Thats actually a cool idea, I never thought of it like that 🤔 I've watched it over again a few times, and whilst it's a cool idea for sure, I don't actually think that's what's happening. It very much, in my opinion, looks like Excalibur is genuinely blasted back the Eye of Thundera, and in the moment feels how powerful it is, and then once the Sword follows up with another energy blast which has Excalibur has to dodge, Excalibur realises how strong the Sword of Omens is and needs to end the fight, so uses that last dodge to circle around and line up the shot it needs - which is to stab it in the only exposed power source it has, which is the Eye. And it takes that short, stabs it, and wins. That's just my opinion though, and it feels more dramatic that way. Such an awesome episode though, season 1 of Thundercats had the best episodes by far in my opinion

I recall seeing this and figured that the swords would merge as one at the end - combining the power. Since, the Lake was so close, that means that the Thundercats most likely live in or near, what was once Britain.
Weirdly, if that's true then it's surprising that an ancient Egyptian pyramid is right there. I'm not a geography nerd but I thought Egypt was pretty far from the UK.

I’m sure there’s a part of the Arthurian Legend which says that Excalibur cannon be used for evil, much the same as “The Mystic Sword of Omens?” In fact that is when Arthur breaks Excalibur , when he uses it to fight Lancelot?
My theory is that Excalibur was deceived. Because Mumm-Ra shape-shifted into King Arthur. In fact, right after Mumm-Ra returned to his original appearance, and Excalibur turned against him.

The time Excalibur does get pushed back by the SoO is at the end of the battle and they are in the air, when it does the same energy blast from the Eye again - you see Excalibur get stopped in its tracks, then it gets thrown back through the air a considerable distance.
Wasn't making any comment about the moral of the episode, which was fairly clear even as a child that it's about liono being too impulsive and quick to anger, they literally state what the moral is at the end of the episode.
After he said this the sword no longer worked with him and then Merlin restored the sword of omens.
Wow, not sure to feel sad or nostalgic that I watched that episode first run.
I recall seeing this and figured that the swords would merge as one at the end - combining the power.
Two things I want to point out. 1 Since it was returned to the Lady of the Lake, I guess that means the real King Arthur has yet to return ( He won't live long upon arising again, one look at what is world has become, he'll die of heart failure immediately🏰🏚️😵💔⚰️). 2. Since, the Lake was so close, that means that the Thundercats most likely live in or near, what was once Britain.
in short , Lion-O drinks milk in a cup of tea , got it.
@@phantasosxgames8488 lol😆
Weirdly, if that's true then it's surprising that an ancient Egyptian pyramid is right there. I'm not a geography nerd but I thought Egypt was pretty far from the UK.
i know this is old comment but im going to reply any ways short answer NO, after he was mummified mumra was banished from our earth to 2nd earth and 3rd earth is 2nd earths future. as for talking to the lady of the lake in some myths its said you can speak with the lady from any lake or it was a simple over site on the writing staffs part and they didnt know.
Magical swords dogfighting, har har
The alien 👽 sword couldn’t beat the earth sword ⚔️ and it’s divine powers 😶
England vs Thundercat

Was that England or MumRa(Egyptian)?
Mum Ra is the even better Darth Vader!!!!!!!
What would you say about Darkseid?
@@michaelpowell5266 WOW! Now that would be A HELL OF FIGHT! I honestly don't know. Maybe even a tie or draw. Wow, that's a good one!
@@michaelpowell5266 Thinking about it, I would say Mum Ra if I had to choose. He has all the power of the spirits of evil. In the end it's Mum Ra.
0:41 - 0:43 “You insulted my honor....I demand satisfaction!!”
39:00 mummra disrespecting he-man. Lol . The look on he-mans face thou ---- priceless.
In fact, right after Mumm-Ra returned to his original appearance, and Excalibur turned against him.
i am here to command YOU to fight for ME!! !!
Do you have the following seen when Merlin slapped Mumm-Ra and repaired the sword of omens??
Sorry, I don't. Wish I did . Love that part.
@@hernandez5472 ok. Thanks
The day when a good fight needed no reason to happen
the voice actor of the knight was putting on to sound like claude rains/the invisible man sounds like
Thundercats rule!! Glad to grown up in that era. Snarf Snarf 🤘🏻

Denounce satan and his trademark horns and willingly accept God=Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior and personally confess your wrongdoings to Him and repent while there is time. 0:52 tho so awesome.. frame that and put that on your wall
Love it. SoO has a definitive adversary. I bet just saying the name Excalibur will send it flaying
Excalibur uses an extremely similar design to He-Man's sword from the live action movie.
(Lion-O)“HOOOO!”(1:00)
Are there any other cartoons like thundercats from this era
I mean, cartoons that were also partly japanese projects
I know that this, Silverhawks, and Ulysses 31 were both cartoons that have japanese influence
yes , there is , Thundercats 2011.
But CN were idiots and cut it out for the sake of a LEGO cartoon
Silverhawks, by the same studio
The story and the characters design, was made by Americans. But the drawing to make the cartoon was made in Japan
But if you remember at the end Merlín gave excalibur to lion-o that now belongs to him but he refuse and instead told Merlín to give it back to tha lady of the lake
Lion-O explained to Merlin, after restoring both the Eye of Thundera and the Thundercats' superpowers that they have a sword(The Sword of Omens) that fights for justice, truth, honor and loyalty- the Code of Thundera. Case and point, Excalibur belongs in another time and to King Arthur. Weapons of justice cannot be used against each other!!!
@@michaelpowell5266 He also refused it because he felt he hadnt earned it because he foolishly accepted mumm ras duel. He let his emotions get the better of him and he said until he learns to control his emotions he wont feel worthy of its power
I can't believe that he didn't know that mumm-ra
Mummra went off on this episode
This is so awesome!! It has a sword fight...BETWEEN SWORDS!!!
How could he not know it was Mumra under the helmet. Not bright these cats.
Looked like this scene is a two part episode. Heck of a sword fight, but evil prevailed unfortunately.
Don't like it don't wAcht
Not really. Once Mumm ra revealed himself merlin intervened and stopped him
@@rigobertosotelo4970 Who asked you, twerk?
@lordteapot obviously you never saw the whole series if you think so.
where is wilycat and wilykit
Rakin Bass has done it again
Liono got slapped in the face with a glove - TWICE.
I'd never trust an Arthur who had the voice of Mumm-Ra lol! This reminded me of that *Dungeons & Dragons* episode when Venger disguised himself as an heroic Knight; sure he was saying to about the children, "You owe them no mercy!" but he was saying it with the voice of *Optimus Prime!* That's got to be at least a -3 penalty on the saving throw to resist his charm!
I died when he said 'you dare a knight ' and also why don't the swords just hit the opponent instead of hitting each other
because the excalibur was aiming at the thundera's eye in the sword of omens.
now we needs he man
They DO NOT make cartoons like this anymore.
(La escalera thunthercats). Sorry for the soldier scalibu he so mad i was with him but i saw how Is His lough 😞.
That was a Japanese 70's anime moment at 0.53 min.
The two swords took it very personally.
Episode 51.
Thank me later.
No sir, I thank you now!!
