Hey! Zaki you're right!. I thought that both SSD were NVMe but Air 12 has a SATA SSD so... If Win7 installation don't find the SSD drive, I suppose the NVMe driver won't fix the problem. It will need another specific driver for this unit that you can insert into the W7 installation in the same way
I was able to install Win7 on the Air 12. Hola!
Saludos

Another user had the same problem using this utility under windows 10. Could you try it under another Windows 7.based computer? Check this thread: communities.intel.com/thread/103485 On the other hand, we discussed here that the xiaomi air 12.5 version seems to use a SATA SSD unit (non-NVMe) so it would be possibe to install windows7 without second step of this tutorial. Could you confirm that? Can you see the drive in a simple installation of windows7 (just step1)? Thanks in advance!
I don't know why this method doesn't work in some computers. I think some of them have problems with DISM command. Try to use the guide followed by Joao Afonso: forum.notebookreview.com/threads/guide-installing-windows-7-on-an-nvme-ssd-from-a-usb-3-0-thumbdrive.783921/ or try the utility from other computer :)

OK, after trying MILLIONS of ways to get W7 installed on my Samsung NVMe drive, I found that MSI has the only working solution for me, and it is mega simple ! You will need: - MSI W7 Smart tool - W7 iso file Fucking simple. Simply run the MSI W7 Smart tool, select the W7 iso file, select to add USB, NVMe and iRST drivers. Then select your USB target flash drive. MSI then makes a bootable USB disk with NVMe drivers. All the fucking bullshit I had to do for fucking 2 days trying to install W7 on this Samsung 950 drive. Nobody except for MSI decided to make this simple tool, Not Intel, with their incomprehensible technical note, not Microsoft who should have included the NVMe drivers standard in the downloadable W7 iso. I guess that MS tries to make this stuff as difficult as possible, so ppl will not try to install W7 anymore. So, I think MS is telling everybody that they are not allowed to use the NVMe drivers or whatever. In fact, the Reddit poast about this subject has a not working link to the Samsung drivers. Anyway, I might have gotten a bit crazy, because how on earth is it possible that such a small missing driver can cause such problems, and so many post on internet with EXTENSIVE DIFFICULT explanations, all not working. (except for the solution of MSI, which is childish simple) My next mobo will be MSI, not Asus.
do you remember which laptob or mobo you downloaded the tool for/from. It seems there are many versions of msi's tool and most of them only do the usb part.
it only supports windows 10. you cannot use a nvme ssd for windows 7. many companies just doesn't support the drivers. you should just buy a ssd and use that instead or you have to download windows 10 in order to use the m2 ssd.

Oh ok thanks. I thought maybe the Air 12 won't have this issue because it has a SATA SSD and not an NVMe SSD like the Air 13 does.
For anyone wondering, here's what I had to do to avoid errors and driver issues:
-Set BIOS mode to Legacy
-Mount ISO on USB with Rufus using BIOS+UEFI-CSM scheme
-Include x86 and x64 AHCI drivers from Intel's AHCI: F6 Floppy Disk Utility for AHCI in the image using the Windows USB 3.0 tool (in the same way this video includes the NVMe drivers)
-Boot to USB and install normally
I'm glad you finally got it. Thanks for sharing the info!
Hello,
This tutorial only Works for Windows 7?
I am trying to do it on Windows 10 and it gets stuck on the "cleaning up mount directory" every time on the last step.
Thanks!
Have you tried just install win10 from original DVD/image? I think Win10 support NVMe drives. It has a native driver. At least I could install win10 in a Xiaomi Mi Air 13 from original DVD.
Yes. i tried to install win10 and it worked but i want windows 7. Anyway i managed to solve it.
I follow this guide forum.notebookreview.com/threads/guide-installing-windows-7-on-an-nvme-ssd-from-a-usb-3-0-thumbdrive.783921/
and now i have the windows 7 installed on xiaomi air 13!
thanks anyway
hahaha sorry I misunderstood you. I'll test the software under win10. Thanks for the advice!!! and enjoy your xiaomi =)
I also tried the intel usb creator for windows 10 but it gives an error (its on the same page for download). With the guide that I refer earlier it worked flawlessly.
thank you
Hola!
Saludos
@@ugeroolz Dale, gracias por tu respuesta!
Muchas gracias
Anyone knows if there is a performance difference between Windows 7 and Windows 10? :)
Bruh windows 7 and vista just load up together wth
esses drives funciona samsung sm961 128gb?
yesss
Amigo el Samsung nvme drivers sera compatible con el Western Digital black?
deberia funcionar. Si no lo hace tendrías que buscar sus drivers específicos y meterlos en la iso del mismo modo que los samsung en el video
Focus dude!
I tried following this tutorial to install window 7 on a xiao mi air 12.5. But during installation using the window 7 USB 3.0 iimage creater, it got stuck at the "cleaning up mount directory" part.. help?
Another user had the same problem using this utility under windows 10. Could you try it under another Windows 7.based computer? Check this thread:
communities.intel.com/thread/103485
On the other hand, we discussed here that the xiaomi air 12.5 version seems to use a SATA SSD unit (non-NVMe) so it would be possibe to install windows7 without second step of this tutorial. Could you confirm that? Can you see the drive in a simple installation of windows7 (just step1)? Thanks in advance!
i am using a window 7 based computer.
I don't know why this method doesn't work in some computers. I think some of them have problems with DISM command. Try to use the guide followed by Joao Afonso:
forum.notebookreview.com/threads/guide-installing-windows-7-on-an-nvme-ssd-from-a-usb-3-0-thumbdrive.783921/
or try the utility from other computer :)
so i swap over to another laptop, and it works. but during USB boot, it says "secure boot failure"
Try to disable "Secure Boot" option in the BIOS > Security menu. F2 to enter BIOS menu.
Put "Boot Type" to Legacy too
Someone tried on 970 EVO PLUS or 970 PRO NVMe ? Is it work ?
Thanks man! but it doesn't work for me! i can install windows 7 on 960 evo but when it completes installation and reboot, after booting windows, it shows a blue page and restart!!! what can i do? please someone tells!!!
Take the USB drive out when it reboots
@@Donnaya137 nope, it's too early to take out USB drive after 1st reboot. And, it will not work anyway.
You need to skipstream windows updates into iso/usb before patching for nvme. Or you may get blue screen on reboot. And the installation will not go further.
does this work on my corsair m.2 mp510 or its only wotk to samsoung m.2 ?!
did you get an answer?
@@UUser1337 unfortunately no im using Windows 10 right now
Cool. ...cool.
How did you get Nvidia driver working? I tried several times, I did whole Windows updates, installed framework 4.6.2, etc but Nvidia driver still report error¨
Download the latest driver for Nvidia homepage.

