Crazy that no one is talking about Killer Croc. At the end of the first movie Gotham is severely flooded. A flooded Gotham is paradise for Killer Croc. Not to mention how scary and badass Killer Croc could be in this Batman universe.
I'd be all for that, brilliant mention. Killer Croc in a big budget version of like the Arkham City type croc cleaned up a bit would be epic and 100% a horror type element would be bring in new types of fans to the theaters too! @luke1397How would Solomon Grundy though be introduced in this universe? Definitely would watch that movie day ONE with either of those two as a big bad.
Mr. Freeze is a definite yes for me. In The Batman part 2, we need a villain that clashes with Bruce’s notion of what being a hero means. Vengeance was the main focus of the first part, and I think that theme of identity will play well in the sequel, as Bruce learns how to balance his ‘Batman identity’ with his ‘Bruce Wayne identity’. Since he has already embraced his heroic/hope side as ‘Batman,’ in my opinion, the absence of 'Bruce Wayne’ will continue cause harm in some way. Perhaps Mr. Freeze could play a role in helping Bruce realize that 'Bruce Wayne' is just as important to Gotham. Bruce Wayne's lack of involvement in Gotham could be what causes Victor’s situation. I think Mr. Freeze's tragic backstory would be the best opportunity for Bruce Wayne to exercise his empathy and to reconcile with the idea that he can be heroic by simply being Bruce Wayne as well as Batman.
While Freeze could be interesting, I fail to see how they can make him remotely realistic. Scary, sure. Tragic, indeed. Dark, goes without saying. But realistic? A cryogenic frozen yet still alive wife and a man that can only survive in subzero temp? no, cant see how that can be build into their "realistic take on Gotham" scene. Villains I see could fit into their "realistic Gotham" is B listers such as Victor Zsasz (him targeting young women and his connection to the Iceberg lounge makes him a perfect candidate), Dollmaker (Kidnap children and makes them into dolls), Calendar man (fairly obvious candidate) and Mad Hatter.
I’m one of the few that doesn’t want Clayface in the Batverse, I just don’t know if the golden age version will resonate a lot of fans. Scarecrow or Mr Freeze would be the best picks for PT 2’s villian I can just see the amazing potential.
They never claimed that Matt Reeves Batverse wouldn't have fantastical elements. The first movie simply had a less than fantastical villain. And even if that does turn out to be the case, there are ways to make Clayface compelling, AND grounded.
@@HonestJohn_01.19 I think what people are referring to when they say he won't be doing fantastical elements is his answer to weather or not Superman could make an appearance in the Batverse. “You mean if it could? Is that what you’re saying? I mean, if something like that did happen, because I was very careful about … To me, what I try to do is take … I did this in the Apes films too, and even Cloverfield, this idea of taking the one fantastical element and then have everything around it, so it’ll be as grounded as possible, so that it could feel … I want it to feel emotionally real and to make everything feel very believable. In this movie, even further I think than what I did in those films, I tried to find the practical, believable version. If suddenly in the Batman world, you discovered that there was an alien that was Superman, there’d be a lot of shock. I mean, people would have to say, oh my God, and maybe that would be the one fantastical element.” It really does seem like he's trying to shy away from, or atleast tone down the fantastical elements of Batmans mythos. But as you said, there are ways of pulling off compelling and grounded villians who are usually not so grounded.
I personally would love to see the Mad Hatter. The mind control aspect from BTAS in a more grounded setting would be fun. Using hallucinogenic drugs to control people or causing random suicides as he’s “testing” wouldn’t be too far out of the grounded setting. Then Scarecrow reverse engineers it later for his fear toxin.
5 villains I really want to see in the Batman universe are: 1. Scarecrow: honestly he would just fit perfectly in this universe. I also believe he has the potential to be the main villain of the story (I still love the Batman begins version but I think there was a missed opportunity there). 2. Mr. Freeze: the only fantastycal villain that could work imo, with the right casting and portrayal he has the potential to be one of the best villains we ever saw. 3. Deathstroke: I barely see anyone talking about him and I don't know why. He might be the best villain that never made it to the big screen. I do think however that James Gunn might be saving him for the DCEU, which would make sense but I think he could fit in the Batman universe too...just imagine how epic the fight scenes would be. 4. Profesor Pyg: So underrated... Honestly a duo with him being a side villian and Scarecrow as the main one would be perfect, especially in this dark realistic universe. 5. Two Face: I usually want to see new characters but this one would also fit like a glove tbh and Matt Reeves can honestly make a very compelling story with this character. If they decide to do Two Face I want Jake Gyllenhall to be the actor who plays it. Honorable mentions: Mad hatter Scarface and the ventriloquist (but he would fit more in The Penguin series I think, but would be cool to appear in The Batman as an easter egg) Btw I'm not really a fan of Hush because in my opinion he is way too similar to the Riddler. (especially with the appearence). Even when I saw the first movie I thought that Paul Dano's riddler is more of a combination between Riddler and Hush. I'm not really a fan of Clayface either because I don't think the monster version would fit in this universe and I don't really want the golden age version either.
