I think the idea of a Scarecrow movie could work, as long as they include some scenes with Batman. Of course, Batman won't be the focus of the film, but if he had a few appearances, it would help people understand that it's a direct connection to The Batman universe. It would probably get more people excited to buy a ticket, as well. I would LOVE a Scarecrow movie. Especially set in The Batman universe. I really hope they go through with this, as long as it maintains the same tone and similar visual style.
9:17 I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: Scarecrow and Clayface would be perfect for a horror-esque “The Batman part 2”. Carlo looks like a monster but he is victim of a tragedy. Batman would have to be a symbol of hope to deal with him. Crane looks like a human but he is a sadistic monster. Neither Hope nor fear would work against him, forcing Batman to adapt/evolve once again in order to defeat him.
couldn’t agree more on Scarecrow, while there are so many exciting ways to go he really is a “no brainer” when it comes to fittingly perfectly in Reeves Gotham. just imagine Battinson getting brutalized by Penguin’s mobsters after getting exposed to Scarecrow’s fear toxin, and Robin debuts by saving Batman in the clutch-a la Batman Forever-so many possibilities with that direction.
Additionally it would be great to see something done with either Killer Moth, Maxie Zeus, or the Ventriloquist. Don't know if they need their own films, but there are so many great characters to bring out
Yeahh i always vouched for these guys. Ventriloquist could be genius. Imagine a strange little man who runs a gang but secretly talks with his doll and it controls him. So much psycho thriller potential
@@RoBoTrOnIc1001001 haha true. I imagine the doll straight up talking for him, ridiculing and threatening everybody who questions him, so in time people just treat Scarface like a real person and almost forget about Wesker
So often he is shown as merely a costumed guy with the gimmick of hallucinogens, but I am truly hungering for someone to portray him in all of his glory. To my mind Jonathan Crane is so proficient in psychology, the literature of fear, and the showmanship of inducing horror in subjects, that he doesn't need fear toxin at all, in fact he can scare someone to desperation by merely talking to them, by effect of understanding so well the innermost fear of anyone he is acquainted to. His backstory of being ruled by fear in much of his upbringing, forged him into a man that has conquered nearly all aspects of fear, leaving him an addict to feeling and inducing it in himself as well as others. He is truly the master of all things terrifying, rivaled of course only by the batman. The toxin should serve only to elevate his influence and make him so dangerous that godhood is almost within his grasp. He is not to be taken lightly and real consequences should follow the encounters he might have with the caped crusader. The audience as well should experience a serious amount of horror when faced with him, though it might take a genius to do him justice.
Right at the start of ‘The Batman’ Batman’s monologue says “Fear… is a tool”. a) I loved the BTAS episodes of scarecrow, seeing something like that as a scarecrow origin would be awesome b) whilst it will always be true for Batman, fear being a tool for a scarecrow as a counterpoint would be a fantastic counterpoint and helping Batman understand how he’s also hope for the citizens; in a similar vein for the “vengeance” arc of The Batman; also supports perhaps a Robin being a Son of Batman (if you follow the narrative from the Dark Knight Returns) of people trying to follow his example and Batman using that
Obviously the tone isn't set in stone but I do wonder if they'll go for The Batman's influence of realism but more fantastical than Nolan since the Scarecrow is a spin off. Or The Joker w/ a mature dark type of film. Something akin to DC Black Label. Excited to see where they'll go w/ the movie either way. Luv the vids Boba!
Both Reeves and Pattinson have talked about the importance of exploring Bruce Wayne/Batman’s psychology, and fear gas induced hallucinations would be a great way to explore that more for future films. I thought Scarecrow was really underused in Batman Begins, and there's a lot of potential for him to be the main villian in the second or third movie. Maybe even turn it into a psychological horror movie. I'd love to see someone like Rami Malek, or even Jamie Lee Bower, as Scarecrow in Reeve's Batman universe.
For some reason I think Joker made the drops when he says “one second you’re on top and the next you’re a clown” when could this Joker have ever been on top? Also the drops logo kind of looks similar to Jokers iconography but I also strongly think Johnathan Crane will take it over
I’d LOVE LOVE LOVE to see Jackie Earle Haley as Reeves’ scarecrow in the Batman universe… the dudes just a phenomenal and super underrated actor, his role as Rorschach was top tier and scary hearing that voice from the shadows, his role as Freddy Krueger in the reboot of nightmare on elm street which I loved him as the new Freddy so I guess u can use that as an idea of how his fear toxin hallucinations would be and again that voice he can do is really freaky to hear… I’d love to see it happen 🤞🤞 plus he’s also been responding to fancast if him fro the Batman but mainly for mad hatter
Scarecrow is one of my favourite Batman villains so I’m so excited by this, hopefully it leads to him being the main villain in a future Batman movie after it
A scarecrow film should be rated R and be a legitimate horror film. Maybe similar tone as Joker with some subtle references to batman maybe a single cameo
Hey Boba, love your content man. Here's an idea for The Batman 2. How about adapting a Scott Snyder comic called 'Gates of Gotham'. It starts off as an origin story for Gotham City and features a villain called the Architect aka Zachary Gate, a descendant of the Gate family who built bridges in the city in the 1880s. The story leads directly into the Court of Owls story and would make for great telling.
