We will start today's adventure at the Benagil Cave, then explore Marinha Beach and finally we will take a boat trip from Portimão to Marinha Beach, all on the Barlavento coast of the Algarve (the western coast of the Algarve that runs from Albufeira to Sagres) which is especially fertile in algares (vertical caves) in this beautiful Portugal.
BENAGIL CAVE
This fascinating natural wonder stands out for the large opening at the top of the cave and the intricate play of light and shadow that creates a magical atmosphere inside.
For me, the Benagil cave is the most beautiful of the immense caves (vertical caves) that exist on this coast.
If you visit the Algarve, you shouldn't miss exploring the Benagil Cave.
The formation of the cave is the result of millions of years of coastal erosion, driven mainly by wave action and hydraulic forces.
The cave is mainly composed of limestone, a sedimentary rock formed from the accumulation of marine organisms.
The cave's unique geological features include its two large entrances, intricate rock formations and enchanting lighting effects.
The Benagil Cave has a cultural and historical significance, inspiring folklore and legends in the local culture.
It has become a popular tourist destination, attracting visitors from all over the world.

MARINHA BEACH
Marinha Beach is an iconic beach, known as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. CNN highlights the incredible cliff and it is Lonely Planet's favorite beach in the Algarve.
Photos of Marinha Beach are often found in advertisements in the Algarve. In real life, the beach is even more beautiful than in the pictures. According to TripAdvisor, Marinha Beach is one of the best beaches in Portugal and one of the best things to see in the Algarve.
The beach is surrounded by steep cliffs, which gives it a magical feel.
Near the beach there are many rock structures and there is a very famous one that looks like the letter “m” and is therefore called the “m” stone.
Marinha is a beach where you can spend all day if you want. The water is usually very calm and because of the surrounding cliffs, there is not much wind. Be sure to bring sunscreen because the sun can be quite strong.
The sea near Marina Beach is calm and the water is clear, almost transparent. This makes it a popular snorkeling destination as it is possible to see many different types of marine species and fish underwater.
BOAT TOUR FROM PORTIMÃO TO MARINHA BEACH
This tour starts in Portimão and runs along the entire coastline to Marinha Beach, allowing you to enjoy the breathtaking views offered by one of the most impressive coastlines in Europe.
On this tour we leave Portimão, pass by the Ponta of Altar Lighthouse, Mato Beach, Lapa Tower, Vale of Lapa Beach, Carvoeiro Beach, Algar Seco, Vale of Centeanes Beach, Carvalho Beach, Benagil Cave, Corredoura Beach, Cão Raivoso Beach and we conclude at Marinha Beach.
Along the way we pass through huge and wonderful caves.
I draw special attention to the fact that close to Carvoeiro Beach is the natural monument Algar Seco. This true wonder of nature consists of a series of rocks and rough caves, carved over hundreds of years by the wind, and natural pools with incredibly blue water. Holes in the rocks give them the appearance of windows and balconies.
