Fantastic interview knocked out of the park Dave , Charlie another brilliant chat about everything and I am still seathing about Rory Skinners situation won't go on about that .Very honest views from Charlie on the whole british issue with MotoGP so frustrating also for M Lav as well . Thanks to Off Track getting people in touch with all different aspects of the sport as a whole more power to the whole team for the chance to get to meet so many of the fantastic people involved in the best sport in the world bar none and my only interest sportwise luv it cheers I've been glued to the screen 😁👌👍💫
Thanks so much, CM! We’re doing our best to bring the best guests we can and Charlie is right up there with them 😉 yep, difficult times for Rory in Moto2 but he’ll seize his chance in BSB and very difficult for MLav, the back story to losing VisionTrack is a real shame but MLav’s a man of his word and that’s so important in our sport.
Fabulous…Nice to hear Charlies background , very interesting chap and always like his grid walks and interviews , never shirks the questions we want to hear…..great podcast…chapeau
I was on the PB Frenzy that Charlie speaks of. Absolutely mental. Loads of pissed up idiots thrashing round then getting pissed again. If my memory serves me correctly, the beer tent was burned down when they ran out of ale.
Excellent interview with a fantastic guest. Having been in the paddock a couple of times at WSBK I have to agree with Charlie's opinion regarding Max Biaggi. Every single rider I met, it was no (apparent) trouble to them to just get a (very) quick photo, or autograph. Max....nope, I first met him and there were two small kids and myself, palmed off the kids and just walked straight passed us. I wasn't bothered for me, but the two kids..meh. Another time he just popped off his paddock scooter and again only 3, 4 folk he still ignored everyone and straight to his garage. You never know what's going on in someone's head but as I say, every other rider, Nori, Troy (Bayliss & Corser) and a good few others, no problem.
Courtesy was never in Max’s vocabulary, and it stood out so much more when his peers were so accommodating - I’ve seen the current WorldSBK Champ do the same thing on many an occasion and it just makes them look silly. Hopefully meeting the other riders more than made up for the little Italian fella’s ignorance.
@OffTrack_Podcast Yeah...some folks seem to forget WHY they are there really. Without an audience, there's no racing. It was the walking straight passed two 5, 6 year olds? That did it for me.
A cool chat and good to hear and learn Charlie's history... wasn't it the talk that Joe Roberts was the one who turned down the Aprilla ride a few years ago...??
Another great one, really enjoyed it. The people who aren't riders have just as interesting a story to tell. Joe Roberts was the bloke you couldn't remember, who turned down the Aprilia MotoGP ride. Whoops. Is Matt Llewellyn on your radar for a future episode, he's been on both sides and has seen BSB evolve since the late eighties.
That’s the fella! Just couldn’t remember 😁 Sure, Matt’s definitely on the radar and we’ll hopefully be sitting down with him once the BSB season is underway 🙏🏼
There’s been a great response to the show, Paul and thanks for adding to that. Plenty more shows to come that are already in the bag plus a couple of secret ones that we can’t share yet… 😉
It certainly raised a few eyebrows at the time but now knowing the back story it’s a more difficult watch knowing where Charlie was personally at the time 🙏🏼
Absolutely LOVED it, great insights into the world of bikes, Charlie is one of my fav commentators in MotoGP, loved his grid walks in WSB too. Was so engrossed I even said Joe Roberts out loud when Charlie couldn't remember the rider who turned down the Aprilia ride 😂 Dorna need to ask us, the fans, what we think about the aero, ride height, tyre situation cos if they mess it up we will turn to WSB, thanks Dave for another brilliant podcast
Much appreciated, Ash - we’re working hard to build it from the ground up. I’m not a famous racer or journo so it takes a little longer to get word out there but we’re trying 😄
I’d love to have Mat on and one day we’ll make that happen, he’s a fascinating and knowledgeable fella - as for me going on his show, sadly that’s VERY unlikely to happen as I’m not in his MotoGP orbit or in anyway fascinating, Chris 😁
@@OffTrack_Podcast it makes me feel really old lol. Sound levels have got better. Cracking. Genuinely interesting. Looking forward to the new season and hearing you
@@sozzle600 Grange Hill was a favourite of mine, too - right back to Gripper Stebson and Tucker Jenkins 😁 I’m working hard to make the sound the very best I can with my limited skills (same with the video edits, both on a really slow laptop 😂) but really glad you’ve noticed the improvement. Domestic season not too far away and a raft of chats to come from BSB 🙌🏼

