10 Days to Finish Build! - Square Body K5 Blazer - Can We Make It in time?

- An invite to drive in the Old School '23 ride puts the 1985 K5 Blazer project into high gear as I push to finish this build in less than 2 weeks. It will see a lot of hard road and trail miles, so it needs to be a solid reliable ol' truck to keep up. Also need to be able to haul all our camping, cooking and sleeping gear!
The list of to-dos is long, and the time is short. Can I get it all done in only 10 days?
Brakes, Heat, Bumpers, Fuel Gauge, Headlights, Glass, 12V Power, Carpet, Seats, Interior , Dash, Navigation, Radio, Wheels, Tires and Exhaust all need to be addressed! Is there any way I can finish all that???

I knew I sold the K5 to the right person! I love what youve done to it and its amazing to see it come back to life! Great work!
Thank you Byron! Its been an awesome project to work on.
Nice k5 you have sir
Thank you kindly
Replace both of the door lock/un-lock mechanism, this will resolve your lock issue. I ran into this issue when I would close the door with it locked. If I locked it when the door was closed or I used the key no issue. Replace the mechanism. $65 per at Classic industries.
Ordered from locks for both sides and it fixed it right up. Thanks for watching!
It was a great video. Thank you so much
Vent window rebuild? Both of mine are trash and broken bolts. I also need that same topper glass you somehow found! So hard to find. I replaced everything in the tailgate window, which was fun lol
Rebuilt the vent windows in the next K5 video. And yes that glass was tough to track down. At least it wasn’t a slider. Those are unobtanium.

Great video , you do things that the average person can do. I like that. I was thinking about starting a U tube channel
Bondo, sand, paint
more like... sand, sand, sand, sand, it feels like the sanding never ends. lol
Can't wait to see it wheeling!
Keep watching! We take it wheeling!
Been watching since you got the blazer love to see how much progress you have made I have a single cab 84 and I want to start building it also
Thanks so much for watching! I have my eyes on another squarebody. lol
Great video!
Glad you enjoyed it
I have a 77 Blazer that is a good start to restoration and am wondering if y'all do project trucks like this for your show?
Yes sir. Would love to get a hold of a round headlight squarebody to work on.
I know a guy that can get that door open!
What is the shop that you got the glass? I can’t find any anywhere! I’d greatly appreciate it.
How does a setup like this do on highway and what not. I apologize for ignorance but ive been wanting a k5 for a daily. Kinda bored of newer cars. Been looking for a clean one for daily. How does it handle stuff like cruising and what not?
It cruises down the highway very comfortably. I’ve driven some that had loose steering that were a bit squirrelly but if they are set up correctly and running right, it’s a nice ride. (For leaf springs) 😂
If I was in your position, it would take me an hour just to pick which truck I was going to drive every morning.. how do you make it to work on time?
Good content! Just some friendly constructive criticism for future vids, its a little distracting when you keep looking at your own selfview, followed by fixing your hair and glasses constantly, really seems to derail your train of thought as well and takes you longer to get sentences out.
