When clearing brush you might try using a stump killer. I dispense it (diluted some) from a plastic ketchup squirt bottle, (from WM kitchen wares) and it does its magic on a lot of thorny vines and tree sprouts. Mimosa is invasive in my county, and the stump killer helps keep the shoots in control. Just whack off the offending plant and apply a squirt to the stub. Voila. Come back next month.
I live next to a cemetery. I love it because the neighbors are very quiet. Jokes aside, I hate seeing neglected or abandoned cemeteries. Thank you for cleaning this one.
Do you realize what a great service you did? Maybe now someone will stop by and leave a flower or say a prayer for these poor forgotten souls. Thank you so much for your hard work.
Hello! I noticed the name Walker on the head stone and I know walker is on my family tree but in Georgia, so I looked up Franklin Pierce Walker on my tree and sure enough he was the husband of my 12th cousin once removed! So Thank you for leading me into a new branch of my relatives and history! Amazing how much we can learn just by watching a video! :)
If I lived in the area, I would make sure that each and every grave had flowers on it as everybody deserves to be remembered. Thank you, CJ Mowing, for being so kindhearted and helping those in need. You both are angels in disguise. 😇
Oh, wow! That was truly special. I hope those headstones and people can be documented. There is a huge movement of genealogists, historians and regular citizens on a quest to find their ancestors. There are even people who volunteer their time to clean headstones with special solutions. You two are the best, thank you for another job well done.
They are documented. Why would you think that they wouldn't be? Someone already shared that they found their 12th cousin once removed based on the headstone they researched shown in this cleanup.
The living honor those who came before them by showing respect to their memory, by cleaning up that cemetery and revealing the stones their memory will live on a little longer. I have been in many such cemeteries in the oddest of places in search of family members, and want to thank you for the awesome cleanup.
We have been fighting cemetery clean up for years on private property here in central Florida. If their are no longer living survivors of the family plots, they become long forgotten. Unfortunately, many old Cemeterys are now purchased by corporations as investments and are largely used by locals as trash dumps and grown over by jungle. I'm glad to see one like this respected and transformed into a peaceful small paradise.
I thank you both for taking the time and giving respect to those buried at this cemetery. We need more people like you to bring light to these historical cemeteries.
Hey, Tarzan and Jane. Isaw part 2 before part 1. Was surprised to see so much overgrowth. This would be good for the Scouts to earn badges, to clean up small local cemeteries and put it in the news.
You two are hard workers, you tackle just about everything. Doing this neglected graveyard was so thoughtful. Watch all your videos, this was an old one I hadn’t seen, I am subscribed. Blessings from Australia 🇦🇺 😊😊😊😊
It is to bad that nobody would clean those headstone. It would be so respectful.I love so much to see those old cemeteries get clean up. Seen one before and the headstone were all cleaned up and the even put some flowers 🌸 it was so beautiful.❤
God Bless you all for a wonderful job you did. I love cemeteries and it is good to see there are still people in this world that still care about the dead.
So glad you added information on the family cemetery above, so at last they are "not forgotten" hopefully the county will keep it up now! Amazing find & so glad you checked out the "weeds" a loving family once lived there!
Wonderful forgotten neglected old family graveyard transformation magnificently. Great job. When l was in my 60s l would clean and restore grave stones. Very rewarding for the soul. Thank you for your kindness.
Some public organization or local government agency should take over the care of this cemetery. Where most of my relatives since 1865 are buried is in Wayne County, Iowa and the County keeps the many small country cemeteries mowed. A historical group has repaired broken stones and generally made a huge effort to respect and preserve the stones of those buried there. My mom, who passed in 2021 at age 100, told me when she was a child, the week before Memorial Day families would take a picnic to the cemetery and spend the day cutting grass and cleaning up around the stones. Now days they use riding mowers which have wrecked many of the older stones.
I could never do lawn work like this my OCD would keep me there racking down the to dirt combing the grass all the same direction, I did it as a 8 year old in my backyard play area. It was so clean my mother decided it was a prefect area to have a garden in. Drove me nuts she messed it all up lol.
I thought about the OCD aspect as well, I see all the leaves on fences in their videos, and I think I'd be there forever, making sure every bit was removed.
The website says this was 1 year ago. I'm watching in 2024. Soo... Quit a bit of difference. Mom has lost weight since then and wonderful son has gotten buffer😄👍 No riding lawnmower either. So glad you wonderful people are still out there do great jobs for deserving people. Much love to you both💕💕
I restore grave yards and stones as a service, free of course. Preserving our history. Graveyards this old are usually goverened by the State through the State Historical Society. There are rules that must be followed to protect the cemetery and present graves. So many tombstones have been damaged and yes even stollen. One of my local cemeteries had GPR (ground penetrating radar) used to locate unmarked graves. The graves were mapped and generic stones with Oak leaves were placed to mark the graves. What you are doing cleaning up that cemetery is wonderful and you will be blessed.🙏🙏🥰
@normadavidson-mm3ux You should consider also possibly doing your own TH-cam channel restoring the grave yards. That would be really cool to watch. 😊 just a suggestion
Ty both for cleaning up the cemetery wish more people would take the time to do this i watch a channel of a couple that does finding people graves in West Virginia they are kin to the Hatfield and McCoy family and they go to a lot of grave yards that are over grown .
Family cemeteries on their land was a great idea at the time. It meant families could stay together even in death. Maybe you know someone who could restore and level the headstones. Our history needs to be restored in this country. The deceased forged our way. They went through more trouble than we can even imagine. Giving them the respect they deserve, even in death, is our God given responsibility. Thank you for cleaning it up and giving us the opportunity to watch it. I just found your channel about 2 weeks ago and I am trying to catch up. I also watch Al Blaze and Spencer from the Blessing Boys. I love what you all do for people who can't. Restores my faith in humanity.

