I'm glad to see this channel focused on Co-op games hit the 5 year mark. Ive been watching since my last year in high-school and I think its a crime that I've only just now subscribed. Better late than never I suppose. Congratulations guys
Thanks for the support all these years- as long as you enjoyed the content, that’s all that matters to us!
Ghost Recon Wildlands will always be my #1 coop game. Starting that game up means at least 2 or 3 months of tactical fun with my buddy
True, so much fun with a friend
Great list! Happy five years! You guys have been a great resource for our own "coop club" of friends.
Heck yeah! Happy to hear you’ve found the content helpful!
I wish local couch co-op was in more games.
Try Outward, true split-screen local co-op.
@@shakzor I have. Great game 👍
@@TylerLouden My man.
Nice vídeo , keep The good work!
I don't agree that Monster Hunter World deserves to be on the list.
It's a truly amazing game, but it's horrible for coop with its inconsistent rules.
That’s fair! Like we said in a different comment, we think the highs of the game are worth putting up with some of the not so friendly co-op systems. We definitely have a bit of nostalgia for this one but do think it’s a great co-op game when it’s working.
tbf it's only a hassle during story missions still is one of the best coop games
@@skdeathxlife It's "only" a hassle during story missions.
If only there weren't so many of those story missions to plough through then.
Don't get me wrong, I love the story missions, but they're horrible for coop.
So the game really is terrible for coop, if you're looking for something to play through all of it with a friend.
Thanks for these vids, best co op game channel on youtube😎
Incredible list. Glad to have you all here to give us great content and recommendations!
Nice list, thx.
Keep up the great work, fellas!
Awesome!
This channel is severely underrated.
I hope you guys do the same for Local Multiplayer games or Couch co-op games.
Me and my brother recently played the old Lord of The Rings: Return of The King on local co-op mode. It’s amazingly good. Wish it was remastered.
That’s awesome, that’s a true classic!!
Nice Video, didn't know all of those!
I may not agree with everything on the list but you guys are being true to yourselves and are pushing the co-op movement. Need more games and content like this. Some interesting suggestions that my friends and i may try
Thanks for saying that! Yeah it’s definitely a very “us” list. Maybe in the future may try to do a purely critical list
Nice video 🎉🎉
I came here seeking a hidden gem to play with my bud, sadly we apparently are top of all things co-op. Great vid my dudes!
Thanks for watching! Yeah this list definitely tends towards the more popular titles with maybe a couple niche titles like Endless Dungeon or Tribes Of Midgard. If you’re looking for some hidden gems we did a pair of videos last year on indie co-op games: “15 Indie Co-Op Games You Might’ve Missed” and “15 Indie Co-Op Games To Put On Your Radar” We’d also recommend taking a look at our “Every Major Co-Op Game Coming in 2024” video where we talk about 30 games (maybe) coming out this year.
Well if you enjoy Action JRPGs, I recommend the Tales Series.
Most games have co op. If you want to play Arise in Co-op, there's an easy to install mod for pc that runs seamlessly on the game. It's as simple as turning on a 2nd controller when you play, and if you're alone, it's plays as if the mod isn't installed. I highly recommend it.
Tower fall is highly recommended. Addictive, simple and most importantly fun
Hidden gem with LOCAL co-op: Outward.
For hidden gem I would suggest bokura, it’s a mind blowing co op game with some of the best mechanics I’ve seen, totally worth it too as it’s like $2 right now on steam
Me and my buddies might add Spelunky 2, Borderlands (2 specifically) and Valheim amongst others. Too many good choices
Borderlands 2 is a classic! We didn’t actually play that one together otherwise it might’ve made the list. We haven’t played Valheim yet, painfully waiting for the 1.0 release..
@@TheCoOpBros unfortunate, but also valid. I was shocked Valheim wasn't in this list. But I am fully expecting it to be when you guys do play it. We are also awaiting 1.0 release but we did play the early access pre-Mistland update and we have been dying for the full release.
Yeah it’s tough to decide when to jump into an early access game these days. Some like Superfuse are so incomplete. While others like V-Rising were solid experiences maybe just lacking a bit of content. With Valheim being as good as it is, I think we’ve wanted to be patient and experience it in its full glory. Hopefully we don’t have to wait too much longer..
@@TheCoOpBros they just released the second main content update and I think there's one more biome left to do so I am assuming 2025 full release.
@@TheCoOpBros No need to wait, it's amazing in its current form.
deep rock only being 15 is criminal
*#10 Tribes of Midgard* - downright low quality. Above Deep Rock Galactic?
