I grew up in San Jose . I moved there from Berkeley in 1954 when I was 9. We lived in San Jose, then when my parents bought their new home, we moved to Santa Clara in 1961. It was a new development called "STONEGATE", right next to "Forrest Park". Even the "San Thomas Expressway wasn't built at that time. My parents paid $24,500 for a beautiful new 2 story 2,400 sq ft all electric home on Stevenson St. Last year that same home sold for $1 million 800 thousand. At that time, in 1961, it was definitely upper middle class. We were still surrounded by prune orchards, which later became "Pruneridge Estates". Looking at it today, it looks pretty low end. When we lived there, the kind of cars you'd see in the neighborhood driveways were Thunderbird, Cadillac, Lincoln,,Buick,Imperial, Corvettes. My folks had a new Pontiac Bonneville. Now, from the pictures, all you see are pick up trucks, RV's, and Boats littering the streets. We were 5 minutes from "Valley Fair" just off Steven's Creek. Amazing how times change.
I used to live in the Santa Teresa area for 15 years but we rented, eventually we moved out of San Jose to buy a house in patterson CA. We miss San Jose but even for a family of 7 who are all working, it’s practically impossible to buy a home in San Jose
Thank you for pronouncing San Jose correctly, unlike another video I just watched. Also giggling that where I grew up in SJ wasn't mentioned in either video. It must be the Gen X area of San Jose. My high school's ranking is not that far from Evergreen Valley High school's ranking either...
west SJ is a great area too. access to Valley Fair, Santana row, Pruneyard/downtown campbell, 10 mins from LG and easy commute access via 280, 880 and San Tomas expressway.
Grew up in the Eastside Evergreen area Funn Funn Funn lots of Professional Figures came out that area Mt Pleasant High Great school played in the Mountains Orchards Creeks 👍🏽💯
We'd look into areas around Japantown, Silver Creek, or Berryessa, they maybe a little more than 8 mins but not too bad. If you have any other questions email us at danny@ssv.group!
Definitely another great area! Feel free to text or call with any questions you might have, our number is listed in the description and in our video. We are more than happy to help you out 👍
It’s Communication Hill, not Communications Hill. You should double check your work. Lots of errors in your videos. Story spelled storey, etc. check your grammar, spelling, and plurals.

This video should have included maps with pins to give better reference for those not familiar with the area
That's a great idea! And thanks so much for watching.
Born and raised in WG. Almaden is the only other part of San Jose you’d want to live.
Almaden is a wonderful area! Thanks for sharing! 😁
Willow Glen

How do you feel about Los Gatos?
What are your thoughts on Almaden Valley?
Fantastic area! Especially if you have children. Are you looking to buy in Almaden?
You seem to have left out Almaden, West San Jose, and Cambrian.
Isn't Evergreen too close to the fire area?
just a question hoping u will be kind to answer, what neighborhoods are practically 8 mins drive from lenfest road?
