Fingers crossed Hasbro produce an Endor Rebel Commando to this standard in their back series too.
I feel as though that figure will be even cooler. I like how the prices on this army builder are still reasonable for the collectors. I so want to see an endor strike team on my shelf. 😎

Just imagine re-creating the Hoth scene with these figures confronting the AT-AT and Stormtroopers...I don't have the figures to play withbut I feel so like a kid again.

Pretty much everything tat hasbro has put out since 2018 with the introduction of their photo real face print tech has been very high quality with the regular inclusion of butterfly joints and great looking figures

Maybe it's me, but there's an Action Force vibe coming from this figure. The figure does look great, and those soldiers were solid looking in Empire. I absolutely like that alternative face technology, hope to see that more. I like you doing a single figure reviews when warranted, let us know when you think something is that special. I knew you would love this figure. It was a win all around for everyone and proves Hasbro can still do good when they put their best foot forward. This figure and Dengar are just amazing pieces.
I can see why you're so impressed with these, they're excellent. It's nice to see so much thought and artistry being put into these figures. I love my vintage Kenners (I still have my childhood collection!) but I never liked the brown Hoth troopers much, I mean... brown in the snow? Terrible camouflage...looked nothing like the guys in the film... never got one, cos there was always other figs I wanted more.
I just bought the entire set of these carded black series figures and might have to get another one of these to unpack for the speeder display, such a great figure!
Absolutely agree. Including the 2 weapons you have above 30 variations if I remember correctly. Hoping they will do something similar with a Endor Rebel commando.
This is without doubt the best Black Series figure I have seen to date. It is streaks ahead of other figures in terms of versatility. It has a great sculpt with 2 very convincing face sculpts, and it makes army building fun because of all the combinations you can achieve. Awesome!!!! and Hasbro has done all this in a £20 6" figure. The Hot Toys and side show figures you mentioned are not at all comparable as they are 12-15 x the price of this and they are twice the size being 1/6 scale figures. Even other 'Premium' 6" figures from the likes of Mafex or Bandai don't measure up to this figure for versatility and they are 3-4 x the price of this. Hasbro knocked this one out of the park!!!! Best figure ever? yes possibly, and definitely a top contender for that title.
Crap, now I'm going to need to run out and get a few of these....

Good old Zartan mask in a case tech nice
If they did it for a Star Wars army builder figure, I don't see why Hasbro wouldn't take the same approach if they eventually release a Zartan figure for the GI Joe Classified Series, other than they seemingly care more for a licensed property than one they actually own.
Reminds me of the Zartan I had as a kid although I think he changed colour in sunlight

She has her blaster in her holster her staff on her back around her and a nice long blue lightsaber

I’ve been avoiding Black Series 6” figures ever since they started making them since I’m a die hard 3.75 collector and I didn’t feel that the sculpts on the 6” were all that great, but recently Hasbro has really stepped up their game and I needed to pick up some of these newer releases as soon as I saw them. The Admiral Ackbar, Teebo and Mandalorian figures were some of the very first I picked up and they far surpass anything achievable in the 3.75 scale.
Also I recommend the new stormtrooper.

Great figs, have a few 40th anniversery figs, just can't bring maself to removing them off the cardback. Hasbro needs to have like a trap door bubble. Top review, thx.

Nice! Thanks for spotlighting this figure. I definitely want to get a few. My only gripe is that Hasbro didn't take the opportunity of including a darker skinned face. That is a glaring oversight on this one in my book. I am hoping for a comparable Endor soldier though.
These Star Wars Black Series Hoth Rebel Soldiers from Hasbro, elicit high praise from Tony, in this comprehensive action figure review, from Analog Toys.
Simply put, this is an impressive action figure, that would look amazing in anyone's Star Wars collection.
However, my one query would be, why didn't Hasbro include a complete alternate head, as they regularly do with the Marvel Legends figures?
I’ve just customised x4 Black Series figures to resemble Palitoy Space Force figures. Now I want to get these and make a Z Force. Are you going to look at GI Joe Classified?