I hope they use Gregg Hurwitz and David Finch vol. 2 book as inspiration. Nolan's Scarecrow was good, but I would like to see a really unhinged Scarecrow. So much depth to Scarecrow. Can do so much with him.
I would like to see Scarecrow, Mad Hatter and Poison Ivy. All this using the molecules in the drops to create your own hallucinogen. One for fear, one for mind control, and one for paralyzing toxins. Batman tries to investigate this and during this investigation he encounters Hugo Strange and his unethical experiments in Arkham.
While the Star Wars comparison is well taken, we also have to consider what Sony is doing with Spider-Man’s rogues gallery. Venom is doing well, they have Morvious, and up next they are doing Kraven, even though they have the maim Spider-Man series. Bring them on 😀
Let's go! I remember the 90's cartoon when Batman faced Scarecrow and he shouted : "I am vengeance! I am the night! I am Batman!" To fight off the fear gas. I think he was like hanging off a blimp.
A lot of these rumors could surround the Arkham Spin or GCPD spin off so they're putting out feelers to see which characters to waste on small or larger roles. There's a lot happening between the Batman and the Batman 2
Arkham knight made me love scarecrow, oh man, scarecrows fear toxic is literally what a Ari aster film is like. There’s so many angels Matt reeves can take on this iteration
Superman & Lois was announced as a pilot in October 2019 and was ordered to series in January 2020. The series premiered on The CW on February 23, 2021. In 2023, the series was renewed for a fourth and final season.
For me Scarecrow was my favorite Batman character when I was a kid and still is today! I'd very much like to see him make an appearance in the next Batman, but we'll see?
Would love for this to be true and done properly in the vein of the reevesverse! I want a great Scarecrow horror film big time, and I don't even care if batman is in it or not, as long as they delve into Crane's character and bring out his terrifying potential
When I hear of spin off villain movies I just think of Sony with there 3 venom movies with no Spider-Man and the Morbius failure… along with the upcoming Kraven and madam web failures.. Batman is cool because of Batman.. give us Batman or give us nothing…
There is actually a way of injection for hallucinations I could definitely see scarecrow being one of the best and most realistic version of scarecrow and could definitely play as a psychological horror movie
I get what you're saying, but from a personal level, I have played the Arkham games, and watched Titans. So PERSONALLY I'd be disappointed if he was the main villain. The whole 'Batman facing his fears' thing has been done enough in my opinion. Mr Freeze however, has been criminally underused. As for a Scarecrow standalone film.... would that make money? 🤷♂️
I feel like any spin-offs should just be whatever tv series they do. Don't feel like a Scarecrow movie, or whoever else, really makes a whole lot of sense.
Imo they need to cover other villains at this point... scarecrows my second favourite villain after joker.. but we've seen to much of them we need the Ventriloquist, professor Pyg, Hugo Strange would be lit too..
I want Kodi Smit-McPhee, Toby Kebbell and Michael Adamthwaite to play Dr. Jonathan Crane/The Scarecrow, Basil Karlo/Clayface and Lazlo Valentin/Professor Pgy all three of these actors have worked with Matt Reeves in the Past with in various Matt Reeves Movies
I just want them to focus on the Batman films :c If it's a completely different team it's not so bad but still I'm not happy. Especially because I don't want people to get tired of this verse like they're getting tired of the MCU and the main Batman films to suffer from it. The first film was so special and unique and it should stay that way.
I think they should just make make a bunch of mini series for each villian they want to use. Not too long, but also not too short. And maybe this could lead up to a big 3rd Batman movie where all the villains take on Batman in Arkham Asylum. Sound familiar?