Even Arnold Schwarzenegger's campy/ slapstick portrayal of Mr. Freeze was Schumacher's Batman's best & most sympathetic villain. That alone speaks volumes about the character's depth. I'd love to see him truly done justice on screen. And with Reeve's at the helm, that's now more possible than ever.
I keep thinking on how Clayface could work in this universe. Colin Ferrall's makeup as The Penguin would be my inspiration. Mike Marino was able to change the way Colin ferrall looked so well that it took people a while to recognize him after that first teaser trailer. I imagine that clayface could just be a guy who is extremely good at making masks and transforming himself to look like somebody else.
@@hexum7 an unknown couldn't have pulled off the Penguin the way Colin Farrell did. He played the role to the point many people didn't even realize it was him. That's why they greenlit a penguin show to further develop the character with a terrific actor in Colin. To answer your question his best performance was in The Banshees of Inisherin. One of my favorite movies to come out recently and Colin Farrell does his best work in it along with the other actors/actresses.
Make Clayface chock full of nano machines that make him change his appearance. An accident makes him have the melted, blobby look and he's able to control them for a period of time to change his appearance to whatever he wants, then loses control and reverts back. One thing I always wondered, why is Mr. Freeze "Mister" instead of "Doctor". He was a Dr. Before the accident, seems darn disrespectful to not call him Dr. Freeze...lol
I’m actually extremely excited for Clayface and Pyg. I love this darker tone of Reeves’s Batman, and I really like the second one to take that way further. It just looks too good in a Batman film. And I could see Clayface (golden age version) to be absolutely terrifying. Of course, professor pyg would be disturbing as well…so I’d love this duo. Hush…not as much because we’ve already gone that route in the first film.
I think a good actor for Mr Freeze would be Arnold Schwarzenegger. He has the physicality, and he can be a good actor when he needs to. I know it’s sort of out of left field, but I think it could work
Mr Freeze is so iconic but also just a great story. He is not a quote on quote villain he is just a man who loves his wife and has come down on hard times and poeple as well as the enviorment around him pushed him down a path of fighting for his wife in a medical sense but also a criminal sinse. He doesnt wan't to hurt anyone. and 90% of the time he only keeps to himself. But people wrong him so often & get in the way of his mission to save his wife that he just comes off as a villain.
Would love to see Mad Hatter in the villain role, or Professor Pyg. Maybe even Flamingo. But if it’s MH they would have to create a deeper back story to maybe make him more capable as a super villain. Maybe make him a physics professor working on a super-bomb
I think mr freeze being set up through the movie and the main baddie at the end but in the beginning of the movie we see how far Batman has come and the difference in his fighting and stealth changed as he fights a professor pyg and maybe even firefly and have Brendan Frazier return for the role since we never saw it
i could see that but just without pyg. i like the combo of having an arsonist and an ice villain in the same movie. (there was an ep of the 04 batman show like that) It could be called the batman fire and ice or something cheesy like that
@@JD_1776exactly and good point about pyg not being in it with the whole theme, since they’d probably already have an Arkham scene or 2 setting up the next movie team up of villains and I hope to god they have Batman get trapped in Arkham and fight his way out for the 3rd
would love to see a depiction of Hugo Strange played by someone like Giancarlo Esposito who can switch the entire mood of a scene or his entire character in an instant, like when Walt meets Gus for the first time in Breaking Bad for example, as the last film ended with Selena leaving Gotham and leaving the impact on Bruce’s morality that was mentioned in the video, as well as Bruce putting his vengeful and rageful attitude on the shelf to help the struggling people affected by the flooding, i think it would be really interesting to delve deeper into the psychological state of Bruce and what better way to do that than to have him be studied and obsessed over by Strange with Strange discovering that Bruce and Batman are the same person and building on that dynamic. I know that Strange isn’t as much of a physical threat to Bruce as he is a mental one so i could also see Strange bringing in someone to compete physically like a Bane who could be a mix of the TDKR Bane and the comics version, inhaling a dangerous steroid like gas through his mask to give him a physical edge as well as increase his focus and reactions to match Bruce’s training, a great casting for this Bane would be Dave Bautista as he does have the size and build for this hybrid Bane design and the acting ability to display emotion physically as well as experience as a pro wrestler, harlingen back to Banes luchador origins and Batista has expressed interest in the role of Bane. This muscle character could also go to a Deathstroke or Lady Shiva but I feel as if Bane fits this role better and could build a rivalry between Bane and Batman leading to Bane wanting to break him and a potential sequel with Bane as a fully main antagonist, likely inspired by the Knightfall comics. - kinda went off the deep end there lol but love the videos and would love to hear any thoughts on this idea
What if scarecrow and clay face are both grounded but during a scene where batman is influenced by scarecrows drugs he sees clayface like he is in the cartoons fan service
I also voted for Mr. Freeze, via the TH-cam poll. He's been my pick from the second I walked out of the cinema after watching the film. I allowed myself to think up a whole scenario (depending on the timeframe) where Victor and Nora may have been victims that were caught up in the current flooding. Even if that weren't the case, I could still see Fries being a cryogenics expert as a Wayne employee, frustrated by Nora's cancer diagnosis. In a desperate, anguished bid to save his wife, he has Gotham's female citizens kidnapped for the purposes of experimentation. This is where Cryogenic chambers can be used to further the horror element of the film. But, as others have said, it's precisely because of Fries being a sympathetic character that he works to help along Bruce's psychological evolution. Fries' primary motivation for doing what he does for his dying/dead wife is his own *UNdying* love for her. If done right, it could be a poignant theme in Reeves' more grounded, crime saga interpretation of Gotham, further highlighting the very human struggles of every day Gothamites.
