I've been waiting for Losi to get back into the mini market! I hope they make the mini sct, I still have mine, and my Bull Terrier loves chasing it through the house! Hopefully the battery in this fits the early cars, so they will be easier to get!
"Do you think this release will get a micro race scene going..." Are you serious with this nonsense? Tiny RC's are trending because the micro race scene is already going and has been for some time. What other scale has a series that let's people race at home against people from around the world? That's right micros. Look up Mini 96 and if you know about that already and the fact that the micro racing scene has already taken off then stop asking questions you already know the answer to and be more authentic. This micro is just an addition to a scale that's already proven to be successful and you can thank Kyosho for that, because they are the ones that got the micro race scene going. To answer your question, just like every other release, most will be bashed (used in the house) and about 30% will be raced. I also think it's great that Losi re-entered the micro market and strongly feel this release will attract more to the hobby than their recent NASCAR release.
The RC cars that got me into the hobby 15 years ago were the micro T and DT, I miss cutting up old gift cards to make custom length steering linkages to adjust the toe angle 😂
@@JPV331 seems like that’s the case for many! I took some time to go through my (very badly filmed) old Losi micro clips. So much nostalgia but the upgrades on the new b look awesome!
ITS FUCKING BACK HOLY SHIT. Imma relive my childhood memories. Had a Losi Micro T I had built up with the carbon fiber chassis, 10900kV brushless motor and 11.1V lipo. Slapped on the micro monster truck wheels and was hitting easily 50mph
what did break, as it is so light but with brushless I suppose pinions, spur gear, cvd's, bearings, or even shock tower breaking and needing carbon one, what else could break ? Thx.
@@rccarloverluxembourg718 the micro T doesn't exist anymore, nor do any of the upgrades. Everything broke. Even upgraded everything broke because the brushless motor was simply too much for the gearbox. The micro B who knows. I haven't touched an RC car in 10 years but may come back for this guy
@@FrozenByFire3 haven't touched any for 22 years, but bought 122 in the last 18 months, so a total of 225 now. Wow everything broke, wow. My tuned 50 mph Associated RC18T full alloy did one acceleration, pinion went away, my Losi Micro-T fully tuned 1 acceleration, Mamba motor axle broke but got new motor and never ran it :-)
You are comparing apples to oranges and there is a place for both. If you do own a Mini Z buggy then you know it's worth the price of admission and if you've been in RC awhile you would also know that Kyosho is a premium brand and they have always been on the pricey side. Losi has always been and I don't mean this in a negative manner, a blue collar brand.
I had two micro Ts back in the day. I had a fresh park skate ramp and me and my roommate would race those things with that big jump for them. It was so much fun.
I bought mine today. I got the yellow wheel one and tested it out in the store track and had a few bumps and hits, and encountered myself fixing it up in the store. The steering link pins came out of place and noticed a bit of turn sway on it. And managed to put the steering rack was a challenge to put back very tiny screws.
I generally don't like buggies but would take an oval /rallycross conversion kit in an instant. With this having what are basically SCX24 electronics, what are the odds that an SCX24 brushless system would fit? And yes, a tiny dirt track about the size of a standard residential deck would be fun. Even if it becomes a cement-like hard pack
There are much better options for this buggy than what is made for the SCX24. There are sensored brushless motors and ESC's out there for micros that are track/race proven. Check out Kenon Hobby. Check out GL Racing.
Yeeeei.... finally :D I'm still rockin' my micro HighRoller around the living room, fully hopped up, converted to brushless, but with the same crappy friction shocks and paper thin plastic steering "links"; hoping they release the whole line-up they had back in the day (T, sct, MT) and (at least) the shocks will fit on the older models.
Losi may have discontinued their micros, but the class never died, so it can't return, because it never went anywhere. Losi's aren't the only micros in town, there is Kyosho (the original micro), Atomic, GL Racing, etc...
I will wait for the Micro-T, doesn't really have any advantages over my two kyosho mini-z buggies and I already have all the spare parts and upgrades for them. That out of the box speed is perfect 12-13 mph is around the same as the stock mini-z buggy and you can squeeze a bit more out of it on the top end if you swap the spur and pinion gears with the included ones.
I have a stock Kyosho buggy and I highly doubt it tops out at 12-13 mph with a lower turn motor and less powerful batteries. This is also going to drive a bit differently than the Kyosho due to it being RWD and it's slightly longer and wider. They are completely different animals, why not have both on the shelf and a T.
I'm in the same boat as you, the brand and staff have left a really bad taste in my mouth, but I'm a sucker for micros. I'm really hoping some other manufacturers see the value in releasing a 2wd buggy that directly competes with this one. Hello Associated...Are you listening?
I’d buy this in an instant, if it came with a proper a servo, and a brushless system. I’ve had this servo on my 1/24 Axial, and the thing retired on me so quickly. Beautiful little thing though
Wow, oil filled shocks in this size is really cool! Great little Buggy over all 👍🏻 But not a revolution. I bought the 1:28 wl Toys 284161 Truggy for under 60 bucks last year. It has 4wd, open diffs, lights, runs around 20 mph and is really smooth to drive.
As long as the gears in the gearbox aren't soft plastic and it's used as intended I'm betting it holds up much better than the original micros and I think it's safe to say they will perform a lot better as well.
@senorpinchegringo7623 that's my feeling, after getting a brushless mini-t 2.0 I could tell the minis/micros have come a really long way..that thing is on rails out of the box!
Totally different animals and they won't compete in the same class. You are looking at it the wrong way, because they compliment each other and most micro fans will own both. FYI, they make a brushless version of the MB-010 and Kyosho sells a board/brushless motor upgrade kit, so it's not that hard to upgrade the Kyosho to brushless.

Just ordered one. My first jump into this new hobby.
Welcome brother! But watch out. These things are addictive!
I think these will be awesome on carpet and also clay.
This video convinced me to go out and buy 2 of them. They're so much fun!
We can only hope for a Micro-T as well and the 1/24th rally car..favorite mini/micros of all time!
Definitely getting one. If they make a truggy version that would be awesome.
This is cool but the Micro T is what I really want. That's gonna be an instant purchase. Let's go Losi!
Just pre ordered one. Gonna build a little foam track for it just in time for winter
Hope they go full on and do a truggy and rally car as well! This is sweet!

Carisma gt24b contender, but on 2wd. Seems pretty good.

I still have my losi micro crawler loved that thing back in the day
That little car moves. Looks like Losi has a winner.
Great package and looks totally fun as is, but can't wait to start seeing these with brushless upgrades.
A must have. And now I can buy extra sets of these oil shocks for my other 1/24 for sure for my rage treck
