I have removed the gearbox, and once the overdrive through the floor, I would just pull the engine next time, usually something else is discovered requiring more time after working on this model triumph for many years I decided to stop repairs since 2021.
MAN, SHE'S A BEUTIFUL RIDE! I KNOW YOUR GOING TO HATE IT BUT, Y NOT PUT A LS MOTOR OR EVEN A HOPED UP 4 BANGER? I WOULD WANT TO STAY AS ORIGINAL AS POSIBLE BUT, IF I COULD GET A 2ND ONE, I WOULD THEN MODIFY IT FOR SPEED!!! MY DREAM IS A 3RD GEN IROC Z-28 & I WILL INSTALL A SB400 BORED,STROKED & BALANCED TO A 406 STROKER! HAD ONE IN A 79 Z-28!!! IT SCREAMED!!! ABOUT 1200 HP.LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT!!!!
I know owners that get some what power happy, blowers, V8s. but if I was going to invest that much time and money I would get back into the mopars', my spitfire is for daily driving, very cheep to drive..
the car is not designed for speed. No part on it can handle power. You would just destroy it. These cars were not about speed. They are English sports cars. They are designed for sporting motoring, that means spirited driving on the English countryside. No significant speeds are achieved in that kind of driving. It is only the sensation of speed due to its small size and low stature. And open top. 60 mph in that is flying. Putting some big engine in that car would just wreck it. You would put everything out of balance and out of whack.
its nice to watch a video of a guy working on his car explaining the process without over explaining things
beer in the fridge! that's the part i was forgetting planning my own job ;-p
Nice vid! That beer looked too good! ;)
it was a celebration, for a job done. thanks.
air injection did dilute the exhaust gasses. that's how they passed.
That was helpful!
Lots of time removing accessories and connections, a miracle occurs and the engine is out of the car. What about mounts and gearbox?