I really don't know about having Clayface as the villain of Battinson pt 2. I just really don't think he fits into the much more realistic tone of the Battinson verse. I think he feels way more at home in the more fantastical Batman series like the Arkham games or the various animated shows. In that same vein, I think some villains, like Two-Face or Penguin can seem a bit wasted when put into the more fantasical Batman media, since in the end, they're mostly just guys that want money. So for Battinson pt 2, my personal picks for the Villain would be: Scarecrow (My favourite Batman Villain) Deathstroke Two-Face Two-Face could be good as a rising power in the crime world after the events of pt 1. It could also set up maybe a rivalry between Penguin and Two-Face, maybe encourgaing Penguin to help Batman more. Deathstroke is just a plain badass in every sence of the word. We've seen the Riddler challenge Batman at an intellectual level, so now it would be awesome to see someone challenge him physically, and not just someone how is a big brute, but rather someone with an equally sharp mind to Batman, but with the physical prowess to stand up to him. It could also show us another side to Batman, given that he and Deathstroke are not so unlike, they just chose different paths. Scarecrow is probably the most underrated Batman villain. Both of them use fear as a weapon, but in entirely different ways. Batman uses it on wrongdoers, letting them spread his fear via word of mouth, like what we saw in the intro of Battinson pt 1. Scarecrow does is by becoming fear itself. His toxin makes turns your own brain against you as it conjours up EXACTLY what you fear. Not to mention that at the end of pt 1, Batman talks about needing to become more than just fear for criminals, but hope for the good people of Gotham. The in steps Scarecrow to replace Batman as fear, only this time, it's the good people who are subject to his fear.
Mr. Freeze in Matt Reeves’s “The Batman” trilogy is one of, if not the most exciting prospect as a main villain ever for me. Once we saw the overall tone, style, and attention to detail in the first film, I’ve been so extremely excited about the possibility of Reeves and co. tackling that character. I have a couple of favorite fancasting choices-like Joel Edgerton-but I trust this team completely. I just hope we get freeze in part 2 or part 3 as the MAIN villain.
I agree that Mr Freeze and Scarecrow are the 2 I want to see most, though controversially I actually have always enjoyed the Golden Age Clayface, sure it's not as cool as a giant Shapeshifting blob Monster but he's still an interesting character Also what I'd like to see is like how The Batman had Penguin, or how The Dark Knight had Copybats and Batman vs Scarecrow I think it would be fun to see maybe a small scene of him stopping like the Ventriloquist, Dollmaker, or Jane Doe just a smaller Villain that probably wouldn't be big enough to be the big bad but still would be awesome to see, or maybe like Penguin and Catwoman their someone he encounters a long the way So for example say the Villain is Mr Freeze and Batman gets word of a break in and assuming it's Freeze robbing the place he shows up only to find it's actually The Ventriloquist and Scarface just something small like that, I don't know maybe that ruins the pacing of the movie I'd just like to see smaller Rogues that aren't big enough to carry a movie still show up
this stuff isn't truly complicated it writes itself. It's crime detective where the characters are a little bit more eccentric. They have all their distinct theme, you get to be creative with their backstory and motivations. There doesn't necessarily have to be one big bad. You can have multiple villains running around. but that's why it worked so well as weekly theme, one episode or couple episodes could feature a villain then the next episodes could be different villains.
Mr. Freeze would be, in a way, a natural progression. First movie tackled corruption through the police and mayor’s office. Second movie could focus on corruption in a corporate level while also looking into the Bruce Wayne public persona.
A third movie could tackle the corruption behind the Gotham courts and Arkham Asylum through a big breakout, the introduction of DA Harvey Dent, and exploration of Martha Wayne’s legacy.
That seems pretty unnatural to me. Why would all 3 films focus on corruptions in different areas of the city? It’s pretty clear that after the first film, Gotham is healing. The whole corruption thing is over and done, the secret’s out, making another 2 movies about it is just redundant at that point.
