According to the autopsy the actions of the officer did not cause Floyd's death. We need to put emotion aside and look purely at the facts.

He was restrained. Handcuffed. One in law enforcement should know the difference between someone resisting, and someone struggling to breath or dying. If someone were chocking in food while being arrested, the action of not assisting them while in police custody, falls on the law enforcement. "The prone position restricts ventilation and diminishes pulmonary perfusion. In the setting of a police encounter, metabolic demand will be high from anxiety, stress, excitement, physical struggle, and/or stimulant drugs, leading to metabolic acidosis and requiring significant hyperventilation. Although oxygen levels may be maintained, prolonged restraint in the prone position may result in an inability to adequately blow off CO2, causing blood pCO2 levels to rise rapidly." That means the officer killed the person.
@@dougkenny6548 He went to jail for his role in Floyd's death. And that knee on the neck thing, was not permitted in that situation, btw. He had his knee - his whole body weight - on Floyd's neck for over 9 minutes. It was the cause. The knee pressure caused asphyxia due to neck and back compression.
I don't know what autopsy report you think you read, but it wasn't Floyd's.

I'm from Finland and was not taught anything about US history in school and I could still have answered this question when I was 12.
If you think it was to end slavery it’s incorrect that wasn’t the cause it was the effect nobody in power of the north at the beginning was attempting to free anyone they didn’t care one way or another until they realized it was the best and easiest way to keep support for the war… initially it was just like most conflicts tax tariffs and regulations it became about slavery as it progressed…

As an Australian, I'm staggered at these people's ignorance of their own country's history. Surely they would have learned the history of the civil war in grade school and from their own parents?

American students don't/can't pay attention in school. Past 6th grade, hardly any subjects can hold our attention. It's not always the case but the majority of the time high school kids are more interested in things like Stanley cups than history.

It IS taught in our schools. Along with the Revolutionary war, World Wars 1 and 2 and all the others. But even if it wasn't taught in schools, have these people never seen Gone With The Wind? Or Gettysburg? Or Glory? Or any of the countless movies that are set during that time? The education system didn't fail these people. These people have failed themselves.

There were always basic thoughts of Citizenship tests for voting to have basic understanding of government and processes. Heck there are politicians who couldn't pass basic citizenship tests.

Depends on where she lives there may not be a lot of black people. I just looked up the demographics of the town I live in and we have 1.76% blacks. I looked up the town my hunting land that I own is and it’s 99.15% white. I don’t think she meant anything racist against it.

To be fair I looked up the demographics of the town my house is in and we have 1.76% blacks. I also looked it up for the town I own 80 acres in and it is 99.15% white (no joke I was surprised as well) Depending on where she lives seeing a black person may be rare.

Is it? Would you be able to answer? Probably one of the most complex and debated questions in our history that historians write thousand page books on. These type of videos just fuel hate and ignorance among Americans. Does my mechanic need to be a historian to have a view about his taxes or what he'd like his children to be taught in school? @@kylemurray8662 What a load of crap. People write thousands of pages on events, not the reason for it. The Southern states made very very clear, that they were seceding, to preserve slavery, and immediately enshrined slavery in their new constitution. How is that "complex"?

So had slavery been the main issue Lincoln simply could of said ok slavery stands, the southern states would have said cool and everyone would have went home. There were alot of complex issues and not everyone is a historian.

@@moabman6803 dude what it's easily the most important event in US history throughout the entire 19th century, and considering this country only been around for ~2.5 centuries, that's a pretty big part of our history! It's also by far the deadliest war we've ever fought -- and that's in absolute numbers not even accounting for relative numbers, then it's even bigger!
@treyshaffer Doesn't matter. The USA has been involved on a lot of wars. The revolutionary War was over 100 years ago. On top of that we are flooded with modern news non stop. We grt more news in one year than someone in the 1800s got in their lifetime. Revolutionary War takes a back seat for most people. Especially to the world wars, cold war, Vietnam, Iraq, etc.

The UK were not protagonists in the Barbary Wars, they may have done a little bit of stirring during the War of 1812 but that’s pretty much it. But regardless of how much involvement the UK may have had in it, it still wasn’t pivotal to either UK, Great British, English or Scottish history and so is not something I was taught in school. On the other hand, the American Civil War was a pivotal part of US history and something that it seems mind boggling that anyone from there and over the age of about ten can’t articulate why it started.
You have completely missed the point I was making in my original comment, just assumed that I’m from the US and then went out of your way to insult me and double down on YOUR misunderstanding.
My original point was that in the US it is mainly the history of your own country that is taught for your entire school life and yet the vast majority of the people spoken to in this video couldn’t or wouldn’t say what caused the Civil War…which like it or not from an outsider’s perspective seems a far more pivotal point in your country’s history than the Barbary Wars. It is after all a part of US history that is taught in countries all over the world…I was taught about both the US Civil War and The War of Independence when I was about eleven.

This is not precluding a class of voters from casting their ballot because of their skin color or economic status, its based on their overall intelligence. These young people only vote because a celebrity urges them to. The best voter is an informed voter.
