Serbian army is also using a large number of Pinzgauers.There are also data that Pinzgauer, also used by the armies of Austria, United Kingdom, Argentina ....The only problem of this vehicle, which is a large fuel consumer over 25 liters per 100km, depends on the driving conditions of the mind and over 25 liters to consume. • @NihadH
      @NihadH 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      bernard_hossmoto They are not solid portal axles. Pinzgauer has a special independent suspension design (both front and rear) with double coil spring suspension. It has a unique massive central tranamission tunnel which also serves as a part of the suspension.
      The entire transmission and suspension design was optimized for high speed driving on uneven terrain while having maximum ground clearance at the same time. These vehicles can travel so fast on uneven ground and still maintain good ground contact, that most typical all terrain passenger vehicles (for example Land Rover Defender) would lose control at such speeds and swerve off the desired trajectory. This ability is why the vehicle carries the name of a thoroughbred Austrian horse species.

      Better in which regard?
      It's stupid to say something is better than another, when these are total different animals:
      Pinzgauers are very small, 710 just over 4 meters, very light, roughly 3 ton. Unimogs today are ALL over 7.5 to category -- so how to compare? A truck with 2.3 meters height to a truck with 3 meters? A truck with 235/85-16 to a truck with 20“ wheels like 12.5“???
      A Mercedes G even in military category had a 2.8l cdi engine and lot of power, a Pinzgauer 710 had roughly 80 HP. If you need to go “fast“ a Pinz is not an option.
      So in which regard is it better now?

      Runs circles around slow unimogs, and small enough to fit on tight forest trails. I can drive my pinz 710k faster offroad than most unimogs can go onroad.

      I had a 712k with 4x4 Petrol engine designed for radio link. Then his factory price was 62000eu, 6x6 is more expensive.
      Extremely terrain vehicle for extreme conditions.
      Worth every eu for what it offers. And more of these prices.

      no, production is stopped entirely
      they are not very fuel efficient, yet reliable and sturdy luke barely any other truck
      trucks that can be compared to this type are the volvo 202 and 303, also the mercedes "unimog" is a modern truck that is in the same ligue

    One of the more capable military transport vehicles in existence. But what they don't tell you is that they are an uber expensive nightmare to keep well maintained. And the cab is terribly designed for the larger sized soldiers. And required wearing grade 5 ear protection.........in a vehicle manufactured this century. Not flash at all.

      No. Not anymore. How very stupid: BAE buys the factory and rights to produce the vehicle and then decides that it does not make sense to do it. Welcome to the world of Big Corp.