I would love to see a more modern take on Mr. Freeze. All these villains would be great though. But I feel you could totally do a grounded Ivy. Like yeah, she wouldnt command plants but she could be a horticultural scientist. An unsuspecting femme fatale teaming up with Scarecrow. She helps him make the toxins. Maybe play her like Talia from DKRises, where Bruce/Batman trusts her, even working with her a bit never knowing she's actually Ivy. She could make hallucinagions, poisons, truth serums, and much more. Ivy and Scarecrow in a more modern Batman would be an incredibly cool movie.
I think scarecrow is the safe pick. Freeze in my opinion could either be amazing, or lackluster. He would be my #1 pick, but I think scarecrow would be a guaranteed hit with no risk. And if he had been on the pole killer croc would be my first pic I’d love to see him.
After near enough 30 years, I think Victor deserves another shot at the big bad on the big screen. I do hope Tommy Elliot shows up at some point and maybe have him be a supporting villain in the third movie, or maybe even set him up in an episode or two of Penguin.
Hush would be a cool idea. Somebody who want revenge against Bruce Wayne. Of a mixing of clayface and Hush. Making clayface more of a serial killer. Wearing other people’s faces.
The riddler was already incorporated to be like hush already. He even wrote hush on the wall. And he duct taped peoples mouth. And he looked like hush. It will not be different enough from the riddler
My first choice is Scarecrow. Have the movie be called "The Batman Part 2: City of Fear." Scarecrow basically shows Bruce why he shouldn't lean in so much on fear, and have Bruce confront his own fears head on. So he becomes a better Batman. My second choice would be Mr. Freeze. Have the movie be called "The Batman Part 2: Heart of Ice." Mr. Freeze shows Bruce why he shouldn't look at everyone with a black and white filter. Then Bruce learns to help the public by helping Freeze find a cure for Nora, by giving him the resources from Wayne Enterprises. You could have Mr. Freeze in Part 2. Then have Scarecrow in Part 3. Or vice versa.
Very nice video and overview take of the polls, of possibilities, and of your view. I feel also that whatever Reeves chooses will probably work. But if I had to choose, would probably be either Scarface and his ventriloquist, since that’s such a creepy horror trope, and maybe next would be something like Mad Hatter or Scarecrow.
Good Batman: TAS episodes to watch are "Heart of Ice", "Deep Freeze" with the story continuing on in Batman and Mr. Freeze: Subzero, Cold Comfort from The New Batman Adventures that continued from the aftermath of Subzero and his final appearance in Batman Beyond.
I would really like to see a version of azreal like a side villain that could help at the end of the movie but pop up through out and Bruce learns how to not to push people to far as he takes him in as a sort of sidekick to him so that when he takes in Robin he doesn’t make the same mistakes
Toby Jones as Mad Hatter- obsessed with his own “Alice”. A creepy villain. Be a nice contrast to Mr Freeze’s justified obsession with finding a cure for his wife
*Thanks for the new The Batman Part 2 discussion video, #**#BobaTalks**!* ;D *Like you said, we shall have to wait and see what Matt Reeves decides who will be the next Big Bad or Bads in The Batman: Part 2 !* 🤗 *If it is Mr. Freeze, it would be possible he temporarily teams up with Scarecrow or Poison Ivy! We shall see!*
Idc what ppl say I want joker to be the main villain for a movie maybe the 3rd Ik people don’t want the joker but he’s just so iconic with Batman plus last time we saw a joker and Batman movie where joker is the main villain is over 10 years ago
Great video 💯 love all the takes….like you said I trust Matt & will be cool with whatever he chooses….with the venom possible element at the end of the first film….Bane would be awesome….regardless we need to get Court of Owls in the 3rd film 💯🤙 Really hope Rob comes back for the 3rd film
They should use multiple villians. Like in the comics. Make his world feel lived in now that his Batman is more established. I want to see more Catwoman. I deff want to see The Joker. The Ventriloquist. Mr. Freeze. Poison Ivy. Two-face or dent should be introduced.
Mr. Freeze for sure! I also would expect to see some 'Continuation of Penquin's Story' in the HBO Spinoff they can show his 'Rise to Power' & in Batman 2 we get to see him in Control of Gotham's Underworld!
I’m a huge killer croc guy and I’d love to see a version similar to the one in the Arkham games (especially where the city flooded at the end of the first movie, a perfect setting for him)
My issue with Mr Freeze in the Matt Reese movies isn't that he's fantastical, just naturally iverpowered for the universe. Any form of the ice gun is extremely useful and powerful, and his suit is highly durable. This version of Batman isn't as strong as other versions who have tangoed with Mr Freeze, and he's also not as smart. I don't see an adaptation where this version of Batman could defeat Freeze in a fight, with no way to damage him, no clever way to stop him, and no way to get in close. Any adaptation that this version of Batman could beat, to me, seems like it wouldn't feel like a truly honored Mr Freeze fight. I think Hush is much more connected and set up in this universe. We already know that Joker, Riddler, and Catwoman are in the universe and the Hush plot line heavily features those characters. A modified storyline of Hish would be great for this Batman.