This scarecrow movie could be a backdoor into the Arkham asylum max show. The movie could show the orgin of Jonathan crane scarecrow. We could see arkham asylum in the modern day as we see him possibly as a new psychologist at arkham. We could get a Dr Hugo strange introduction in the movie that could be head of psychology there. There could be flashbacks that show Jonathan cranes orgins that blend with his modern day life. The movie could have a batman cameo. We could see Jonathan crane looking down at his office in a flashback from the first movie we see batmans batmobile enter arkhams gates and he exits to interagate the riddler from the movie scene. Robert Patterson could film a short scene as batman in that scene.
Psychological thriller directed by Scott Derrickson. Barbara Gordon as the final girl who spends the film trying to escape Scarecrow while under the influence of Fear Toxin.
But Boba I’m kinda concerned about something. how are they gonna keep the 2 Batman universes separate and not confusing. Are there really enough rogues for them to share and reinterpret? or will they keep the 2 separate with completely different rogues?
If the scarecrow movie happens...i want a mindhunter with crane being a psychietrist at arkham interviewing the other villains and using fear gas as treatment for the patients and revealing his dark self using fear to keep everyone under his control
I'm not sure how much I believe this rumor. I don't believe Gunn would let Reeves build out that much. Given they haven't even launched the new DCU versions yet.
I just hope they don’t turn Scarecrow into a justifiable anti hero? Sympathetic villain cool doesn’t mean he has to be another run on the mill Gary Stu
I would like to see Scarecrow coming in as the king of the drop heads working with Hush in a gang war against Penguin and Black mask. And add Robin and a new Lucious Fox.
Would much rather that all these villain spin offs are like one hour origins in the Arkham show where we have each episode be a different rogues gallery member
I really hope they don't use any of the overly fantastic, unrealistic villains. I don't even wanna see a robin just yet..I'm hoping they keep it grounded in 'reality'. If they absolutely g0tta use the fantastic stuff, well, Gotham is flooded..why wouldn't Killer Croc make sense?
Alright. This may have been asked but. If scarecrow uses fear toxin in the Batman universe, How do you think it's going to be administered? A gas, or injection? I personally think gas is visually appealing for him.
Hello Boba. After really thinking about how Reeves would do a Scarecrow movie, I have come to the conclusion that he'll be based on another real serial killer. My guess is he'll be a Charles Manson type villain leading a cult of fear toxin junkies doing Scarecrows bidding, spreading fear for whatever scheme he's planning. Then Batman has to lead the scarecrows victims back to hope.
I really hope there's no Robin. I want to see him developing more into The Batman, not focussing on a kid. He just realized he needs to actually be Bruce Wayne. He needs to figure out how THAT'S gonna work.
I desperately wish it could just be a movie franchise. Do 3,4,5,6 movies whatever, but it’s just exhausting to think there’s homework to do before I can enjoy the main line movies.
I'm Irish and we've had some great Irish Batman villains so far but I wasn't a fan of Cillian Murphys Scarecrow in the dark knight. Wanna see him done better...
Reevesverse is boring. A rip off of Nolanverse. Not impressed. I’m pretty sure Reevesverse is going to make Batman rogue’s gallery just as boring as the Batman movie. I hope not. I was expecting a rated R Batman movie similar to Seven or Saw where villains did actual crimes where a vigilante was needed. That would’ve been great for a slow burn detective story. But the film moved so slow and the Riddler’s crimes were just out of Nolanverse’s playbook. Matt Reeves stated that he was gonna out Nolan Nolan . He failed. I hope his next Batman film is exponentially better.
Dude, scarecrow is literally a dude with some chemicals and a mask / like he is not epic, he is not strong, he is smart and weird but for a second swing at the bat universe, reusing the main villain of one of the initial movies a decade ago is fucking lazy.
hahaha what? you seriously watched scarecrow in begins and thought "yeah thats the best we can do with him" Scarecrow is an even more interesting character then riddler yet Matt reeves had no problem making an amazing riddler and even made him feel like a horror character, now imagine what he would do with scarecrow . Scarecrow was also not the main villian and he was just Ra's al ghuls hired help lmao, he was literally written off with rachel tasing him and then we just see him screaming and riding away into the smoke.
Lame, lame, lame, lame, lame. We got him already, and yeah we got catwoman and bane already but they are so much more interesting. Why give this dude a whole movie? Boring.
I am really happy to see that Reeves verse is getting bigger and we are getting else world projects too in DC
Same here

He was a small fish working for the actual main villain of the movie.
@@geordiemc4571One could argue Nolan’s Scarecrow was lazily written.
No, I want a proper Scarecrow in a Batman movie.
Lame, lame, lame, lame, lame. We got him already, and yeah we got catwoman and bane already but they are so much more interesting. Why give this dude a whole movie? Boring.
I need this stuff so much right now, I can't wait man I need the distraction 🥲