Glad to see that this historic cemetary has been registered. Since the time stamp says I'm "late to the party," reading as being posted 8 months ago, I hope you were involved in that decision to register the place, with the property owner's assistance and permission. GPR could find whether there are other graves on the site... A person is not "dead" as long as they are remembered. I don't know what your customs are in FL, but I've heard of a nice gesture, when finding such a hidden graveyard, is to pause in front of each visible and legible stone, speak the person's name, and add, "You are not forgotten." Posting on Find A Grave was also a helpful thing. Thank you for your kind efforts.
Thank You so much for cleaning this beautiful little cemetery up.❤️They need our respect just as much as someone who has passed in 2023. Again Bless you both for doing this. God will Bless the two of you ten fold.
Thank you both so much for showing these folks the respect their resting place needed so much. It's shameful to forget the generations that came before us. Our history. And I love old cemeteries, they can be so beautiful and interesting. Thanks for taking the time and effort to so some research and share it with us on these folks that are not NOT forgotten! God bless you~
If it has only one date and a lamb on top, its a child that died shortly after birth or stillborn baby. Very common symbol for that time era and even today. Always nice to see people clean up forgotten cemeteries. I'm sure the family would thank you if they could.
Yeah I knew there was an old cemetery here. Not my family so care factor ZERO. I'll just sip my drink in front of u while u work your guts out. 😮 Thank you so much guys for being such wonderful ppl❤ from this aussie chick.
What a wonderful job you did on that cemetery. Call me weird but when I’m out hurting and I run across these old cemeteries, I always stop and read them. I’m glad that you took care of this one so many are so unkept, makes you wonder why some of these people died so young, they must’ve lived hard, lives, a lot of babies and children too, probably just childhood diseases. Anyway, thank you again for cleaning up that cemetery and I did a wonderful job.
People on the other side very happy today , For what you did for them it seems simple but it is a great service for them , I thank you from the bottom of my heart . GOD Bless you !!!
I watch the first video. It was so interesting reading the comments and watching you clean it up which was back breaking work and a beautiful job. I’ll watch “the rest of the story “ when I finish the first part. Thank you for clearing that cemetery!
Thanks for showing the headstones. I find it very interesting. So many babies died at birth or shortly after back in the 1800's. So sad that life ended so soon for so many people back then. I think that by reading their information it makes them not forgotten.
I helped an elderly family at church that had a family cemetery. It was overgrown and need cleaning up. Several people volunteered and I had baby about 6 months old. I took him with me and he supervised all the grown ups. It was a rewarding and fun day. My friends have died and I wonder if anyone is keeping it cleaned up still. A usually ya'll did a great job.
I love you guys for this. Thank you. Mom im so happy to see your head covered lol. I watched one where the big spider was on you. I would have literally died right there on the spot !!! 😂😂😂 great job guys. The level of care and respect you showed this cemetery is wonderful. God’s blessings upon you always.
Love your videos. You and your mom work very well together. What is sad is that I went on google maps and located the cemetery. It does not look as bad as when the two of you cleaned it but no one has gone in there since you left. The home owner I thought would keep it clean since your work, it would not take but maybe 30 minutes to mow, it that. Thanks for all the work you do. Can't wait for your next adventure.
11-17-2023 @7:50 I noticed mom didn't jump the fence! Lol my family took care of a cemetery in ohio and I'm glad to see yall cleaning and taking the time to clean this one up! God bless yall !
Love what you guys do here. I know you are in my neck of the woods. It's fun trying to guess where you are. Also. The headstones. Are they registered on Find a Grave? You would be surprised how many people are looking for relatives even that far back.
I love that old-fashioned wire fencing. There is a remnant in my backyard, probably when my house was built in the 1880s. I cherish it and wouldn't dream of replacing it.
I commend you on cleaning up a hidden graveyard. The last time I visited a graveyard was on a ghost tour. And apparently I was disturbing the area by stepping on people's final resting place that I got a severe headache after, so I never visited a graveyard that I'm not familiar with ever again. Great job!

Thankl you! I checked on Find A Grave and the family is already listed there. The history is fascinating! Bless you for cleaning that up.
I really enjoyed the story in the description. Thanks for adding it.
When clearing brush you might try using a stump killer. Awesome results. You are not only making this cemetery clean and accessible, but you are also preserving history. Thank you.

@@lorenrobertson8039just amazing feeling to know where family is buried. Our generation doesn't give a darn.😢 shame
I have walker in my tree too
Maybe that was him hollering at 10:38?!!
That's awesome

It is so sad to see people quit cleaning cemeteries thanks for taking your time to do it. .
I love watching you guys. I think doing side by sides would show more of what you are doing than the stacked ones

So glad you added information on the family cemetery above, so at last they are "not forgotten" hopefully the county will keep it up now! Amazing find & so glad you checked out the "weeds" a loving family once lived there!
We actually mow the lady’s property and each time we mow we also mow the cemetery as well. It doesn’t take as long now that it’s being maintained. ☺️

The real small stones are foot markers. Most of the time if they have any markings on them they will be the initials
Yea, in edit we noticed that we got the backside of one of the markers and their were initials on it.
