I remember when skinny jeans FIRST came out, I thought I looked ridiculous in them. Then when I got used to them, it was all I wanted to wear, lol. I think you are correct that some styles just take some getting used to 😀
Love Halara pants! So comfy! I'm not a fan of the last bolero jacket. It's just too short to me. I don't like how high up it is in the back. Just not my thing.
I didn't think I'd like wide leg pants but I have been converted. I'm short waisted like you now, and I find most wide leg pants are also high waisted. They can be uncomfortable if the fabric is stiff like denim. i found two pairs of linen cotton blend wide leg pants on Amazon, that are mid rise and pull on. They worked well. I have gained wright in my lower belly and pull on pants work best for me. If i buy regular fitting pants with a sewn waistband to fit my waist, they are way too baggy in the rear and hips, so I prefer a pull on style. I am definitely going to try the first pair of dress pants you featured. I didn't like the last bomber/bolero jacket. Don' think it was flattering. The first mauve one was okay but I'm not a fan of the over large picket flaps. They make a large busted person (like me) seem to have an even larger bust. i'm afraid those flaps on me would stick straight out.

With that said, generally, I went up 1 size for most of the pieces (because of the measurements given on the size charts). So, although I typically wear a medium, most of the pants I showed were size "large". I hope this helps!

The really wide leg pants make me look even shorter and fatter than I am. I try for a straight leg or slightly wider leg.

Wide leg is just a new name for bell bottom, which I was a part of that era and had no problem with them then and no problem with them now at 65

In my opinion the bolero length jacket would be better if it wasn’t gathered at the waist. If it layed flat it would be perfect.
