30 years later and still remember his chant after all these years. I wish I could say: "Ancient spirits of getting stuff done, transform this procrastinating form into Crystal, the over achiever!!!!
Not to mix metaphors, but when I read that last bit I imagined it continuing thusly. "In place of a Mumm-Ra you would have a Crys-Tal, not mumm, but bright and terrible as a the dawn! Tempestuous as the sea, and stronger than the foundations of the earth! All shall love her and despair!” 🙂
Doctor Dometone and a few others who dwell in domes underwater is also human. Humanity at this point consists of a few primitive hunter gatherers and some super smart scientists, different remnants of some unnamed holocaust or natural disaster.
Hm! It’s cool how it’s unsaid but it’s earth I think if you read between the lines just so far in the future that animals have evolved into humanoid beings
I used to watch Thundercats when i was young ,though, I had never seen this episode until recently! One of the most EPIC evil transformations ever!!!!!
Fantastic, they hardly ever made Seth, Sebek, Anubis and Baal interact with Mumm-Rá this way. The transformation of Mumm-rá in the last season were based on it, but not so badass like this one...
Mumm-Ra had several transformed states-- this one was called "Mumm-Ra the All-Powerful". He performed it twice in the series: both times his voice and the pattern on his loincloth changed. The 2nd time, he also grew to gigantic height.
Poor Mumm-Ra, he never quite got the better of those blasted Thundercats!! And I wouldn’t even say that Mumm-Zara was an incompetent villain exactly lol
@FlowersInHisHair Easy answer. The series explained this... his transformations gave him supercharged power, but as a price, it drained through his stamina/energy reserves many times faster, forcing him to withdraw to his sarcophagus (which left him in a helpless state) to replenish it. Therefore, the more he transformed, the more times he'd leave himself open to attack while recharging. The only thing that could end that cycle was the Golden Sphere of Seti, but the ASoE took it from him.
They need to remake this show and make it Darker, grittier, and just overall for a more mature audience, there are SOOOO many shows out there that if were remade and made darker but keeping the initial story and characters and such, there is so many shows that would be so god damn epic and badass to watch, one of them in my mind other than this show is shows like Xiaolin Showdown, even in its final two episodes, it got pretty dark for a 'kids' show, awesome villains and all, just need more DARK!
can't really spoil a 25 year old show. you do remember your Thundercats well. I remember loving it and scenes like this and "thundercats-HO" but not much else.
yeah good o days. i am 20 now . it was used to air here during 1995-1996. and i remember quite well how i increase the speed of my homework and get it done before thunder cats and sometimes i pretended to do that and later paying the price lol.
@scarabmango "the Spirits are Mumm-Ra's masters; he works for them, not the other way around. They can flat-out refuse him the power if he's been disappointing them" Actually, we find out in the last episode that that's not exactly true. They actually have a symbiotic relationship, and Mumm-Ra figures it out: the Ancient Spirits of Evil are helpless to enact any of their power on the physical plane without an avatar, so Mumm-Ra can (and did) refuse THEM, finally, as well!
@@ValiantWrestling: This is a new record. A reply to something I said 13 years ago. I barely even remember 3 years ago. Anyway, there is no need to diss Toriyama, okay?
@Mounce2 It's being worked on by Studio 4°C, who also did the Animatrix Matrix anime, that is if you don't mind anime. Slated for a 2011 release on Cartoon Network. Bonus if your a Lion-O fan, they got his original V.A Larry Kenney to voice Lion-O's father Claudius.
Mumm-ra was prolly the only thing I feared as a child and I'd even seen the Terminator and Alien and to this day I use his name for things (I have a Tomb Kings army in Warhammer and the general is called Mumm-ra)
@FlowersInHisHair Well, Mumm-Ra does have a huge pile of diamonds and other treasure in his pyramid. I'd be spending most of my free time rolling around in there.
@FlowersInHisHair well, yeah. its just not every episode he decides to become the biggest 100 foot tall pissed off smurf i've ever seen. just this one time. maybe it was at band camp, i dunno. you're right though in essence, ironically mumm-ra existed in a sort of harmony with that earth for millenia before the t-cats showed up, they were most definitely invading aliens if you think about it. guy just had a really vile way of going about protecting his home.
@DelBluenose80 Right, because except for tons of processed uranium, banned rockets, elements of chemical weapons, there were none. Maybe he could use it to start some shovel ready projects since a trillion dollars didn't do the trick.
@FlowersInHisHair wrong. pay attention. this is the SUPER mumm-ra transformation, not the regular one. its in the darn title, sheesh how can someone miss something like that?
@TheJomogogo WOW that is soooo hilarious. My cousin would so have done that at our thanksgiving dinner. im cracking up imagining you in the center of the circle doing that while adults towered over and you saying ancient spirits of evil.... lmao.
Mumm-Ra would have been a completely forgettable and mundane villain if not for the *outstanding* work of his voice actor. To this day, I get a kick out of hearing those rolling rs, the grandiose language, and that truly epic laugh.
@MajestyQuickness Thank you. I hate the new voice. The original guy who did the 80's version is probably dead by now but they could have tried just a little harder to find another voice actor who could capture the true sinister heart of evil inside Mumm-Ra.
It's hard to make out, due to the sound effects and music, but it sounded to me like, "Grant me the super-strength of all your wise and wicked wizardry!" This would make sense when you consider that the Ancient Spirits of Evil are combining all of their powers and concentrating them in Mumm-Ra for his one FINAL attempt to destroy the Thundercats.
@Mounce2 In other words, they should make it for the true audiences of Thundercats. The adults who used to watch this as a kid are now in their mid 30's and up. I agree. That is why I dont like many Marvel movies because its too kiddie. Iron Man was fun but Dark Knight and B Begins was the best comic book movies.
Hell, I bet Skeletor could kick Mumm-Ra's ass too. I mean when it comes to sheer force, sure Mumm-Ra has the edge. But Skeletor is a lot smarter and distinct skill in actual magic.
30 years later and still remember his chant after all these years. I wish I could say: "Ancient spirits of getting stuff done, transform this procrastinating form into Crystal, the over achiever!!!!
+Crystal Hinson I actually read that in his voice too. lmao
Me too. Can't forget them.
All shall love her and despair!”
🙂
Hahaha awesome phrase, I'll use it, thanks! You are so pure, God bless you
9 years later and i find this hilarious!!
"Grant me the super strength of all your wise and wicked wizardry!" was such a great line delivery.
That laugh afterwards was over the top!
The transformation to the end result before the battle for this ep was totally EPIC!
Mumm-Ra The Best Villain of the 80s This Episode is A Classic The Last Day 110 Shit Just Got Real!!!!!!!
Technically Mumm-Ra was the only human being in the cast 🧐
I think his like half dog or somenthing lol
Not true, because Willa, Naida and the Warrior Maidens are human.
When you ain't messing about
Mumm-ra must've really been pissed to make that transformation lol
Fantastic, they hardly ever made Seth, Sebek, Anubis and Baal interact with Mumm-Rá this way. The transformation of Mumm-rá in the last season were based on it, but not so badass like this one...

