For those struggling you need someone standing near the chest so the map icon vanishes. That's the core part creators don't mention for some reason
Most creators don’t know or notice that fact. However, this is the reason why I have listed it as detailed as possible, even up to the point of how to refresh and reopen maps, which almost all other creators fail to teach. The map icon can also disappear whenever you open another map, so it’s not a good indicator. Following the detailed steps would be key.
does the person standing near the chest get to open it too? like if my friend has the map but i don’t and i stand by the chest for him, can i open the chest too when he’s done?
No, it doesn’t work for them like that. They have to do the same things you did, though I would recommend doing it separately, as many things can just go wrong and you could end up not getting it successfully.

You need the map. If you don’t open the map, then it doesn’t work for you, and vice versa. The person who wants to do the glitch does need the map. Whatever you just narrated, is the same situation, with you switching places with your friend. 😂
I just want to say for everyone that's wondering, it still works as of today. Just follow the steps. Using horse is advised, i got like 98 gold bars in 15 minutes of going around the rocks with my horse. Thanks for the instruction!

you will not get the map until you rank 100.!!!
to do this glitch you need someone to stand at the chest that the treasure is in while you do the circles,
This person is known as an anchor.!
have them open their catalogue near the chest n stay put.!!
The only 2 chests that work are the one by the boat or by the broken wagon,
once the treasure has spawned place the Dynomite on the chest and shoot it.!
therefore, blowing it up then go run around the rock for 10 15 mins be sure to run in and out of the spawn point.!!
watch your mini map once the treasure map disappears you walked out of the spawn.
((the more times you go in and out of the spawn point the more treasures you will have.))
come back open a new treasure map and then loot the treasure.
simple and easy once you do it. explaining how to is the most complicated.

tip for everyone do it with the horse. and stop after 10-12 minutes then you should have the maximum $10000 full (sorry if there are mistakes in the text come from Germany)

I would do this if you want to change characters like for example change genders, that would reset everything except for when you have not spent

You can repeat this as often as you like. If you do it right, your map will not disappear
My posse all wants to do this for outfits 😂 but 2 questions: Can multiple people do it at the same time? As in 1 afk near the chest then 2+ others running around the rock?
Second question, your afk friend can't loot if you have the map and do the running can they?
I wouldn’t suggest doing multiple people at the same time. The tends to weird out that way, and some will find empty chests.
The afk friend won’t have access to all that loot, as what is important is the utilization of the map itself, plus all that running/switching maps states.

Imagine I got the Lake Isabella map. I KNEW there was an infinite money glitch, and I STILL decide to just waste it. Silly me.

Once i finished all the steps i went to go loot the chest and it let me open it but there wasn’t any option to loot it
Sometimes it happens that way to certain people. Just have to change to a private session (preferably) to ensure that the glitch works perfectly.
I tried it yesterday different method it worked but when i did it the second time it gave me around 4 gold bars so is it inconsistent or was it just my luck or is it just one time thing pls respond

Good question but what about if you run for longer too?
Well there really hasn’t been any way to test much, so no official figures, but running around for less than 15mins can still yield some return, though I can’t guarantee how much.
This has been tested, but only up to 20mins. No increase noted though.

Map icon won’t matter, but the steps do. As long as the steps are correct and the session is not glitched by modders (hence using private lobbies) it will work fine.
Plus you need a friend next to chest so no solo sessions. If you have a friend the icon will vanish as you run away while friend is standing next to chest

Try it out. There isn’t a fixed number, though lesser mins generally = lesser spawns.
I just don't want the map to be used and the glitch to not work or something
If you do this correctly, the map will still be in your inventory.
If you only have the lake map, and no others how best would you reset the chest location?

Why do we have to run around the rock a thousand times? That’s where it started to seem fake to me lol
Well it works, but what I think is, after doing all that, we run around the rock, and the running to and fro is triggering a map/zone change, hence it increases the amount of cheats to be opened later. You can take a look at the full vid on TH-cam before making another opinion I hope. I’ll probably do a livestream sometime this weekend to show it working. 😁

What if your eaten by the wolves, or get shot by another player while doing this glitch, does it reset or lose the map? I think i might try this in a solo lobby to make sure I dont get at least shot.

Can you repeat this with the same map twice? How many times can I do this in a row with the same mapd
You won’t lose any maps doing this. If you want to do this again, it’s best to reload into a new session to make sure nothing weird happens.

When i join a new session there’s still a search area on my map. Do you know how to bypass this without losing the treasure map?
You can just ignore it. It’ll disappear when you get into a mission/event.
Where do i get the map? Is it from the collector role?
once you rank level 100 there will be one in your parcel at the post office from the collector role
I did it with my friend and it worked but after he got 50 gold bars it just stopped
Then just do it again. It’s not a fixed amount that you get everytime.

Only lake Isabella map as far as I know. However maps can drop repeatedly, so they aren’t unique.
works in bards crossing as well, just have to go on your horse and go around a tree

Just do it again. Sometimes it’s a glitched session. Either that, or don’t run circles that are too tight.

Some people encounter this as well, even me on occasion, but most times you’ll get a lot more. The glitch works on the principle of map loading, so I suggest that when you are running circles round that rock, don’t run in small circles, but more like how I’m running in the vid, so that the map loading comes into play.

Same is happening to me and my friend too. I don't understand what we are doing wrong. We also are in a solo lobby together so no cheaters messing around with it. We tried blowing ourselves up with the chest, basically everything. Map just isn't disappearing and the chest is always empty.

It works indefinitely. When you find no reward, just start a new session and do it again.

Your friend does not need the map. He is just there to prevent the chest from despawning.

Try doing this in a private session. I’ve had encounters where glitched sessions interfered with this.
