a glimpse of your wife and your cute little daughter this time. Great work, looks like we see you driving in the 356 in the not too far future. Lookig forward to it. And, yes, the flipflops are back ;-).

    Walter comes in for the emotional support. :( Amazing what you can do with a block of wood and hot air.

    16:57 This is why you take the glass out of the door before going to work with a slight adjuster

    cut the door skin off and weld/lead a new one in. Door skin is like 95 bucks. Youll spend weeks chasing those waves and a lot of bondo.

    We won´t tell your family you ruined that epensive tinted glass. Thanks for the lesson on bending that deformed metal. Patience and perseverence will get you through this project as well. Wonder how you´ll tackle that front fender, though. I´ll keep my fingers crossed. Sympathetic resto will save money if you get the wheels aligned well. Will follow this!

    Jared! first off the original color restoring on the Porsche is absolutely beautiful. Did using the wood helped with knocking out the huge indentations? It look as if it did quite a bit. The first door panel you did, came out beautiful; considering how damaged it was. Great overall job you are doing on this vehicle. Can hardly wait to see you do with the engine. Again, thanks for sharing your knowledge and experience with us(your viewers).

  • @ssabet9

    Really nice work Jared! I think that with your approach the car will look nice and you'll for sure be able to enjoy it. Maybe once it's all put together you can take it to a PDR guy and make it look even straighter (if possible bc you are leaving it quite good!)...keep it up man!

  • @fractalrender
    @fractalrender 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Shit happens!!!!. I still think that some things you should fix them once for good, I understand that you want to keep as original as possible but the car deserves the trouble and the time!. Nevertheless great work!!!

    Man that sucks about the window. One of those things you go man I wish I would have just gone ahead and removed that first. Been there done that. Looks really good. I love following all your projects and this one is right up there.

    Never unscrew the door hinges, pop the pins then you do not have the aggravation of realigning the hinges. That's the way the factory did it.

    Hi, what temperature do you set the airgun ? Enough to soften the metal and not altering the color ?

    • @Jerod_Helt
      @Jerod_Helt  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I turn it on full blast. The point is to soften the paint not the metal. It keeps the paint from cracking and coming off👍
