    Been running the 28 nibbi for 6k miles on my hawk. It's been trouble free and a great carb. 28 is the perfect size for the clone motors we have. Great choice. The next mod I would suggest is the Nibbi Short throw twist throttle. #nibbiracing

      Anything with the same diameter should work if that's not available.

    The stock intake manifold between carb & engine is a tight fit to use a Nibbi. You must use ALL Nibbi parts for EVERYTHING! (how fortunate for them). For stock & mildly modified engines, go Mikuni.

    • @irishryder2470
      @irishryder2470  ปีที่แล้ว

      Still have the fakuni over all the nibbis. It's just full proof.

    There is also the PE28Fl 'flanged' version which uses the same 2 stud intake mount so you don't have to get the slip boot intake manifold.

      You should check the jets and make sure your running at least a 40/115-120 jet setup. Also check the float level this could cause your whole tune to be off.

      It starts now. Problem is, everytime it starts its on full rpm. When I turn on the choke rpm goes down. Idle screw does not do anything? Could it be my throttle cable

    • @irishryder2470
      @irishryder2470  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@danl5632 yes with the filter off make sure your slide is coming completely down. You will be able to tell because it will have a metal on metal clunk almost. Your throttle cable could be too short you may have to order a different size. I think I used a different cable from my pz30/vm26 mikuni clone.

    I got P28 for my trail master tm33 250. I dunno what jets to try first. Only video I saw, had a guy using 110 & 42… does that sound right??
    It’s a Zhongshan engine

    • @irishryder2470
      @irishryder2470  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes that sounds like a good starting point for the jets. If you have an open exhaust or any mods to the air box then I would jump up on the main to a 115/120. Better to be a little rich than lean when tuning. Then you can work your way back down.

  • @danl5632
    @danl5632 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Are the jets already installed in these nibbi carbs?

    • @irishryder2470
      @irishryder2470  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      They are installed but you may have to rejet depending on al the different variables that change you air fuel flow.

    Okay so I’m somewhat of a newbie. I have a brozz myself with a stoneman exhaust on it. I recently swapped the airbox for a cold air intake. I drove down the rode and my pipe was glowing red. I’ve learned now that I’m running to lean. Would having one of these carburetors fix that?

    • @irishryder2470
      @irishryder2470  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah a vm26 Mikuni clone would work best for a newbie. Easier to tune. I haven't turned the Nibbi yet but I know it will be more challenging. The Mikuni Clone is a direct bolt on and no need for other manifolds. You can go with the Nibbi but it's a bit more of a challenge to tune I've heard.

    Hi iv got a m2r rf160cc s2 bike , currently theres 26mm mikuni if im not mistaken , ots always ran lean and is just shite come to relise its a fake , orderd nibbi 28mm , will it fit

    • @irishryder2470
      @irishryder2470  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You just have to make sure you port match the head to the bigger diameter carb. If it came with a stock 26mm I would go with the 26mm nibbi. Unless you plan on doing more work than needed which I'm guessing you just want a better running carb. Not having to do work to the head or anything.
