during the summer of 1998, you could not turn on the radio, go to a bar, etc. without hearing this song. It is a great song and, at this point, very nostalgic for those of thus old enough to remember.
This is my all time favourite song. I was trying to figure out this song by myself and then saw your video. This is amazing and I loved it. God bless you dear. I will definitely try this version 😊😊❤❤
Hello! 😃 Thanks so much for the love and support! ✨🙏 I’m so glad my lessons have been so helpful and inspiring! 🎵 glad it’s helped you play this awesome tune!
Just love your channel. I'm 57 & started playing guitar at 12 in 1978. Took a lonnnng break (dont know why) for 27 years. Been back at it for 3 years now & this is definitely one of my favorite songs from the 90's... .thanks! ❤
That’s awesome that you have found your way back to music and playing your guitar 🎸 🎵🙏 it’s like a bike! Just keep at it and it all comes flooding back to you! Glad you enjoyed my lesson, thanks so much for tuning in 😁🎵🙏
Just heard this song while having my coffee in Starbucks and here you go - your marvelous tutorial!!! Will learn the song for sure, it has such a nice vibe😍
Shew Amber, this is such an awesome song, and it suits your voice beautifully ❤ It was an excellent lesson once again. You are such a special music teacher 😊
Hey Amber, thank you so much ! Strong performance and an interesting strumming pattern, this one's going to take a little while to learn - challenge accepted 😃😅
Great job. I think I see that you really enjoyed performing this one in your mini play thru. Did you have videos on how to perform these as the singing on this one is a little trickier than usual. Also would love to see you do a full blown performance of some of the songs you’ve taught us.
Hi Keith! Thank you 🙏 yeah i really did enjoy performing this one- quite a stretch though on the vocals that’s for sure! 😅 I do not currently have videos where I teach about performing (vocal specific) I am not vocally trained, so I just sing from the heart! 😄 really appreciate your kind words, maybe one day I’ll perform these songs instead of just teaching 🎵✨
Thanks so much! I’m so glad you enjoyed my tutorial 😊 you know, I’ve been teaching Stick Season to some of my 1:1 pupils. I’d love to do a full blown tutorial on TH-cam!
Another great video, thanks for sharing! I do have a song request for you "grand optimist by city and colour" there are no really good tutorials on this particular song, maybe you can do something for us, thanks again!
I've never dug into the song so deeply until we decided to do it in my duo. That F chord in the verse has an E flat color tone in the key part. I was like....what? LOL
Hello 😊 if the strings are all tuned to standard tuning (EADGBE) then the capo should still go on the 5th fret, no matter the scale of your guitars neck ✨🎵
@@thestellarguitarist . Gracias. Soy principiante tengo 57 añós, no se inglés pero lo explicas tan bien que entiendo sin problemas las indicaciones. Saludos desde México.
I'm struggling a lot with the speed of the strumming , any tips on how to improve that ? Using a metronome isn't helping either. I haven't even gotten to the part of layering the vocals over the strumming.
Hi Shivani 😊 Torn is a really tricky song, it’s very fast and the strumming pattern is played in 16th notes. Have you tried using the setting cog on the video and turning the speed down? That might help?
@@thestellarguitarist hehe thanks Amber but I got the strumming down, just can't do it fast enough 😅 and without having the required speed the vocals just don't fit! 😅
Oooh interesting! 😅 I’m really sorry to say but I would absolutely butcher the language - I am so sorry, I don’t think this is something I’d be very good at 🙈
❤❤❤so beautiful❤❤❤ u sing wow... Pls plan to come ok india goa so we play live..... ❤❤❤❤❤❤I am not a best guitar player..... I learning from years hehehe😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Wonder why the capo, have you tried thr way Natalie's band played it, intro F, F sus 4, F , F sus 2, F. Verse, F, AM, B Flat 7. Prechourus Dm, C, AM, C , Chorus F, C, Dm, B flat 7
Hey Marty 😊 there are many ways to play any song. I guess the focus and aim of my tutorials is to help those players who are at the more beginner stage of their guitar journey and are not familiar with barre chords. I provide easier alternative for them to play songs 😊
Hi Amber am from sri lanka my name is keerthi and 55 old i like to lean practice guitar if you like to send me chord sheets i try to practice thank you 🙏
yes, yes, yes, 🥰😍🥰😍😁, we are going to make Nicole sing 😇, Amber an angel falling from the sky with a guitar, at home in Belgium there is Asterix and Obelix, who fell into the magic potion, well with this teacher it's the same, it's Magicyes, yes, yes,🥰😍🥰😍😁,nous allons faire chanter Nicole 😇,Amber un ange tomber du ciel avec une guitare, chez nous en Belgique il y a Asterix et Obelix ,qui est tomber dans la potion magique ,et bien avec ce professeur c'est pareil ,c'est Magique Amber Merci
Am I the only one struggling with the strumming 🙈 fine during the practice parts but then seems to get so much quicker during the play through and I can’t get the timings right..
I saw you mentioned different strumming options but only one was shown in the video, do you have any tips how to get faster at strumming or do you know the bpm of this song? Want to try all the tactics to get this song down 😅
Go slower, and build up. Work on loosening that wrist. It takes time, be patient. Have shorter practice sessions with good technique. Not longer sessions when you get tired and sloppy. Start at the bpm that allows you to follow the strum pattern. You have to crawl before you walk and before you run. Work on a slow strum with good technique and build up to faster. It'll come, Just don't quit.
@@Bexhodgkiss the song is 96bpm. you can also play this using the good old DDU-UDU which works just as well! 😁 if you want to nail the strumming pattern I teach in the video, play it slower first. Anything you can do slowly, you should be able to do at a faster pace. Patience and practice 🙏🏽
Natalie Imbruglia didn’t write this song or play the guitar. The song was written by Scott Cutler and Ann Preven. Ann Preven sang this song. Natalie Imbruglia made it into an overplayed commercial pop song.

I think you Mahogany Taylor sounds great for this song. It makes the chords sound crisp! Great song for our group. Thanks.

F major is not built with first finger on 6th fret of E string ?
Nope, might have looked that way in the video but I was not physically squeezing that string down so it’s muted.
