    Jim Henson was not a ventriloquist, you can see his lips move, but nearly everyone talks to his characters like they were real people. Jim was an amazing artist who is missed greatly.

    That's a testament to Jim Henson's talent right there, specifically his talent at creating and playing likable and lively characters
    Kermit just openly acknowledged that he's operated by wires and even with that I STILL am able to take him seriously like he was a real live person... frog... frog person. The illusion is just too damn good!

    Between Henson’s quick wit, Rivers looking at Kermit just about the whole time while speaking to him, & the fact that this is to promote LABYRINTH, just an 11/10 interview right here. May their memories be a blessing to all who knew or come to know them.

      Jim Henson was the closest thing to Walt Disney of his generation. Walt Disney brought joy to the audiences of 1920's to 1950's and beyond with the lovable characters of Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy, Pluto, and Chip 'n Dale. Jim Henson did the same thing with all the countless Muppets from mid-50's forward. Jim Henson aspired to greater things, and if he had not died so soon, I think he would have achieved all his goals with the unstoppable pluck that true artists have.

    Darn, Jim looks like Steven Spilberg with that whole beard get up. And wow how he could stay in character well. I mean maybe he knew what they were suppose to talk about but she come of as asking him intensely so it had to have been prepared to get the most real reaction. And how much I try my eyes focus right on Kermit when he talks, can´t look at Jim, master puppeter.

    These interviews with Jim always make me a little sad- no matter what show he's the guest on, the host always quickly asks him to be Kermit/Rowlf/etc. They ask one or two questions to him for formality but then spend most of the time with the puppets. I get that's exciting, and I always love seeing Jim perform, but he's such an interesting and inspirational person on his own, it'd be nice to have seen more of just Jim himself!

    It’s amazing that when people talk to Muppets, they talk directly to them, not at the person performing them.

    It’s funny that all the Jim Henson interviews hosts always want to interview the puppet not the man. He’s very shy and quiet man but his charisma is projected through the puppets.

    Jim Henson was not a ventriloquist, not by a long shot. But he was a MASTER puppeteer.

    Kermit's soul went with our beloved Jim. I'd give almost anything to have him back and keep The Muppets out of the Big Mouses clutches. Everything they touch turns to dust since Micheal Eisner shafted Roy Disney.

      Can we not insult the current Muppet performers?

    • @forevercomescrashing
      @forevercomescrashing 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@megelizabeth9492 no, most of them are awful. Dave Golez is the only one still performing a few of his characters and Disney has told Frank Oz they don't want him, so no, I won't spare the current muppeteers. They are no good. Again, the soul of the Muppets died with Henson

    Wow. I've never heard Kermit The Frog and Jim Henson talk about sex. Well, the original Muppet Show wasn't just intended for kids. But now Disney bought it, and I'm turning 11, so I'm used to the more modern muppets (and the 2015 show).