*#4 Dark Souls* - obtuse co-op system, network issues, and playing as 2 means doing every thing twice
*#3 Monster Hunter World* - can't play the campaign together without doing a lengthy annoying workaround every single mission, good co-op later tho
not a great list :L
It's a crime Left 4 dead isn't here
Solid fucking list
Thanks for the support!!
Can we get a list like this for local co-op games only?
That list would absolutely include Outward, a notable omission from this video.
My personal "why were these not on the list?" list: Outward, 7 Days to Die, Valheim.
Army of Two is one of my favorites. Back to back is both one of the dumbest and most awesome things ever.
No Way Out is also an amazing co-op experience for those that liked It Takes Two
Grounded should be in the list too, it's one of the best coop games out there, definitely better coop than Sons of the Forest
grounded was okay, there are better survival-craft likes out there for co-op like
@@RoketGamers +1
Guessing from your description of Ship of Fool's difficulty that you played before the update that actually finished off the game by allowing you to do increasingly harder runs with different ships to unlock loads of new stuff. It's still a great game for casuals to play wih the goal of just beating a run, but now there's also plenty of meat to get stuck into for people seeking more of a challenge.
The authors seem to consider "of all time" as being "the length they've been running their channel."
Good list! But im personally missing Acros the Obelisk!
It's probably not a new suggestion, but I think you might want to check out Darksiders Genesis. The game is entirely built with a full on couch coop in mind, it's a great Darksiders game and has been criminally overlooked.
Good list, some I have not heard of but I feel there are two major gems you left out. State of decay 3 is hands down the most realistic and terrifying co op experience. And course borderlands, especially with tiny tina
Where is Vermintide and left for dead ????
Nah for real to both of these
Another game that you should look into is gloomhaven, a really hard game but fun co op experience
Could you do this for local co-op as well?
Outward would definitely be on the list if it is local co-op specific.
Some great picks there! And Lynch's Dune is a lot more entertaining than Denis Villeneuve's artsy snooze fest! ;)
Have to go with the We Were Here (any in series) as #1 of all time for co-op, by far and it's not even close. Gears of War series (anything from 2 on) should definitely be on the list as it pioneered excellent co-op campaigns but also the incredible horde mode which is the GOAT co-op mode, often duplicated but never bettered.
Very good video bro, then try making one for three or four players
Thanks boysz
I has been a wild ride! I know it is hard to keep up with the new games but also definetly take a look at some gems you guys may have missed
Across the Obelisk? (Like slay the spire but coop)
Wizard of legends? (hades but coop)
Gunfire Reborn?
Binding of Isaac?
Also surpised L4D2 or Portal 2 is not on the list
Gunfire Reborn and Binding Of Isaac are great! Didn’t make it high enough on our lists but do love those titles. We’ll look into Accross The Obelisk though!
Endless dungeons gets a lot of hate on Xbox, lots of claims it’s unplayable. If you’ve played endless dungeons, what system and how did you like it?
Enshrouded or V-Rising? Which should I play with friends?
I’d go V Rising, more content and in 1.0. Enshrouded is good but might as well wait for 1.0 and enjoy everything V Rising has to offer. It’s in of our personal all time favorites we’ve played for the channel!
Little Big Planet has to be my favourite Co-op game of all time sad didn't make the list
Tower fall is awesome in co-op
surprised that neither RE5 or any Gears are in the list, to me those games are the perfect kind of coop, still a solid list tho with some hidden names
I would argue borderlands or Orcs Must Die 2 belongs on this list
Also the new patch for diablo 4 I have to say has made it amazing
I wanted to like Baldurs Gate 3 badly. My friend and I paid full price and went in with a determined attitude but after 3 hours we both thought it was a snoozefest. Do I need to dig in further or even though it's obviously a gem based on others reviews just chalk it up to not my thing?
Hard to say. Its definitely not for everyone. You kind of have to get into it for the long haul and deep into the story and characters, if you want more action or arcade-y gameplay might not be for you. Im luke warm about it.
I’m sure Diablo might be more your style
i wonder which games that based on ww2 have an online co-op mode
Baldurs gate is also my number one!
Nice
My list would include Cuphead, a true masterpiece
Definitely a masterpiece but man is that game harder with a friend sometimes haha
No terraria or minecraft?
Terraria would be on my top 10 for sure!
Surprised tribes, endless and forest made it into top 15 at all lol
NO VALHEIM???
Hear, hear.
No division or division 2? Crazy!!!!
Magika and that lost xbox classic, castle crashers.
Games sorted now need a friend
Elden ring with seamless coop 🤤
I think you guys have recency bias because a lot of amazing coop games are missing from that list and they're older games.
