can one reformat the 2.5 HDD via a SATA to USB connector to a PC reconnect to PS3 system and then the PS3 system itself will reinstall itself into the cleaned HDD? how reliable of a fix is that? I like to know before i decide to go out to the nearest RadioShack.
Take it to a professional! Don't try it urself, you will likely brick it. A pro will fix and warranty it for a small fee, no point messing around with it. GPU/CPU faults will NOT cause RSOD!! This error occurs when the NAND or NOR Hashing is broken, it's often from write-levelling (sony often use cheap NVRAM)
If the GPU and CPU overheat then you get ''The yellow light of death'' not this.
