Even though I missed call back by 0.4 points, this was still one of the best experiences of my life. There isn't much like playing Creep at _ffff_ with 230 very talented and dedicated brass members, it's really something else. (and I'm now hard of hearing in my right ear)
I missed callback by 3 points (I'm a Euph player), though like, it was still a highly enjoyable experience. I've never been able to play with such a large group of people like that, and talented people nonetheless. Hopefully I'll see some of you next year, cuz you bet I'm gonna be trying again!
Hope you come back again and try out with the corps. I Marched in 1993 and can tell you that this corps is more than just a drum and bugle corps it is a family. Hope you come back and hope to call you a Bluecoat someday. Lets Go BLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
If our school's band played it, it would sound like Thomas the Train running over New York. Nice job to the auditioners, even if you didn't make it, you still had the chance to perform such a beautiful piece and touch the surface of what being a Bluecoat is like.
Absolutely, I missed the callback by .6 points, but I enjoyed every minute. We started playing at about 10:00 AM, and my private audition was at midnight. I feel a bit cheated, but I would never forget that experience. Here's to 2020 tryouts!
The one guy in the audience nodding his head with each step of the crescendo at 1:08 is literally me every time I hear this opener. Just hearing this made me want to do DCI
What he is saying is that in marching you should have a straight back (as straight as possible because the spine has a natural curve), but you can clearly see her back is very curved.
If you look closely, it actually looks like an optical illusion caused by the jacket she’s wearing. There’s a white logo that matches the floor. Although, she is standing really straight too lol.
i would give literally anything to be in this room. i get goosebumps every song time i watch this video. these videos make me want to quit percussion just to be able to march a brass instrument
I got the news that my marching band is getting to play this the upcoming season. I know we’re not ANYTHING CLOSE to dci, but dang this is an amazing piece of music and I’m so freaking exciting.
Performing these encore peices for the first time with an all brass hornline (if youre coming from highschool/ college) is such a great experience. I wished there was more of it at the callback camps
Wonderful, but oh my EARS, they are hurting just listening to this recording ! I'm an old guy that had the chance to audition on tuba/sousaphone for the 18th Army band back in '73. Didn't quite make it through a solo, one on one audition with the music director, a REAL acid test for sure. Miss those days marching and concerts with the highschool band.
I am guessing it will be important for me to get a baritone or euph of my own before trying to join, I am finishing my freshman year in highschool now and I play trombone but I am looking to try to join bluecoats or one of the other DCI when I go to college. I am decent at euphonium, I have played it before, but I don't have one to practice on and I know that is the main instrument for low brass in DCI
Elijah Haveard Definitely try to rent one out or borrow one from somebody. It’s going to be vital that you excel at euphonium or baritone before you go to a camp because that is the instrument that you’ll be auditioning on.
Hi guys, need some understanding here. I'm from Brazil. We just have marching bands down here as part of school activity for those interested. Your Drum Corps are another level, pro indeed. What are the requirements to be part of an audition like that and what are the benefits for the musician ( besides being called a bluecoat ) since you work a lot for the results? Thanks in advance.
I just imagine everyone there thinking: this is it, I've made it. My dreams are coming true if all goes well. All of that hard work for this: and I'll make it. I'll finally have somewhere to be free. Might be overreacting, but I guess that could just be me 😅
I love Creep and I love Radiohead. It would be awesome if my school band played it but we would be so bad. I feel like most of the kids there don’t really care :/ Hopefully it will get better when I go to marching band next year…
I really want to join a drum corp, but I would have to learn another instrument. I’m a bassoonist, had to learn tenor sax to march (currently a junior in hs) and if I want to ever join a Corp, I’ll have to learn another instrument, probably baritone bc that was what I was going to play before I fell in love with Bassoon.
Beautiful performance but... (to the conductor) how about conducting it like it should be conducted, not in a marching style, but in an concert/orchestral style. I so much would like the ending tempo to be much much slower, and stretch, stretch, stretch, beat 4 to bring tension/resolve to the music. Conducting it and playing it with your "steady" pulse, in my opinion robbed all of what could have been a very, moving performance. Just my 2 cents... band director/conductor for 32 years. Aloha!
having grown up in a die hard drum corps household I miss those days dearly...to much has changed in the last 30 years for me to still be a die hard fan. there should not be any electronics, amplification, performers not marching ( i.e The Pit) or goofy stage props etc...go watch 1970's drum corps!

I don't remember by how much I missed my callback, but this performance will be with me forever.

It’s the damned woodwinds
bro i know you from musescore
Have to blend and balance and play with style.
We played it this year it was so hard to make it not sound like Thomas the train running over new york
We played this exact score of Creep in our show this season and this really hit me hard.
What school?
Freedom Highschool?
Olive Branch?
Your momma joke?
@@enchantedgamer9428 you from Mississippi bro?
Educate those kids with the greatest musical segment in dci of the 2010s
Man i have been out of the Marching Scene for years but Goodness!!! Creep from that year was pure gold alongside E= Mc^2 from Crown!
I’d also put “Hymn of Acxiom” up there, along with “Woods”.
All of Downside Up is amazing.
1:05 I did the same thing as my guy in the audience when I first heard this...
that dude is prolly an alumni lol. He's totally vibin with Creep
I'm playing this for my 2020-2021 season and imma cry when I grad
@@Music_MikeZ how did that turn out
that one dude in the audience at the far right bobbing his head at 1:07 is A MOOD LMAO
This is one of my favorite songs, and while it is played by my favorite corps creates and an unbelievable feeling, I could listen to this all day
Melvin Villalobos it was definitely my favorite piece to play!
Jacob Entingh I’m sure it was
our band plays this as a warmup chorale and even our dinky marching band gives me chills every time
The silence at 1:41 into the final light "i don't belong here" was absolutely beautiful ♥
cool to see Prismo's a corps fan.
Idk if it's a bari or euph at 1:19 but someone is licking the wall with how hard they tongue, but it's cool, I love how it sounds. Absolute chills
BatChest the chillz
its so GOOD

Anybody else notice the 1st mello literally breaking her back?
?? i am clearly missing something, what do you mean?
Pappy Drone/Airsoft
Look at the mello closest to the screen. Her back looks messed up-

This is a perfect song to show range and power. I hear the screamer @1:28!!! 🔥🔥🔥
I CAN'T DO THIS NO MORE!!!
Tbh every time I hear DCI play this even years after I was obsessed w DCI in high school it makes me tear up
I had the privilege to go to the camp this year and record "At The Door" truly a magical experience
I have one goal in my life that I want to achieve in a year from now and that is to be apart of the Bluecoats. I will be there next year
Careful what you wish for... If I were you I would wish to be a part of them, not apart of them.
Did you make it?
did you make it??
Did you make it?
did you make it?
This season we had like 5 out of 7 bands in our flight play this or variations of this. Let’s just say it this was stuck in my head for a while
This song is so good my marching band played it for showcase last year *Dutchtown sound* 2018
I had no clue that they made creep for band I need more of this in my life
Oh Yeah Yeah they played it in one of their shows a few years ago
Kalil Olsen oh lol
a little more than a few years ago it was actually in 2011
it’s called brave new world
The fact that you called this a band hurts me

The chord at 1:27 is 👌
the brass i'm in love... !
Omg awww this is soo great dude I am crying