As always, excellent video! However, I remember you once commented that Matt Reeves stated that this saga will be a trilogy. I didn't see this being reported anywhere. If eventually that's not a reality and there's an opening for four or five films in total, that's definitely what I want most. Pattinson's Batman, intentionally punctuated in the first one's script, is still not an example of a detective... he makes many mistakes and poorly develops his power of deduction in an investigation. I would therefore like this to work in all films, until his skill as a detective and intelligence become an unquestionable fact. Furthermore, this is still a very immature Bruce Wayne who has no self-knowledge, psychologically; This should be equally laborious gradually. I also find the idea of a JASON TODD terms very exciting, so that he can help with Bruce's personal and narrative development, enhancing his imbalance, seeing the child being killed in a hypothetical fourth film, at the end of this feature. It would be great to see the Joker adapted as a truly ruthless, intelligent, and thorough person, knowing how to hurt Batman and how to instigate a cat-and-mouse hunt - all while having fun. We would see Batman even more unbalanced, fully understanding his brutality, and, in the end, after so many deaths and destruction, he would need to choose between killing or serving justice, demonstrating moral resilience and arresting the Joker. How about we see Leslie Thompkins as a psychologist? Bruce reuniting with her in the third film...
Q&A: With Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum being introduced in the first film what do you think the likelihood of Mad Hatter appearing are? Tackling his darker aspects would be an interesting and heavy topic.
I always thought the implication was that Reeve's Riddler was Edward Elliot's son, and was an amalgam of both Riddler and Hush. He was left in the orphanage after his father was murdered and both this and his interaction with Bruce as a child led to his hatred of the elite. His costume in The Batman is way closer to Hush than it is to the traditional Riddler outfit and as far as I know, comic book Riddler has never really had an obsession with Bruce the way Hush or movie Riddler did.
I think we will only be able to speculate about Part 2 when we learn what Reeves wants to do with Bruce, and what kind of story he wants to tell next. The Court of Owls and a realistic version of Poison Ivy and the League of Assassins seem to be steps that would push things forward - at least in my understanding. I would mention Hugo Strange, but I have a feeling he will play a huge part in the Arkham TV show as a "villain to the villains" sort of thing, and he might as well be the narrator of that story.
Im kind of disappointed its not the joker like we saw in the end of the first movie but i guess they gotta build it up somehow. Im gonna lose it tho if they do some major tease in part 2's ending lol
Batman(Robert Pattison) Villains list 1.Mr.Freeze 2.Two Face 3.Man Bat 4.Clayface 5.Mad Hatter 6.Ra Al Ghul 7.Court of Owls 8.Ventriloquist and Scarface 9.Scarecrow 10.Black Mask 11.Poison Ivy 12.Bane 13.Sewer King 14.Clock King 15.Calender Man 16.Killer Croc 17.Hugo Strange 18.Hush 19.Catman 20.Firefly
I think Hugo strange would be really cool. Especially after seeing a little bit of the Arkham asylum at the end of the first film. We also could see him create some of the other villains by experimenting on them. Like maybe we could see him create killer croc and him crawling around flooded Gotham.
1:51 That's crazy! Clayface would be awesome! Go watch Smokin Aces. That one assassin who makes the masks and disguises, that's Clayface. It takes Batman to make the connection that all of these crimes are from the same person. If it's not him, I'm just going to Fan Edit Smokin Aces and The Batman together.
I think a problem some people think is that there will only be one villian mentioned in the sequel, In the Batman we got Falcons, penguin, riddler and cat woman- while the riddler was the main catalyst we will defianlty probably get more than one villian cameo in part two- my guess considering this movie has been stated to have a more emotional focus so our main spot light contenders would either be A.mr freeze because of his villian motivations paralleling Batman's issues with his parents or B. Scarecrow with his ability to manipulate would pose a emotional Catalyst for Batman to overcome the realization about his parents - with maybe side cameos from Hush, clay face or another rouge ie: mad hatter possibly two face or court of owls ect seeing as a lot of fans saw the riddlers cards in the first movie as Easter eggs to other rouges if this is for sight to villains Matt reeves plans to add to his universe or just fun details I'm not sure but I'm more focused on what mix of charecters would make the most since- I think most likely part two will have Mr. Freeze taking riddlers position in the spot light while scarecrow has a supporting role but that's my take on what I think is most likely to happen
I think the biggest issue with bringing hush in is that Thomas Wayne seemed not to know Edward Elliot, making Thomas Elliot and Bruce not be childhood friends if we’re going with that Edward Elliot is his father.
I'd love to see this turn into a 10 movie run with all of the the iconic Batman villains highlighted.. Unfortunately, this seems unrealistic for obvious reasons. If there's only going to be a couple more films in this series, the two I'd really want to see are Hush and The Court of Owls.
I honestly think Clayface as we know him today would fit perfectly in this universe, Reeves’s Gotham feels gothic inspired & the greatest gothic villains are all reflections of what we fear & what can we fear more than a loss of self & identity. Not to mention that Clayface is another rather sympathetic villain who Batman tries to cure.
