In the 90s Tim Follin did some rock and roll renditions on the Snes for Rock and roll Racing. Now Vinyl cheese do these on NES chip. How would you name the game?
Only after a year I realised how you used the DPCM channel here, no wonder this cover sounds so full with such a low ammount of channels available!! Not using it for the drums but instead to simulate what seem to be pulse waves is a very strong power move and I feel like I can't praise it enough.
This is a great version, it uses a ton of nice tricks to get it to sound really good. I like the use of the dpcm to add more to the square leads along with the other stuff such as the triangle drums alongside a base line
As you made some covers for the Genesis, maybe you should try to make your own musics and submit it to Catskull electronics. They announced an YM2020 album and are making a contest!
Nah, you're actually correct. The vowel sound is emulated through pulse width modulation of the square wave that plays the lyrics. Just the vowels though.

Yeah its done with the triangle, you can still drums with triangle and make it sound as if bass line never stops if you do it correctly
Yeah. Just make sure to not use more than 5 frames on the triangle kick or the bass will sound delayed.
