I think this question has to have been asked before...but how many "old things" do you have lying around exactly ? Even if just an estimate ? I ask this, but I don't know if I'd want you to finish them faster or keep them on hand to deliver these sweet, sweet uploads once in a while.
It's so that volume, duty cycle, etc. can be manipulated quickly. Since there is only one instrument, all that has to be controlled directly within the track itself instead of the instrument data, if that makes sense