I would love Freeze as the main antagonist with minor background villains or other characters being introduced. Such as was done with Penguin and Catwoman in the first film.
Azrael would be interesting. Gotham is a disaster zone and Batman going public could inspire copycats like John Paul Valley. He carries the vengeance torch when Bruce is trying to go beyond that, creates conflict and an opportunity for Bruce to examine how he's gone about this and what he needs to change. Definitely sleeker suit with more mobility and a need to up his game to beat Azrael. Theres something there.
I would love them to keep it grounded and make Two-Face the villain. I think it would be great if this one will have a legal thriller/courtroom drama kind of vibe.
Isn’t it obvious? The main villain is going to be Harvey dent and the Penguin. They are doing an entire show to set up penguin as the villain and Harbhajan would fit perfect in the current universe.
I don’t think they’re setting Penguin up to be the main villain. That’s why he’s getting his own show. To expand on a character the movies will only briefly touch on. He’ll definitely play a role going forward and will probably be more important than he was in the first film, but I don’t see a world where he’s one of the main villains.
Scarecrow, mad hatter, or hugo strange would be done really well by Matt Reeves. also like the idea of Reeves portrayl of ivy. black mask would be interesting with how they have set up penguin and falcone in the first one.
I think we'll be getting quite a few villains in the next installment. In the first one we got Riddler, Catwoman, Penguin and Falcone. I would love to see villains that don't get a lot of attention in secondary roles. Black Mask, Great White Shark, Scarface, Solomon Grundy, Firefly. The list goes on. Personally I want Bane as the main villain in the second movie
I want to see a villain that hasn’t been on the big screen before except with scarecrow and freeze, freeze for obvious reasons but I do find a plot with scarecrow as the main villain in this darker Batman movie style
I could see mr. freeze as the main villain and croc as the side villain. Gotham is flooded and i feel like it would make complete sense for a crocodile creeping around and pulling people into the water to eat them
with the city being rebuilt i lowkey want like an arkham city typa deal, can bring in lots of characters while clayface can still be the main villain and could be 2 batmans in arkham city
I wouldn’t mind another grounded mystery serial killer riddler type movie with Bruce juggling ZAAS or like PYG as stated in the video. While they are on a killing spree and throw in penguin in some form of a role as well which will may or may not happen since his own shows coming out. Then you could tease joker in a major way that would intentionally let the audience know that he is definitely being the major antagonist in a 3rd batman movie for this standalone Batman universe if it were to ever happen. Because the first one shows us Bruce is only in his second year of dawning the cowl as on his dossier or notebook that reads “project etc YEAR 2” ( can’t remember exactly what’s written besides that.) That’s why I think it would make sense as he’s not fully competent to take on major villains yet and that’s the reason why I think in my opinion those antagonists make sense for this more unexperienced grounded Batman in this standalone Batman series as apposed to hush who wasn’t mentioned much or if not at all in the first film🤘!!! That is just my opinion I am not a comic guy more or less into the movies but know a fare share of Batman lore. Feel free to reply and give me your insight into what I said or ur opinion on who should be the antagonist for the next Batman movie 😎.
for the Batman part one/hush comparison, it’s more like they threw the Riddler into the long Halloween storyline. but also, they used a lot of elements from hush in that as well, there’s two sides to this is all I’m saying.
Crazy that no one is talking about Killer Croc. At the end of the first movie Gotham is severely flooded. A flooded Gotham is paradise for Killer Croc. Not to mention how scary and badass Killer Croc could be in this Batman universe.
You nailed it. They could do a lot with croc, especially with the darker tone this Batman has. They could even bring in some horror elements
Just a brute that looks fantastical
Yes either him or Solomon Grundy.
I personally don’t think croc could be a main villain. I would like to see him as a tough guy working for the main villain though.

If they adapted clayface like they did in the animated series, that would sell tickets 🔥
@@Real_Zaydenthey wouldn’t do that. The monster version of Clayface is too fantastical in the Batverse, but they could save it for the DCU.
I mean, people would have to say, oh my God, and maybe that would be the one fantastical element.”
It really does seem like he's trying to shy away from, or atleast tone down the fantastical elements of Batmans mythos. But as you said, there are ways of pulling off compelling and grounded villians who are usually not so grounded.
@@HonestJohn_01.19 i think that it has been stated at some point by the director that it would be more grounded
He’s not main type of villain for a big movie film. An episode on tv show sure.
Agreed Mad Hatter would be good or Scarface the Ventriloquist would keep the gangster vibe going
@@Humanipathicif done right he definitely could be ur only sayin that cause he’s not been done for a movie before
@@christohidis nah I just don’t think character is interesting enough or has the story and threat to help carry a film.