6:24 I believe that was simply one of several continuity errors by Kenner at the time. The vintage Kenner 3.75" _Rebel Soldier_ figure does not match the uniform shown in the photo on its card back, nor the rebel ground forces manning the trenches outside Echo Base. However, that vintage figure *does* accurately depict the uniforms worn by most rebel personnel working *inside* Echo Base on Hoth.
Look at the uniform worn by the Echo Base deck officer, the workers manning consoles in the base command center, and many other random rebel personnel. Practically every other person is wearing that brown vest uniform while *inside* the base. Notice that Princess Leia's Hoth outfit is a slight variation of that same uniform.
The vintage Kenner _Rebel Commander_ 3.75" figure has a white uniform which includes a molded backpack, and is a relatively accurate replica of the rebel trench forces in their outdoor Hoth battle gear. In the film, the brown vest uniform appears to be standard issue indoor attire worn by many at Echo Base, while the white coat with the backpack was an outdoor battle gear attire worn by rebel forces manning the base ground defenses. Kenner simply fouled up the _Rebel Soldier_ figure's attribution in its marketing literature and on the card back, and that discrepancy happened to stick.
Well shit! This is awesome because I got 2 Hoth soldiers and was a little upset that I didn’t even get one bearded guy. I thought it was random. I didn’t open the carded figures because I was waiting on the boxed version to open. I think I have a boxed one on pre-order.
I used to own these two screen used weapons (yes the real ones) the Rebel blaster and Rifle as my uncle worked on all three of the original Star Wars movies at Elstree film studios, he gave me them as a gift back in 1982 as they were due to be destroyed and thrown away by the studios so thankfully he managed rescued them, so I'm able to tell you from first hand experience that the toy versions featured in your video of these weapons are exactly correct as both of my guns were painted completely black from end to end there was no other paint of any type on them, no weathering and definitely no silver tip on the blaster that was only done for Carrie Fisher's blaster all the troops had completely black blasters.
They are quite good, now somebody needs to make a John Ratzenberger face sculpt and the left handed gun sculpt and it will be perfect.
Everybody else does the same thing, no originality, everybody is the same.
this guy is great he's not doing what everybody else is doing I love this.
my only complain about the blasters is the missing power cell or the magazine.
Very good review! You made reviewing a 'generic' figure. Essentially 'army builders', ironically, its hard to actually do, simply because, odds are, your folks won't allow it ("You already have one!"), and there's no real variety.
As you noted, Tony, there are few genericized figures with differing features to justify getting it. (Stormtroopers,, being derived from clones of Jango Fett, are the exception.)
The alternative face and hidden backpack compartment was a throwback to Hasbro's original G. I. Joe Zartan figure which had an alternate mask accessory, also hidden in his backpack. And speaking of Joes...
G. I. Joe's generic Cobra Troopers are another example- their filecards flag them as from 'various countries', yet all are Caucasian!

Some of the star wars figures seem so detailed they turn me off. This one has more and it all works together.

What you missed and what I dont get why Hasbro would go through the trouble of making this figure so excellent but then settle on black elastic for the goggles instead of white.
The army builder everyone needs!
I tried to build an entire stormtrooper army but I don't have the room so I decided to just get a few ramdom troopers and make a hit squad like Inglorious Bastards
I have one on a chicken walker and one of the black troopers on one of the new design speeder bikes
I might need a couple more to better hunt rebel scum

I would give plenty of black series figures to children, I would never give them a $400 Hot Toys figures...
@@AnalogToys giving these larger figures to kids to play with & having the companies making figures with the adult market in mind are two separate things
All I'm saying is do you think when Hasbro wre brainstorming these, do you think they were looking at the older market? It is a collector's world now after all, doesn't matter what the price tag is, be it £25 or £200

Hasbro definitely knocked it out of the park with this release! My favourite Black series release of this year and possibly one of the top figures of the entire line!
A different ethnicity face would have been nice too.

I think it was the Rebel Fleet Trooper (Tantive IV), which was a nice surprise since that figure had a removable vest. You wouldn't know it was there until you opened the package.

I have just found this video. Tony, I have to agree with you wholeheartedly. The figure is absolutely amazing. I have five of the figures, four are perfect, but one has loose ankle joints which makes him difficult to stand at times. 8:05

@@georgeaitken2719 I did pick up a snowspeeder because it was one of my absolute favorite ships that Kenner ever made. It's beautiful but it's huge and hard to display.
Also makes it easy to make custom faces, cut the faces off any wrestler guys and there you go!
In 1980 when they originally released the rebel soldier technically he should have been the rebel commander because he was sculpted like the characters in the rebel base the rebel commander figure was the rebel trooper and was sculpted with the backpack and a rifle the figure is the closest to this modern version love both versions
