    Looks pretty good for under £20, an emergency controller if you will. I imagine it's handy for the kiddos with their smaller hands. Agree with you on the matt finish, looks much nicer than shinyshiny.

    I'm interested in picking one of these up. recently bought a RG353V from Ambernic, and like the idea of it being able to be a TV console via the HDMI out. I don't wanna carry a bunch of full size controllers, but it'd be cool to play some casual retro stuff with friends and have one or two of these things on hand.

    I think you can create a controller profile to make the D-Pad do the controls of the analogstick.
    I recently orderd another M30 after they showed off the white Saturn inspired version with the different colored buttons.
    Should arrive any day now. That will my 4th version of this controller lol

    I have the old version 0f this, sadly I had to sell my entire collection in 2013... but the 8bitdo mini allowed me to hang it on my car interior mirror, have my entire collection on my phone and use the Bluetooth on the car stereo- plus all arcade games I wanted....my new gaming room!

    3:02 Not really, i couldn't find this on the manual on the website but the FAQ says this:
    "Why doesn’t the D-pad work when connected to the device?
    To activate the D-pad functions, press and hold either one of the button combos for 5 seconds based on your preference:
    * Minus button + D-pad up = D-pad control
    * Minus button + D-pad left = Left stick control
    * Minus button + D-pad right = Right stick control"
    So you CAN at least use the Left Stick when needed ( dunno when you're gonna need the right stick though ) It's weird that it isn't on the manual (the one on the website doesn't mention anything about this, dunno about the physical one) and i guess DOOM and other 3D games are the exception since you do need both sticks but it is what it is, still, it's weird that 8bitdo sometimes doesn't mention features like this on the manual, ends up hurting the product

      Well that sounds dumb of them, glad to hear that there is some way of using it properly but yeah the FPS games are still guna be a big nope.
      Thanks for the info buddy 🙂

      Does it work with iOS? I know it'll connected as another key shortcut, but can it be used for gaming?

    • @Josuh
      @Josuh ปีที่แล้ว

      @@isswilee2723 Probably not in my opinion, I can't think of any games that detect keyboard keys as gaming controllers on mobile games (besides emulators) but maybe you could try tweaking things around in the Ultimate software idk

    I like to play Scott Pilgrim with my zero 2 on Switch, but the most inconvenient thing about it is that I don't have a home button, I would love to get my hands on this new micro controller, it's like a deluxe zero 2~ :o

  • @delightfulsquirtle

    I want this for android emulation on the go for my phone. And even more like RPGs and stuff.

  • @Autotrope
    @Autotrope 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    It's not true that there are many games you can't play with this.
    Your issue is that by default the dpad emulates an analog stick because that's more common on the switch. But you can switch it to emulating a dpad with just a button combination.
    This IS in the documentation. I feel as if an error this big warrants re-doing this video.

    • @segahead660
      @segahead660  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It "might" be possible to use it on PC with the addition of an 8BitDo Bluetooth dongle so you could use it for gaming rather then just mapping

    • @Josuh

      It has a "keyboard" mode so i'd assume you can

  • @bland9876

    If there is a butt9n combination to swap the dpad for the analog stick that would be useful. Their modkit for snes lets you do that and you can play smash as a result. If you need the right analog stick it also lets you do that.

    • @segahead660
      @segahead660  ปีที่แล้ว

      The controller is capable of "mapping" there doesn't seem to be a swap combo like the one you'd hope for 😞

    Well, they must've sold enough of the Zero to warrant what's basically a re-release. Just from the side by side, you can tell the d-pad is much better on the Micro...but I'm not sure I'd want to play any game on this controller.

    • @bland9876
      @bland9876 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This controller may be the same size as the zero but looks more like there other 2 controller the one with the dpads instead of sticks and the other one that looks almost identical to that. Maybe it's a branding thing. Make everything look more similar.

    There were people who looked at the Zero (let alone the Micro) and asked you, "Can I play the latest Zelda Tears of the Kingdom with it?" Im sorry but where is common sense... Thats like expecting these tiny, cheap controllers to also have gyro, and hd rumble, and can wash your dishes...