I'd love that
5 villains I really want to see in the Batman universe are:
Honorable mentions:
Mad hatter
Scarface and the ventriloquist (but he would fit more in The Penguin series I think, but would be cool to appear in The Batman as an easter egg)
Btw I'm not really a fan of Hush because in my opinion he is way too similar to the Riddler. (especially with the appearence). Even when I saw the first movie I thought that Paul Dano's riddler is more of a combination between Riddler and Hush. I'm not really a fan of Clayface either because I don't think the monster version would fit in this universe and I don't really want the golden age version either.
Court of owls
What about Killer Croc?
Great choices, Scarecrow, Mr. Freeze and Deathstroke are also my top 3 choices for the next main villain.
Mr Freeze should be saved for the DCU, i think the Villains should be Mad Hatter or Professor pyg.
Even Arnold Schwarzenegger's campy/ slapstick portrayal of Mr. Freeze was Schumacher's Batman's best & most sympathetic villain. That alone speaks volumes about the character's depth. I'd love to see him truly done justice on screen. And with Reeve's at the helm, that's now more possible than ever.
its going to be poision ivy, who is Bella Real’
@@mattduncilReal Change = Climate Change
what is it about reeves that makes you think he would use a high concept character like freeze?
I keep thinking on how Clayface could work in this universe.
Colin Ferrall's makeup as The Penguin would be my inspiration. Mike Marino was able to change the way Colin ferrall looked so well that it took people a while to recognize him after that first teaser trailer. I imagine that clayface could just be a guy who is extremely good at making masks and transforming himself to look like somebody else.
That’s good idea
@@hexum7 Maybe because he's a great actor?
@@hexum7 A bad movie discredits him? Shallow way of thinking man
@@hexum7 an unknown couldn't have pulled off the Penguin the way Colin Farrell did.
1. Harvey Dent/ Two Face
2 Thomas Elliott/ Hush
3 Jonathan Crane/ Scarecrow
4.Roman Sionis/Black Mask
5 Pamela Isley/Poison Ivy
I would love to see what they could do with Mad Hatter, Calendar Man or Victor Zsasz.
I know it’s sort of out of left field, but I think it could work
May as well get George Clooney as Batman while we're at it

Mr Freeze is so iconic but also just a great story. He is not a quote on quote villain he is just a man who loves his wife and has come down on hard times and poeple as well as the enviorment around him pushed him down a path of fighting for his wife in a medical sense but also a criminal sinse. He doesnt wan't to hurt anyone. and 90% of the time he only keeps to himself. But people wrong him so often & get in the way of his mission to save his wife that he just comes off as a villain.
Do you mean “quote unquote”?
Would love to see Mad Hatter in the villain role, or Professor Pyg. Maybe even Flamingo. But if it’s MH they would have to create a deeper back story to maybe make him more capable as a super villain. Maybe make him a physics professor working on a super-bomb
i would love to see deathstroke as the main villain as well
Yes definitely a great choice
Scarecrow deserves to truly shine as the big bad on his own. Still really want Pyg and Hatter in this world! We’ve gotten enough jokers.

What do you think of that idea happening along with the plans setting up the 3rd movie @BobaTalks
would love to see a depiction of Hugo Strange played by someone like Giancarlo Esposito who can switch the entire mood of a scene or his entire character in an instant, like when Walt meets Gus for the first time in Breaking Bad for example, as the last film ended with Selena leaving Gotham and leaving the impact on Bruce’s morality that was mentioned in the video, as well as Bruce putting his vengeful and rageful attitude on the shelf to help the struggling people affected by the flooding, i think it would be really interesting to delve deeper into the psychological state of Bruce and what better way to do that than to have him be studied and obsessed over by Strange with Strange discovering that Bruce and Batman are the same person and building on that dynamic.
You need a poll with much more villains, like: Poison Ivy, Talia, Ra's, Court of Owls, Killer Croc, Bane
What if scarecrow and clay face are both grounded but during a scene where batman is influenced by scarecrows drugs he sees clayface like he is in the cartoons fan service
Aren’t you tired of Grounded Villains and Heroes from the Bat Verse?
@@lisaroberts8556no.
Cool analysis. I voted for Scarecrow.
its going to be poision ivy, who is Bella Real’
Wow, this is actually a very good plot.
@@faizansiddiqui7793 Thanks! 😊
Mad Hatter would be cool
I really don't know about having Clayface as the villain of Battinson pt 2. I just really don't think he fits into the much more realistic tone of the Battinson verse. I think he feels way more at home in the more fantastical Batman series like the Arkham games or the various animated shows.
In that same vein, I think some villains, like Two-Face or Penguin can seem a bit wasted when put into the more fantasical Batman media, since in the end, they're mostly just guys that want money.
So for Battinson pt 2, my personal picks for the Villain would be:
Scarecrow (My favourite Batman Villain)
Deathstroke
Two-Face
Two-Face could be good as a rising power in the crime world after the events of pt 1.
