LiftedJeepTJ98 maybe it was gone for maintenance for awhile? maybe parked to be used as extra power? i dont know, but whenever i'm on the nec, i look for it (because of the sticker) and hadn't seen it for a long time!
+BaltimoreAndOhioRR Definitely something to keep an eye out for. I live up near Philadelphia, and I was doing the same when Amtrak retired their HHP8s and more recently, the AEM-7s. I'd really like to catch a MARC AEM-7, but I hear they are all OOS.
i hope not what a beautiful train it is, i have the bachmann spectrum ho scale of it and i am getting a 2nd one for my future train garden as the center piece
thetravinator9 The HHP-8 was a piece of history, plagued by mechanical failure, that was killed before it's time. Amtrak will realize they've made a grave mistake by taking Siemens' offer for the ACS-64...
***** you can do the technical research, but just to make it easy, look at the back of the acela engine, then the back of the hhp-8. both engines are made by the same manufacturer, but they're not the same model. they are similar but not equal. they are not interchangeable. you will not see an hhp-8 pulling the acela train, or vice versa.
***** what are you talking about? i dont have to look anything up, i know exactly what the acela is. and it is NOT an hhp-8! you need to look some things up!
acfhs2010 I don't know why but my friend recently built Marc a yard in DC and it was supposed to have catenary but MARC said that they whernt doing electric no more I don't really know why and it might have to do with budgets
Interesting catch with the HHP-8; but good riddance to them I'd say. I find it honestly though, hilarious how these folks in the comments are whining about the HHP-8's being retired despite their mechanical issues. They seem to forget MARC, Amtrak, etc, are *businesses*. They're not 'Railfan Shows'. A single HHP-8 can accumulate $2,000,000 to $5,000,000 in maintenance alone over a year, and now multiply that by the 6 MARC ordered initially, plus the 15 Amtrak purchased. Staggering amounts isn't it? I think a lot of folks need to lose the 'foamer boner' and remember, the Rail companies like Amtrak, MARC, CSX, NS, SEPTA, NJT, etc etc are here to *make money*, not please railfans. Pleasing us doesn't make them their money, being a successful business does. PS: I got to ride behind an HHP-8 during their last days of service and that was the *roughest* ride I have *ever* had on the Northeast Corridor!
Also something else I'd like to mention, which is the hilarious people complaining about the ACS-64s, you realize folks said the SAME THING about the AEM-7&HHP-8 back in the day? The oh-so-beloved AEM-7 was railfan hated basically because it's something new, and replaced the E60 and GG-1. And yet look at how revered the AEM-7 is nowadays!
The Nordic Stag I guess I can see your point, but It's like if someone kept replacing your favorite toy over and over with a new one. Not too great. But when you look back in memory of all the toys that you had, you think "You know what, each one of them I had good times with." It's just railfans in general, and me being one. I'm not taking offense to your comment.
Jagged bacon Well thing is though, while I see where you're coming from; these never were 'our toys' at all honestly. I Mean I can understand being sad to see 'em go, and I'll be sad to see the AEM-7s go as well; but what I've seen on some comments, not just here but in other videos as well. With the amount of sheer disrespect for Amtrak and such that people have for getting rid of them, acting like they know these locomotives better than the crews, the Railroad, etc... It just blows my mind, and not in a good way either.

Wut for?
1:15, look, an AEM-7, those were done doing service and into history on April, 2016.

Sweet catches!
horn covers are working just fine lol
Aside from the name decal, what makes #4913 so rare?? I just got shots of it sitting in Baltimore this weekend.

Very nice that's cool keep it up
Thank you! Cheers! 😀✔
I wonder if Marc will retire their HHP-8's along with Amtrak.
i hope not what a beautiful train it is, i have the bachmann spectrum ho scale of it and i am getting a 2nd one for my future train garden as the center piece
Nice video!
Thanks!
MARC is conducting a refurbishment program for the HHP-8s now, so they won’t be retired.
David Ng Yay!
i knew! i knew! Nice Catch of MARC HHP-8 Train!
thx!
Nice job.
Nice Video
Thanks 👍👍👍
Saw this at 9:30 P.M.
the third one is a discontinued AES7? And the 4th HHP8 again.
+Shang Wookie
1st is mp36, 2nd is acela, 3rd is aem-7, 4th is hhp-8, 5th is aem-7, 6th is mp36, 7th is hhp-8,
Excuse me but who is this Kathryn D Waters? I just need to know.
I never knew that MARC had any named engines.
I didn't know MARC had HHP-8's.
Is MARC a underrated Amtrak because they have the exact same engines as amtrak
James Mctaggart no they don't have the same stuff amtrak has aem-7s and the acela
RIP Amtrak HHP-8 1999-2014 *_Killed by Siemens ACS-64s_*
You will be missed forever
They broke down incessantly and cost millions in unscheduled maintenance. Good riddance.
I wouldn't call German engineering built in America a "cheap block of plastic."

Wait a second. I think you mean the AEM-7's are gone.
Wait, never mind. Still, the AEM-7's are going too. It's not that bad. Trust Bombardier
like 210👍🏻 mega
Big thanks
Nice...:)
I like train videos videos on TH-cam jawtooth 👍
The second one is an hhp8

***** here the info of the hhp-8
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bombardier%E2%80%93Alstom_HHP-8
MSz the HHP-8 was used as a regional, the front of the train looks as if it was cut off, and it has two faces.
Nice!@
Sad to say but that HHP-8 is going to be none existent soon since MARC is not doing electric locos any more
Really? MARC is getting out of the electric market? Why?
acfhs2010 I don't know why but my friend recently built Marc a yard in DC and it was supposed to have catenary but MARC said that they whernt doing electric no more I don't really know why and it might have to do with budgets
Simulation 101! my friend built it and works for MTA
HA! YEAH! DIESELS ARE REPLACING ELECTRICS! WOOHOO! :D
Yeah but they where Rare electrics
Rare? I see the HHP every day in Harmans.
That's an mp36
+Shang Wookie
hhp-8
+BaltimoreAndOhioRR The first one is an mp36 #31
Shang Wookie yes, the first one is. the kathryn waters is an hhp-8
HHP8 is sure adorable by us railfans but they are unreliable due to mechanical problems
MARC gave their HHP8s a second chance with rebuilds in 2018.
@@malachimuhammad-dy2owwell i know that they got refurbished in 2017 but they still have issues mainly with 4910 and 4913
don't stand on the yellow line ok.
Why is the HHP-8 so rare
Cause their only 4
Amtrak Pennsylvanian Service *theirs
***** * there're
Trainbrain1949. It's rarely seen because they like to keep it hidden!

Yeah that's understandable. But the "toy" thing was just an example.
The Nordic Stag Well, that's how they feel, you can't control people on what they want and say, who do you think you are!