Ancient Spirits of Evil: And we are going to pump *clap* You Up!
definitely. the new series is cool but Mumm-ra is Earl Hammond and no one else can touch that.
Mumm-ra by far was the hardest villian from back in the day! Think about it guys, this was back in the 80's! Thundercats were truly ahead of its time!
Ever notice when Mumm-Ra screams it sounds like he's trying to shit after eating a bunch of Habaneros?
Talk about a burning ring of fire.
@FlowersInHisHair

looks like mumm-ra has been hanging out at jose canseco parties.
I always terrified by Mumm-ra as a child.. is anyone lived by these era ever get nightmares by him?
I always was scared when those statues came to life when I was little. They still creep me out today.
They grant him all their evil powers but they make it clear there's no coming back in defeat, they destroy his sarcophagus and his black pyramid...
Mumm-Ra's big mistake was priorities. He should have immediately gone to Cats' Lair to kill Snarf.
Mumm- ra was on some big time droids that day
This cartoon is the nuts! Timeless, I must get the series and watch it again now 28 and beats any crap thats on these days!
No matter how badly Mumm-raa got his ass handed to him, he was always laughing his head off. I wish I was that happy all the time...0.o
can't really spoil a 25 year old show. you do remember your Thundercats well. I remember loving it and scenes like this and "thundercats-HO" but not much else.
That’s was dope as hell when watched that as a kid
Mumm-Ra has always been one of my favorites. When I saw this for the first time my head exploded ala Scanners.
So that's how come Dick Cheney is still alive...never would have guessed.
I think at the end there the Moon Star of Limbo threw some extra punch in.
yeah good o days. i am 20 now . it was used to air here during 1995-1996. and i remember quite well how i increase the speed of my homework and get it done before thunder cats and sometimes i pretended to do that and later paying the price lol.

Wives can eb brutal man...how do you think they became Ancient Spirits of Evil!
that voice of mum-Ra still gives me chills a bit even though it is nearly a quarter century latter.
Holy shit! Super Mumm-Ra brought the house down and sunk it into the sand.
One of my favorite villians EVER !!!!!!
Some things you never forget. Mumm-Ra's incantation is one of them!
this is totally wicked.
forgot about this form this was so cool
so thats how cheney and al davis keep living
That happens when the Kundalini awakens
"and then leave us be...!"
simply fucking EPIC! we need a movie with Mummra!
It wouldn't be the same without Earl Hammond as the voice of Mumm-Ra who died 20 years ago the age of 80.
Ha you broke your house, where are you going to live now!
Pixiedust8399 New Thunderra.
Where else?
There goes another one, creating his house again.
and also, It's been like a year since they've been on mexican TV; Anyway we've still got the dvd's, don't we?
His power level is over 9000. Definitely.
Don't be comparing Mumm-Ra to shite in that garbage Dragonball Z repetitive crap.
@@ValiantWrestling: This is a new record. A reply to something I said 13 years ago. I barely even remember 3 years ago. Anyway, there is no need to diss Toriyama, okay?
Gotta love Mumm-ra, always cackling his head off....
i got the hole series on dvd love it
It'll be tough to get Mumm-Ra's VA since he died a long time ago.
I'm sure Mubarak is memorizing those words right now...
God damn Mummra is hard as shit. My dream is to see him, Cobra Commander, Megatron, and Skelator get into a fight.
@Mounce2