I think that’s fair! Divinity Original Sin II is definitely one of the older titles but we do tend towards newer games. We were ranking 60+ games for the stream so unless an older game had a lot of impact it was hard not to favor more recent experiences
@TheCoOpBros understandable :) keep up the good content!
I’m really glad you left pizza possum off this list.
Nioh 2 should be on this list.
Unfortunately in our opinion it just felt like cheesing the enemies in coop, much more so than even dark souls games
I’m making the assumption that y’all never went back through Elden Ring with the Seemless coop mod. Then again first experience typically isn’t as good as the second.
This list is literally all modern games....
Yeah, and zero fighting games or RTS to be found. Recency bias is a thing.
@@shakzor Absolutely. Honestly, I've been using the coop mod for Armored core 6, and its honestly baffling why this isn't a feature in the game...
Obviously this list is subjective, but in my opinion DRG is way too low on thet list. First point - unlike a few of the other games showcased there, DRG was specifically designed as a multiplayer experience, and the cooperation is implemented directly into the design, while in most singleplayer games with multiplayer it's just two characters instead of one doing the thing you normally do.
Second point - system requirements. Me and my uni friends are able to enjoy the cave-dwelling dream-job simulator all together, because the game is very well optimised and can run even on low hardware. It is extremely accessible because of that alone, and 100 hours in, the actual gameplay still feels like we're only just starting to get the hang of it. Plus the weapon variety is drawn out, so we're still getting new content to enjoy and experiment around.
Rock and stone miners!
do not shit on Lynch's Dune
where is wwz?
Or l4d2, guess they should keep up with the missed gems rather than trying to get the new games that are probably not worth it
WWZ was high on our overall list but didn’t make the Top 15. There’s definitely some Xbox titles like L4D2, Halo and Gears that we just haven’t played cause we weren’t Xbox gamers.
It should be said, we’re just two guys trying to make a TH-cam channel around co-op games. We think we’ve done a pretty good job of covering the best co-op games from maybe the last 8 years or so. We’re trying to go back and play older titles when we can though 👍
All time? No classics in here.
And zero fighters or RTS.
Where left 4 dead ? Its a classic
fr
Probably released before any of these guys were born.
I don't trust your list. Monster Hunter World plays horribly in co-op because of cutsenes, so Rise should be in it's place. And Endless Dungeon has really low user reviews, so I don't see how it could have gotten into top 15. Risk of rain 2 has pretty much no co-op mechanics. I played a lot of it and just can't remember anything we actually cooperated on with friends. The best you can do is put down turrets that have healing as Engi. Nobody Saves the Worlds has terrible ability switching.
Some of those are fair points, lists like these are going to be very subjective. To us Monster Hunter World has enough highs to make up for some of those issues like the cutscenes and such. Taking on a super hard monster like Nergigante and that feeling of beating it together by the skin of your chin is something that's stuck with us! Similarly, a game like Risk Of Rain 2 may not have super deep co-op mechanics but is simply really fun to play together and is also another game that fosters that feeling of camaraderie when you're in the toughest difficulty and doing everything you can to get through it together. When it comes to Endless Dungeon, I don't think it's fair to judge it only on it's user scores. The game received an 8 from IGN and PC Gamer while smaller outlets like God Is A Geek and Attack Of The Fanboy gave it 9s. Hard disagree on Nobody Saves The World, we think they nailed the ability mechanics lol
@@TheCoOpBros I see your point. Thanks for reply
PORTAL 2??????????????????
Endless dungeon? Are you sponsored by them? I've literally NEVER, in like 40 hours, seen another live person.
Yeah, well they are friends that play together. Maybe it's a hidden gem they're trying to shine a light on.
The game wasn’t well received on PC for a couple reasons I won’t get into here but like DewMan said, we were playing in a party of three not using matchmaking.
Am I the only one that absolutely didn’t like It Takes Two? I don’t understand why this is the top on most lists..
The gameplay and level design is extremely varied. Its very accessible. Makes it possible to enjoy with those who dont game as often. Solid graphics and goofy cut scenes that are easy to chuckle about. Tbh i think portal 2 co op is better... but this was fun too
elden ring is nº0 but the video was getting too long
Honestly one of the worst "top" lists I've ever seen. Have you guys only been gaming for 5 years or why are all of these so recent? Well except DS which barely even has co-op. Have you not played any Halo game? Rock Band? Half the games on this list aren't even good
Kinda horseshit game
Baldur's gate 3 is ass
Dark Souls on 3? And remnant 2 on 12???? Dark Souls 3 hasnt even a real Coop mode LOL. Laughably AI written list
Might want to put that text trough an AI, so it's at least readable.
they ranked it live together on twitch
I hope your problem is that you think Remnant 2 should be higher, because its co-op is incredible.
