Great video. Very detailed and I liked how you showed testing the gears and diagnosed the noise. Extremely helpful. Hope you continue with the videos.
    Thanks!

Good job, lots of detail. I'll likely be doing my clutch in the fall. This will help with disassembly, thanks for posting!

I put my 1970Spitfire up on blocks and took my trans out from under neath the car. This is also very helpful undoing the clutch. Save a lot of work taking the interior apartment. All that's required was to remove the transmission cover.

Any idea when you will post the gearbox repair? Like the video just the right level of details. Thanks

Hi, unfortunately, I've already sold the transmission for parts as I was having trouble locating a first gear for it for a reasonable cost, so I didn't end up making a video on it, however I will possibly be rebuilding the transmission in my spitfire this winter as its got a leak and while I have it out, I want to replace syncros, so that video should show the removal and re install of the gear, although not a new gear, but still the same concept.

Thank you for this! I’m in the process of removing the trans in my ‘71 1300 and it is near identical to yours. Very helpful though I’m trying to figure a way to support the engine and trans while pulling them apart to avoid binding or damage to the input shaft

No worries! I find the best way to do it, the way ive done it on my driver spitfire, is to support the engine with an engine crane from the back, but im wondering if there might be a way to possibly put a jack under the engine somehow maybe with a piece of wood so that there isnt any damage on the oil pàn. But if your motor mounts are in good shape, the engine wont actually drop significantly and its shouldnt need mych support, this car has really blown mounts.

squeelz n peelz thanks - I don’t have an engine hoist bit I’ve got a jack under the pan with wood utop. I’m going to put a jack stand under the transmission on a creeper to slide it forward hopefully that’ll work..

I'm about to pull the gearbox on my GT6+ for the first time for the same reasons, this video has been really helpful. Are you still planning on posting the follow-up video showing how you repair/replace the damaged gear? I am betting mine is suffering the same.