37mins in and i cant hep but just smile and relate to Charlies passion for bikes!
I've got alot of time for charlie, he's a top bloke and helped me several times over the years.
Nice to hear, Paul 😊
Excellent episode. Good to hear the truth regarding the rider situation with Laverty's team. Always liked Charlie Hiscott.
I saw that Lavilla interview live. Greg was fuming but Charlie was absolutely right to pull his card. I note that it is not on the internet at all…..
I was on the PB Frenzy that Charlie speaks of. Absolutely mental. Loads of pissed up idiots thrashing round then getting pissed again. If my memory serves me correctly, the beer tent was burned down when they ran out of ale.
That’s exactly what happened Phil, the frenzies didn’t last long!
That was absolutely bloody outstanding do is all graces just straight talking love it make sure job Dave so simply brilliant 👏👏
Very kind of you, Nick - thanks so much 🙏🏼
I've said it time and again on various platforms, I'll never tire of a Charlie Hiscott interview. Great vid!
Thanks a lot, Simon and I agree, he’s a great fella 😉
What a belter of a podcast , superb honesty top bloke ✊
Thanks so much, Bing 🙌🏼
Great chat guys, really enjoyed it 👍
Cheers, Steve! 🙂
How refreshing that he works for MotoGP but not afraid to mention their pitfalls. Open and honest. Here else and who else gives you this.
Great fella with a great insight - glad you enjoyed it ✊🏼🙌🏼
And I thought Frankie was the best guest!!! Keep the non racers coming! Such insight!👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks so much, Phil 🙏🏼 well, you’re in luck… the next few weeks go Woodage/Neave Twins/Haydon/Parrish/Whitham/Valentine 😉

@OffTrack_Podcast Yeah...some folks seem to forget WHY they are there really. Without an audience, there's no racing. It was the walking straight passed two 5, 6 year olds? That did it for me.
Brilliant Dave, just brilliant 👏
Thanks so much, Iain 🙏🏼

Good shout, Craig! Yeah could well have been… and thank you for your kind words 😊

one of the best yet mate, what a nice chap
Cheers, Phil 😁
Brilliant that, always enjoy listening to Charlie. His enthusiasm just oozes out. Another subscription added. 👍
Very kind words, thank you 🙂 and your sub is really appreciated 🙏🏼
The lavilla incident was comedy gold!!!! Remember watching it. Was like the angriest interview !!
It certainly raised a few eyebrows at the time but now knowing the back story it’s a more difficult watch knowing where Charlie was personally at the time 🙏🏼
Great video and chat with Charlie... Great to hear about his background and about his passion and his hard work for the sport 👍
Thanks a lot, Mike 🙌🏼

Great interview Charlie really tells it how it is a lot of common sense there !!
That was very good. Thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it, thank you 🙏🏼
Brilliant Charlie, what a career
Thanks Gordon, really glad you enjoyed the show 🙌🏼
I knew it was going to be brilliant 😊.
Appreciate your confidence, Jason 😁
@OffTrack_Podcast no problem matey , keep up the great work.
Joe roberts is the rider that turned down the aprillia
That’s him! Thanks, Steve 😁
Sure its been mentioned before but an interview with Ryder n Moody together would be good..... Enjoying the content 👍
We’ll do our best, Andy 😁 Jules isn’t too far away in Macclesfield 🙏🏼
This podcast doesn’t get the views / exposure it deserves
Much appreciated, Ash - we’re working hard to build it from the ground up. I’m not a famous racer or journo so it takes a little longer to get word out there but we’re trying 😄
One of the best on TV. Shame he got shafted by Eurosport over the new approach to what they wanted on screen
Proper bloke Charlie. Would be shit house getting interviewed by him during a crisis, or a tough time though 😂
😂
Get Mat Oxley on the pod, then you can go on his pod too.
I’d love to have Mat on and one day we’ll make that happen, he’s a fascinating and knowledgeable fella - as for me going on his show, sadly that’s VERY unlikely to happen as I’m not in his MotoGP orbit or in anyway fascinating, Chris 😁
Brilliant podcast. My only criticism is Charlie saying flippin. It's like an episode of grange hill lol.
If that’s your only criticism, Sozzle, I’ll take that 😉 thanks for your kind words 🙏🏼

This episode needs renaming Charlie flipping hiscott yeah. Top stuff yet again
Thanks so much 😊
Is it only me or anybody else think that host of this show look like Casey Stoner?
I’ll take that as a compliment 😁