hell yea thats what im talkin about. get so crunk with evil power ya tear your own house down!
Holy $hit Lion-O. I don't know man.
@DelBluenose80 No, they admit they didn't find stockpiles. All of the things listed were specifically banned by the treaty Hussein signed.
I feel like this when I'm stuck in traffic
This is when Mum-Ra said to hell with it and went for broke.. One of the best episodes if you asked me.
Mumm-Ra been drinkin' that Muscle Milk. Gettin Swooooolll son!
...so, all I'm thinking Mr.Ever Living is
this? Who's going to take Ma-Mutt's out for
his nightly walk around the pryamid?!?!
hahah I love how they take the original transform theme and remix and break it down. I actually stood up and started pop lockin.
Every great show has an excellent villain. Star Wars had Darth Vader and Thundercats had Mumm-ra. Mumm-ra + The Sword of Omens + awesome intro = WIN!
He man had Skeletor
as a kid. mumra's transformation used to scare the hell out of me.
It never scared me until I had a nightmare where I was IN the black pyramid and he transformed like ten feet away from me. I woke up screaming.
I love how everything starts exploding when he transforms.
Mumm-ra was prolly the only thing I feared as a child and I'd even seen the Terminator and Alien and to this day I use his name for things (I have a Tomb Kings army in Warhammer and the general is called Mumm-ra)
NOW THAT WHAT I CALL A JACK UP SUPER Mumm-Ra
@FlowersInHisHair
Well, Mumm-Ra does have a huge pile of diamonds and other treasure in his pyramid. I'd be spending most of my free time rolling around in there.
Mumm-roidz the ever Swole! 💪💉💊
😂😂😂

Mumm-Ra is one mean bad guy and he owns!
Oh man! He'll totally need to redecorate.
I bet that wind that came into the pyramid when he transformed smelled horrible. lol
damn mumra I hope you got home owners insurance
That was amazing !!!! wow ! what a rush !!
@DelBluenose80 Right, because except for tons of processed uranium, banned rockets, elements of chemical weapons, there were none. Maybe he could use it to start some shovel ready projects since a trillion dollars didn't do the trick.
Woo! that's power there... But not the good kind.
@FlowersInHisHair wrong. pay attention. this is the SUPER mumm-ra transformation, not the regular one. its in the darn title, sheesh how can someone miss something like that?
i think it's jsut a random egyptian symbol that looks cool. he is a mummy after all.
i dont know but my fav episode was when he mumm-ra got excalibur,he was Sooooo close to win, sooo close
Already amazing, if the ASoE had given him also a gold/crimson/onyx armor, it'd have been even better. Thanks for the video.
I had no idea Linda Tripp was so powerful!
@TheJomogogo WOW that is soooo hilarious. My cousin would so have done that at our thanksgiving dinner. im cracking up imagining you in the center of the circle doing that while adults towered over and you
saying ancient spirits of evil.... lmao.
Bad day for the Thundercats

Tom Nichol You are exactly right.
thumbs up if ur watching this after watching the 2011 mumm-ra transformation

Does anyone have a clip of Mumra saying "Yeeessssssssss.........."?? Forget M. Bison, THATS the way to say Yes!
"Thou art the rayed one" Xeper-I-Set"
Jesus...yeah...lets see your lil sword do that liono...lets see it top that huh!
Monstar from Silverhawks has the same laugh, because he's voiced by the same guy. THE MORE YOU KNOW! *
see...now if he ate a couple burritos then tried that...would he call himself mumra the ever living - or mumra the ever shitting...lmao lmao
@MajestyQuickness Right on! The old Mumm-Ra was more "evil" and sinister sounding.
Hell, I bet Skeletor could kick Mumm-Ra's ass too.
I mean when it comes to sheer force, sure Mumm-Ra has the edge. But Skeletor is a lot smarter and distinct skill in actual magic.
mumm ra had the best name too the only guy who comes close is skeletor but thats a little obvious so mumm ra wins
I wonder what Mumm-Ras electricity bill is like after he's transformed.
where evils exist!
Munn-Ra exist!
nice
mum-ra was pretty bad ass.... him and monstar both
I don't understand why he lost having such a wonderful powers ...
He still failed even that strong!