Do not want Hush in part 2!! That was riddler in the 1st one
Excited for this to get rolling again, this page was my go to everyday during the Batman pre production thru release
I’d love to see Grundy but I doubt it. The ventriloquist would be a funny opener villain
Would love to see Scarecrow or Hush in this universe I think they fit really nicely here
I know we’ve seen scarecrow a lot in the games and past movie but for a third film with Robert Patterson and scarecrow would be cool
I know Hush and clayface have been the most rumoured villains for the film, but for me they genuinely would be a perfect duo of villains to get
personally I want Mr Freeze and Clayface or Scarecrow but Hush/Clayface is a great pick.
I want Scarecrow to be the villain
@@themindofmalleave Mr Freeze for the DCU
its going to be poision ivy, who is Bella Real’
imo Hush and Black Mask is a better duo, seeing as both Tommy Elliot and Roman Sionis are supposedly childhood friends of Bruce Wayne.
I agree that Mr Freeze and Scarecrow are the 2 I want to see most, though controversially I actually have always enjoyed the Golden Age Clayface, sure it's not as cool as a giant Shapeshifting blob Monster but he's still an interesting character
Also what I'd like to see is like how The Batman had Penguin, or how The Dark Knight had Copybats and Batman vs Scarecrow I think it would be fun to see maybe a small scene of him stopping like the Ventriloquist, Dollmaker, or Jane Doe just a smaller Villain that probably wouldn't be big enough to be the big bad but still would be awesome to see, or maybe like Penguin and Catwoman their someone he encounters a long the way
So for example say the Villain is Mr Freeze and Batman gets word of a break in and assuming it's Freeze robbing the place he shows up only to find it's actually The Ventriloquist and Scarface just something small like that, I don't know maybe that ruins the pacing of the movie I'd just like to see smaller Rogues that aren't big enough to carry a movie still show up
this stuff isn't truly complicated it writes itself.
I can only imagine how terrifying Reeves would make Scarecrow. That said, give me HUGO STRANGE
@@ImTheReverse It could focus on Bruce/Batman healing different parts of Gotham as it goes on, slowly establishing the status quo we know of
I would love to see a more modern take on Mr.
And if he had been on the pole killer croc would be my first pic I’d love to see him.
i know i kinda said this on the poles comments already
Court of owls
Totally agree
Yeah, I would also prefer to see what they could do with Mad Hatter, Dollmaker, Calendar Man or Victor Zsasz.

With the city flooded, imagine Mr. Freeze freezing the water, literally encasing entire areas of the city in ice.
They should use multiple villians. Like in the comics. Make his world feel lived in now that his Batman is more established. I want to see more Catwoman. I deff want to see The Joker. The Ventriloquist. Mr. Freeze. Poison Ivy. Two-face or dent should be introduced.
One of the best aspects of Batman’s Rogues Gallery is how all the villains interact. TDK, Arkham games, BTAS, and Gotham did this well
I want a fun, classic villian. My 5 are Joker. The Ventriloquist. Mr. Freeze. The Court of Owels. Two-face. Poison Ivy.
Court of Owls aren’t classic. They debuted in 2011.
The Imposter storyline would be epic. Tied in with Hush, linked to the reporter killed by Falcone and Clay face as a Chameleon type character.
Including Edward Elliot in name, and having “HUSH!” in the riddlers video kinda feels like clear foreshadowing
I just need me an entire horror movie on Scarecrow being the main villain. One of my most wanted Batman movies.
Q&A: With Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum being introduced in the first film what do you think the likelihood of Mad Hatter appearing are? Tackling his darker aspects would be an interesting and heavy topic.
Were those twins supposed to be Tweedledum and Tweedledee? I haven’t heard that at all
I always thought the implication was that Reeve's Riddler was Edward Elliot's son, and was an amalgam of both Riddler and Hush.
I think arkham asylum isn't part of the reevesverse anymore but for the DCU if i read that right some time ago?! 🤔
Pretty sure the Arkham series is cancelled
Im kind of disappointed its not the joker like we saw in the end of the first movie but i guess they gotta build it up somehow. Im gonna lose it tho if they do some major tease in part 2's ending lol

I had the thought the other day but Professor Pyg would make an amazing villain for a future installment in this universe

Well, now we know you have a glorious head of hair…and the info you give us fans is also amazing.
The problem with introducing hush so early is that we don't have a big enough Rouges galley for him to manipulate
Can you do anther video on what is going on with The Batman 2, I do believe it's still filming this year but probably in summer
I think scarecrow should be the main villain he would work well
I explicitly want a rogue who traditionally has powers as the big bad or secondary because I want to see how they work more grounded.
I can see both professor pyg and clayface being the villains and taking on a Frankenstein and his monster role.
I would love to see Mr Freeze the most . Would not be opposed to Clayface though. I think that would be amazing to see.
I tried writing a batman 2 movie starting scene were penguin and mr freeze were the main villains instead of just one and it was so much fun
I think a team up with Hush and Scarecrow could be great
for the Batman part one/hush comparison, it’s more like they threw the Riddler into the long Halloween storyline. but also, they used a lot of elements from hush in that as well, there’s two sides to this is all I’m saying.
