+Noah whitehouse (BNSF9643) Becouse they are european. A lot of our diesels are actually american, like the british class 66 and the older dutch series 2200/2300 for example. The dutch series 2700 was almost a pure american with his american nose and single cab. 5 are build, no one survived. His electric sister, the series 1200 was a double cab, 7 survived. Google NS serie 2700 or NS serie 1200, do not mistake with the american railroad company NS ( Norfolk & Southern, versus Nederlandse Spoorwegen) It has te do with more diesel experaince of the americans versus more electric experiance at the european side. Somehow, it also has to do with world war 2.
Ok so do you want the long answer or the short answer? Well I’ll give you both Long answer: Not exactly… this is actually a custom made variant of the amfleet II cars (only difference between the II and the I was the door windows) and this variant was made for track maintenance and observation. It has a pantograph because when in use it is able to measure the cantanarys above and power the cars equipment if they want. Since it was down, they were probably transporting it to its next assignment. So In short that is not a metroliner, but completely understand the confusion.😊 Short answer: no, that did not ‘used to be a metroliner’
Be careful what u ask for I've lived here awhile. And the MARC train is not enough for me to want to stay here with this over reaching State Gov't.! Now WV or Va would eb a better bet since the MARC goes there!
@ 1:54 I just saw a Pattern of the MARC Passengers Middle Window Passenger Down & Up Window Passenger Middle Window Passenger Down & Up Passenger & Middle Window Passenger
Much to my dismay, rail transport in the USA is only viable in certain corridors, long distance rail transport cannot pay its way through the customer, it has to have subsidies from the government. Would that this were not so, but sadly it is old technology. I love trains and every thing rail, but unlike the British Empire of old the sun is setting on this technology for the most part
While Metra may own the rolling stock, do they actually operate it? (Fair question; while the Maryland Department of Transportation owns the rolling stock, they don't operate any of it - AMTRAK does, under contract.)
M-A-R-C I THINK IS STUPID HAVE A CAB UNIT ON ONE END AND A BACK UP CONTROL UNIT. WHY NOT DO LIKE THE RAIL TRANSIT IN NEW YORK HAVE THE CONTROL UNITES ON BOTH ENDS, AND HAVE THE CAB UNITES ON BOTHENDS OF A SPECIAL TRAIN LIKE THE POLITICAL TRAIN THEN THEN THEY CAN GET UP AND MOVE IF THERE IS A RIOT.
Awesome seeing all those different types of passenger trains
Nice! Reminds me of our commuter rail system here in Massachusetts: They have bi-level cars that look like the ones here. I love that a lot 😍
You talking about Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority?
@@MidwesternRailfanyep, he is. I’ve been to Boston before and have seen them
Don't blink after the first train or you'll miss the second one! nice video.
A burning memory… the AEM7 & HHP8
Is it me or was the 4:55 NE Regional going faster than the Acela at 0:00?
Yeah the regional is defintetly going faster
@6:21 nice cab car catch i've never seen a cab car like that
Great vids, cool trains! I like to watch trains since i was a kid.
Very nice videos.....!
I was surprised by the two-car train at 5:23. Was that supposed to be a shuttle train or something?
+LarcenTyler Me too. It should be shunting or something.
test train i think
So, does the MARC just press a random consist generator for their trains? I've never seen such combos before.
The hhp-8 locomotives were scrapped to make the Acela Express trains
All and all, it was a good afternoon along the northeast corridor. 6:20, I'm still trying to figure put what that was.
2:48 Shave and a Haircut.
I love the GP 39s and the GP40s as well! Too bad they are getting phased out D:
wow every secoundthere was a train
Yeah, what's up with that little train in 5:33?
i swear, some of our locomotives are looking more and more european.

AEM-7s were based off the SJ RC class in Sweden.
What roughly was the time span between trains.
i have no idea. this was almost exactly a year ago. i'd guesstimate about 15-30 mins between each averaged out
6:22 Did that used to be a Metroliner. If not, Why the heck does it have a Pantograph?
Ok so do you want the long answer or the short answer? Well I’ll give you both

Thanks!
Amtrak with only 2 coaches?
Be careful what u ask for I've lived here awhile. And the MARC train is not enough for me to want to stay here with this over reaching State Gov't.! Now WV or Va would eb a better bet since the MARC goes there!
Cool video.
Did MARC stop running the kawasaki multilevels?
Also, see the Mbta videos with the commuter rail
Cool
2:15 there is a plane in the background!
5:28 which train is that, it only has 2 cars and I know that can't be the Keystone Service.

@ 1:54 I just saw a Pattern of the MARC Passengers
Middle Window Passenger
Down & Up Window Passenger
Middle Window Passenger
Down & Up Passenger
& Middle Window Passenger
yep. usually with marc there is no pattern.
BaltimoreAndOhioRR why do they make it like that? Usually in New Jersey Transit you will not see a mix between multilevel and single-level cars.
Yeah, it actually will.
AEM-7
2:50 is that the same engine as the acela?
2:50
At 3:16 I see a plane landing delta airlines aircraft
(: Like
I mean 2:16
Idk who in their right mind wanted to make these engines so ugly looking? AEM-7, F40ph, and gp40mc all day these new units are ugly as bleeeeep!
To see MARC running the Siemens ACS-64 is indeed a surprise.

5:24 Was that even carrying people?
Beech Grove Indiana, where the NYC once had their shops?
Nice catches! I have caught the Corridor Clipper before, but not Beech Grove. That is pretty cool to catch them both in one day!
OMG a rare cab car and the observation car 1 after the nother you are the best train catcher ever
It was at 6:22.

รถใช้ความเร็วอย่างไรครับ ?
Why is MARC running so many diesels under the wires?
+ApolloWasReal
they are phasing out their electric locomotives
BaltimoreAndOhioRR That seems like a very backward move to me.
+ApolloWasReal Thier electric locomotives are even older than most of their diesels.
+ApolloWasReal Me too! (I feel traveling into time and space...)
and the boys
French TGV's in the usa.
Wat is MARC
I like the car which I think it had two windows and then four and one window for the engineer
and a thing on the top of it
@2:37, the perfect MARC consist.
This is why I wish that i lived in Maryland. The sleek electrics. I would trade stupid metra for MARC any day of the week
While Metra may own the rolling stock, do they actually operate it? (Fair question; while the Maryland Department of Transportation owns the rolling stock, they don't operate any of it - AMTRAK does, under contract.)
cool trains... some interesting combinations of commuter coaches. I think American trains are cool!
I really enjoyed this video.
And another cool car at 6:31 I think.
@2:50 "shave and a haircut two bits" lol
2:15 you can see a Delta 737-800 on final approach over the loco

Very cool catches. That was a pretty funny and little train at 5:33.

Nice 👍🙂
Thanks! 👍😀
Awesome video! The last car at 6:22Has a pantograph. Why?
th-cam.com/video/GaI3VceVtGc/w-d-xo.html
@@MANOFKENT149 Cool! Usually track geometry cars don’t have a pantograph. I would love to go in one one day.
Nice one 😁👍
Thanks 😁
Does Marc have mp36s
Michael Fi yes
yes
Amtrak with two cars
I HATE (A) Long distance driving, (B) Greyhound, and (C) Airlines. For ME, it's railroad or nothing at all. :)
