Ya man. That's the only thing that sucks about doing drum corps during highschool, is coming back and you end up picking out the littlest details. The atmosphere of it is totally different. I am a senior now, but I wasn't a douche or anything when I cam back, but it's so hard to keep your cool with everyone. Lol.
I came back to Texas Tech after being a trumpet in The Cadets and played f horn for marching because the trumpet book was a laugh and we were playing 95-96 Scouts shows so the horn rips were hilarious and fun to goof around with in between Trumpet master class and lessons.
Legend has it that you can hear the voice of God if you keep it on constant repeat while sobbing uncontrollably in total darkness about the meaningless of life and uselessness of effort
Where they were warming up is exactly where I warmed up at Atlanta regionals with my corps this past season. That is until the bottom dropped out and forced us into the stadium.
I can just hear the pep talk right before they started singing: “Remember guys, we all know they’re ‘so effing special’, but people are watching, so don’t forgot its ‘so very’ special’.” Haha. 😂😂
@SialmaT The lyrics are: When you were before I look in the eyes Your just like an angel Your skin makes me cry I want you to notice When I am not a round Your so very special I wish i was special But iam a creep Iam a weirdo What hell am i doing here I don't belong here
I wish you the best of luck and can tell you as an alumni it is well worth the work and the practice. Work Hard, Have Fun and remember always have fun first.
@PLEASTDrum A lot of corps, and bands in general for that matter, are taught to sing their music in addition to playing it. If a hornline can sing their music that well, they can probably play it that well.
Ya man. Fair decision. I am taking a break from it this year, and will most likely go back to it next year. There was a reason why I took a break though. Focusing on school, got a job finally, finance..I will try out for bluecoats next year though.
I want to know what its like to be a part of something like this. One day. Some day. Some time within the next I will audition for DCI. Not sure what band yet, but I know I want to do guard.
@BARITONESWAGJOE well typically if you try out for a corps... you have lots experience with music, a musician is a musician and typically if you can play an instrument (like i had for 11 years before my rookie year) you'll be fine
@asianman23100 It's cause woodwinds don't belong on the field. But seriously, it's because it's drum and BUGLE corps. The most traditional of marching bands (they used to only march bugles with no valves and the drums).
i just want to say that this video pisses me off!!! lol not really but it was amazing and i wish they would have finished the creep... and as a marcher of drum corp i can actually appreciate the hard work and dedication it takes to get to this point! I can watch this video a hundred times (which i probably have already) and my body will still be COVERED in goose bumps from the amazing sound y'all produce! good job! see y'all in finals again next year! :)
@superr00k In my opinion it is because of the Contras giving the other brass a loud, rock solid bass to play on top of, but I may be more than a little bias... :D
no, ive thought about blue devils and stuff but i currently dont want to join anything. i honestly just want to have a nice senior year next year and end marching band there. it'd be a good experience but i just dont want to fully.
switch to euphonium. the finger positions are really simple compared with a trombone. i played trombone from 5th grade to sophomore year. i marched euph this year and it was awesome. gonna end senior year marching band on euph. heres the positions or fingerings. 1st position-open. 2nd-2nd valve. 3rd-1st valve.4th-1 and 2 valves. 5th- 2 and 3 valves. 6th-1 and 3 valves. 7th- 1 2 and 3.
@@bullboy81 nope I actually joined the military after marching the 2011 and 2012 season (got out after 4 years of service). I still had few more years to march. 2015 would have been my age out but that's life I guess :).
Sorry about that. My mind just automatically put band. I was thinking corp, I was, but hands would not let me type it. There is a very loose connection between my brain and hands while typing.
sean lasker All the time! He is a really great marching instructor during marching season and hes our go to for dci info lol. And tbh hes actually one of our favorites. 😂 But we always ask him different stuff
i know what you mean haha. some people are horrible but you just gotta focus on yourself and do what you got to do. im just going to enjoy euph next year and try to have fun.
You could always switch. I've heard of people that learn another brass instrument and the fingerings in roughly a year and are about at corps level. It's bust your tail work, but possible. It should be easier actually since you already play brass... Too much information? lol
So the bluecoats can sing and play like absolute gods? I want to die
level daddie mercury acquired
Proof that singing helps you with the interpretation of the song :)
“Sing, mouthpiece, play”
"If you can't sing it, you can't play it!"
This is what that quote means and they play and sing it amazingly.
2017 it still gives me goosebumps and tears
Same
19 has arrived
20 is up next baby
Whitey ‘20 during corona, beat that
B Gzz 20’ presidential debate. Top that
I cried watching this; Chills down my spine. Can't get better than this.
Listen to Bryan Crum on AGT. Chills allover.
This gives me chils. My marching band played this last year and knowing that my favorite core played it makes me really happy
+Maura Salyard corps*
;)
We had one of the fancy highschools that has the director of Carolina crown do this 2 years ago
PraiseKmart Avon?
Came expecting to hear the hornline playing. Instead I got this and I am not at all disappointed
Watch the whole video
I thought porn was restricted on TH-cam
Hjhhj k what the hell
What?
Makes me c*m every time. Better than Bloo’s 2017 contra feature.
wtf