Quick question, are all the drivers working on Windows 7? There is this Driver pack from Xiaomi but some people wrote that a few drivers are only working on Windows 10 (en.miui.com/thread-318018-1-1.html)
Would be great to know if you got all drivers to work on Windows 7 :)
Not all of them will work. Just Chipset, WiFi, Dolby and maybe audio driver or bluetooth. I'm not sure. You can download the rest from these links:

Okay great. And you got everything working with these drivers? Is
Windows 7 running good and would you prefer it over Windows 10?
Yesss all hardware are working fine. I prefer W7 because my other computers are running w7 (home and work) and I had a spare original license haha
I almost forgot this hotfix for ACPI:
hotfixv4.microsoft.com/Windows%207/Windows%20Server2008%20R2%20SP1/sp2/Fix459309/7600/free/475790_intl_x64_zip.exe
Okay great, didn`t know about that hotfix for ACPI :) Also a friend told
me about the drivers for the Samsung SSD that made the reading rates
double at his Air 13. You can find them here under drivers
www.samsung.com/semiconductor/minisite/ssd/download/tools.html
I am still not sure if I should run Win 7 oder Win 10 - for further updates Win 10 seems to be the better alternative, but I dont like all these privacy problems that come with Win 10 :/
Hey just wanted to let you know that your tutorial worked great and got Windows 7installed in a few minutes! Everything is running great. Just the Mi OSD driver for the hotkeys is not working - did you get them to work? I heared from others they installed them as well and the Mi OSD app is running but nothing gets displayed
Годнота!
So only works for people with THAT SPECIFIC nvme ssd
GREAT lol just great
Not working wih Samsung PM981. So sad.
No wonder, the PM981 is an OEM Product, not meant for the consumer. There aren't any drivers available, neither can you get support for it.
@@ThisIsTenou The latest driver works for older OEM drives such as SM961 or PM951 as W7 boot drive. PM981 is the latest in OEM line can work as W10 boot drive though. Preferred W7 because in W10 my Z77 chipset Intel USB3.0 will only run at 2.0 speed so got my fingers crossed waiting for next INF driver update hope can run W7 on PM981.
Hi, anyone can help me to find drivers for ssd kingston a1000 240gb?
Try MSI Win7 Smart Tool utility. It adds universal NVME driver, not Samsung only.
For those who need never drivers like for samsung nvme 970evo
www.station-drivers.com/index.php?option=com_remository&Itemid=353&func=fileinfo&id=4205&lang=en
OK, after trying MILLIONS of ways to get W7 installed on my Samsung NVMe drive, I found that MSI has the only working solution for me, and it is mega simple !
You will need:
- MSI W7 Smart tool
- W7 iso file
Fucking simple.
(except for the solution of MSI, which is childish simple)
My next mobo will be MSI, not Asus.
do you remember which laptob or mobo you downloaded the tool for/from. It seems there are many versions of msi's tool and most of them only do the usb part.
Anyone uses Dell NVMe? Cant find any drivers for windows 7 64 bit
it only supports windows 10. you cannot use a nvme ssd for windows 7. many companies just doesn't support the drivers. you should just buy a ssd and use that instead or you have to download windows 10 in order to use the m2 ssd.
You need to use universal NVME driver, not Samsung one. Add universal NVME driver using MSI Win7 Smart Tool.
@@dannydorrito2315 Not true at all.
I hate these lazy kind of videos, they always leave you with more questions than when you started!.
HA HA HA . . . 2 "simply steps" :-D
2 steps🤔 wtf🚫😡
2 "SIMPLE" steps 😅🤣
All of this for windows 7/NvMe? By the time you was half way finished i had windows 10 installed on it no problem...
Too bad Win10 sucks.
