  • A really good video of New Orleans Saints favorite Son Archie Manning. Early footage of Archie as he discusses his trials and frustrations during those days as well as commentary from other NFL players.

In regards to their careers, Roger Staubach once said, “The only difference between Archie Manning and I is that the Cowboys drafted me and the Saints drafted him”

Archie Manning, of his 35 NFL wins, 11 of those were comebacks: that practically 1/3 of his win total. Good thing he had ability & guts, otherwise the Saints would've won even less.

At 2:15 Eli Manning looks exactly like his dad!
Now I understand why Archie didn't want his son's to go to bad NFL teams. He sacrificed his ambitions for Superbowls, his sons don't have to. And case in point both of their sons are Superbowls champions.

It seem he was a great QB, he was the bestin the NFL, it's just no players were that good for him.

Archie Manning was a really good QB. Because he played on two shitty teams at the time doesn't get nearly the credit or respect that he deserves in my opinion. Archie gets forgotten unfortunately. Credit Archie for being Loyal and staying with the Saints. He also didn't have any other premier talent around him on the offensive line, or other great players on his team.

At 57 years old, two QBs stick out to me as a kid. Archie Manning and Jim Plunkett.
Both those guys were unfortunate in many ways, but in the end I think people realized how great each guy was.

@@enlightenedwarrior7119 MANY QBs of that era threw a lot of ints. And Archie had the bad luck of a crappy o line and crappy receivers. Too many people automatically blame the QB for a pick, when it's often the result of bad team play.

So he was a great quarterback it's just the rest of the team sucked so they cheered Archie on and though the Patriots team is better than Tom Brady is and yet they always cheered him on instead of the rest of the team what is wrong with people nowadays

I'm sorry, but you can't say the teams around him were bad for 14 years in his career.... He lost his last eight games of his career on two different teams. I believe the speed of the game was too much for him, and he never adjusted. He never played against black elite talent or black talent at all until he got to the NFL, and I think that was a shock to him. He was not very good at reading his keys, and he had several opportunities. They could have drafted Doug Williams, and the rest would have been history. He was right in your backyard and homegrown, oh, but he was black, so that wasn't going to happen. But we want to keep celebrating this hillbilly loser in terms of wins, and i'm not going to let anybody slide on this. Yes , he could throw, and he could run , but he couldn't do much else at the NFL level. He threw a pretty ball, and he was very athletic, but he didn't win. The same people supporting him still believe. The South never lost the war and that they would rise again.🤣🤣foh
