i have black ops 2, ghost and warefare. and its these and only these games that freeze on me, dont know why its just these fuggin games. sony can eat shite and die, i have mates with the same games and they have the same prob, i have mates with xbox and have no trouble with these games. my nxt console will defo be an xbox. Take it to a professional! Don't try it urself, you will likely brick it. A pro will fix and warranty it for a small fee, no point messing around with it. GPU/CPU faults will NOT cause RSOD!! This error occurs when the NAND or NOR Hashing is broken, it's often from write-levelling (sony often use cheap NVRAM)
can one reformat the 2.5 HDD via a SATA to USB connector to a PC reconnect to PS3 system and then the PS3 system itself will reinstall itself into the cleaned HDD? how reliable of a fix is that? I like to know before i decide to go out to the nearest RadioShack.