dang bro really questioned life with this one
Bro what
GREAT TEACHERS!
FANTASTIC KIDS!
THIS is why we do DRUM CORPS!
The wiere thing is a lot of these kids are now teachers :/
I just love how they can do the moves they do and still make it sound smoother than ice. Beautiful:D
Bonkers that this was 10 years ago. Still gives me goosebumps.
this gives me goosebumps every time... i like this a capella version more than the one on the field, but on the field is AMAZING, too.
This has to be the utmost prettiest thing ever.
We were always told "if you can sing it, you can play it"... those movements @1:30 are mesmerizing🔥🔥🔥
A moment these young adults will never forget
Where they were warming up is exactly where I warmed up at Atlanta regionals with my corps this past season. That is until the bottom dropped out and forced us into the stadium.
2020 still gives me chills
Saw this live in San Antonio. It was amazing!!
cannot believe it's almost been 10 years
And look at where the corps is now!
I can just hear the pep talk right before they started singing:
“Remember guys, we all know they’re ‘so effing special’, but people are watching, so don’t forgot its ‘so very’ special’.” Haha. 😂😂
500 of these views are from me, I guarantee it.
190k now :)
@@alexanderhamilton5838 Five years later and I still can't stop watching
I'm deceased this is so good
Major chills. I love this song, but I never really thought it would sound good on the field... Looks like the Bluecoats proved me way wrong.
God I can't wait to be out there with them. Hopefully next year if everything pans out the way it's supposed to :) nice job guys
I don't have anything to say, it's just been nine years since you commented this. Crazy lol
Coincidentally ended up marching the next two years with them-best two summers of my life!
@@bassoon9412 That's great! Sadly I never ended up marching with anyone because of various reasons, but I still love to attend the shows!
@@bassoon9412 that’s amazing. I hope to march with them.
This is the only thing that makes me regret picking a woodwind😭
When you see your band director :)
Chase Manhart 4 years no response, It’s ok chief
i hope i can tryout for Bluecoats one day!
Just curious... did you ever make your dreams come true?
I had the honor to work with Bob this weekend at the Jersey Surf. I'm so glad he came and fixed up some chords.
@SialmaT
The lyrics are:
When you were before
I look in the eyes
Your just like an angel
Your skin makes me cry
I want you to notice
When I am not a round
Your so very special
I wish i was special
But iam a creep
Iam a weirdo
What hell am i doing here
I don't belong here
This is part of my school’s marching show this year.
Simply put Amazing arrangement
they are just simply amazing
how dare you the original was amazing just that this sounded beautiful
Best opener of 2011!
The chord progressions on this song are just too much !!! GOOSIES !!!!
I wish you the best of luck and can tell you as an alumni it is well worth the work and the practice. Work Hard, Have Fun and remember always have fun first.
Oh my god.... so beautiful
The ultimate musicians.
i can't imagine what its like being in a hotel near them hearing them from half a mile away
Who the hell disliked this?!? What's wrong with them?!?!
They're probably Blue Devils. heehee!
not even BD fans can dislike this
Percussion jamming out in the background lol.
if you listen at the end you can hear Phantom Regiment playing
@PLEASTDrum A lot of corps, and bands in general for that matter, are taught to sing their music in addition to playing it. If a hornline can sing their music that well, they can probably play it that well.
SUMMER 18 beautiful
fantastic.
I would like to hear them sing their part for Brave New World when they are in the triangle at the beginning
This is that
Its creep, that's the name of this song

@Jpswan701 now the title makes much more sense! Thank You for the lyrics lol.
Gorgeous. Love it :)
That overtone though!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱

when you can tell what everybody plays based on what part they sang
This is how a director should have their brassline warm up.
There is a REASON why the Bluecoats are one of the loudest corps this year. And it isn't because they have more horns. :)
Have I watched this 100 times? Yes
Do I care? No
Am I gonna watch this another 10000 times before I die? You bet ;)
hell yea man :'))

why am I crying
This is Brave New World...why did he put 2011-creep as the title?
They're singing a song called Creep by Radiohead.
Come thru sharpesha!
@superr00k
Big throats! Sorry, couldn't resist myself hehe. But yes, their technique the past few years is really top notch on breathing and tuning.

I'm originally a trombone player, but i played euph at coats this year.
You know you have an amazing corps when you can take a band that I HATE like Radiohead and make me love it on the field.
Sing, Mouthpiece, Play.
hell yea trumpets
nice!!!!
You audition for a drum corps? Or currently in one?
They all look so young, haha. I hope to become a bluecoat. I already marched with 2 different corps. I always wanted to become a bluecoat.
did u become a blue coat

LizaTrevi what school donyou go to
sean lasker PSJA Memorial Victor Moyeda is one of my band directors.
sean lasker He was in the horn line!

Parker Hurst update: have you marched ? XD
The snare kinda sounds like the opener for "blue coats"
Uhhh, context? Because I don’t hear it
I know...me, too....
The girl (mello part) to the right of the conductor making very little facial expressions...is pretty cute haha

BOB!
