The gas will evaporate quick and there isn't suppose to be grass there anyway so... It'll be fine.

What I was thinking too. I wonder if people still drain their crankcase on the ground too! "It came from the ground so what's wrong with putting it back!"

👍 and by the way there is a petcock on the bottom of the carburetor that will let you drain any leftover gas or junk drain out of the bowl

Well hmm what should I say. Taking the time to collect the gas would have been alot smarter. Not smart just letting it run out on the ground. Good job on pump rebuild get some gas will know how good you did but leaving tank empty not good it will rust. A fuel additive is needed for that tractor unless the valves have been upgraded I think. To me dont buy fuel that has ethanol in it over time if your not using it will collect water cause rust. Here we can buy non ethanol fuel that's what we use for all our gas engines. Your son looks busy keep a watch on him lol. Have a great day keep the good video's coming. Thanks

Congrats on the milestone! One thing in case you run into a leak, on the 8n, I have always heard you want to soak that cork gasket first to get it to seal. Seems like that should not be a big deal, but often those bowls can be a pain.

Thank you! It did start to leak but after a little bit its stopped, so I think you are right it just needed to soak.

Little word of advice when u brain gas like that or spill it and it drips down on those spark plug wires remember the spark when u start it don't mix with gas u will blow yourself set your tractor on fire so be awful spilling that gas!! Just a thought!

Good job👍 That gas petcock/sediment bowl is available from Steiner Tractor incase it gives trouble. Save time and money. Just put a trouble free part on. 👍. C.D. New Hampshire 🇺🇸. 1951 JD "A" ps. Add A few ounces of Marvel Mystery oil before adding your fresh gas. Helps to preserve the gas valve bits, adds some protection in the tank and carburetor against rust. Nice upper lubricant for the valve train. Best to fill the tank to the top to prevent moisture build up while it sits for long periods. 🇺🇸👍♥️😷

But putting a new part on would not make a video as good as this one.

And would be an additional $100

A funnel and a gas can would work to save the gas If only to wash parts..also the bowl did`t look centered when you tighten it up..
