Hi you are bang on buddy.....nothing wrong with the car i started with that then a small van then finally a lwb van at last!! Room 😊, but yes be and look professional and you are treated that way and it is a service we are all providing not just the elbow grease. Brilliant video mate cheers 😁.....keep your van clean too it speaks volumes, for me the cab is my office and the rear is my workshop and shows the customers you are professional 😊

Hi Ashley. I was listening to a podcast a couple of weeks ago by a high end carpet cleaner and he made a good point. He said the higher he priced jobs the cleaner the carpet was when he arrived at the job. 🤔
Squeaky Clean Dave Yeah, that’s interesting. So those people looked after their carpet in the first place I suppose. It’s probably the same people who tidy up before the cleaner comes.😃👍🏼

I had the same price structure for years, then I realised that my fuel bill was growing.. so I put £5 on every job, I had over 50% of my customers leave and use the man in a car lol... took me over a year to rebuild my customer base, but infact now i have a better customer base who understand running costs..
cns worx Lesson learnt. I try to have a fairly regular routine for price rises, so my customers expect it and are used to it every year or two. In fact I’ve been using this change of approach as an opportunity to also put some prices up.😃👍🏼

How to justify higher prices: don't.
You can't have everybody as a customer. If a potential customer thinks you are too expensive, they can use another provider. Set a price for your time and stick to it.
T D I suppose what I mean by justify, put simply, is really just being professional in your approach and fully explaining to the customer what will be included in your service.😃👍🏼
Nice advice. I always try to visit to give a price, then customer are more likely to go with me. It always seems to take a few hours to clean a conservatory roof.

Lot ppl here in the uk liverpool.... still expect to pay peanuts minimum charge should be around the £12 mark .... I have leads coming in if Facebook soon as I say £12 every 4 weeks all frames sills doors are cleaned on every... they fire back my last window cleaner was only charging £6 with the same system

paul hopkins It depends what you charge I suppose. But generally I do find it more lucrative. Pressure washing kit can be more expensive to buy and maintain though, and is more seasonal. Window cleaning keeps me going all year round.😃👍🏼

A smart van doesn't mean a good job. If we quote on line the client can't see our van or equipment. First impressions are the key. Either on phone or face to face. I always ask the client what sort of price they had in mind. Or what their ceiling is. I live in one of the richest places in England. Woking in Surrey. One day you may be doing three bed semis. The next day 10 bed four bathroom three studies etc. Pricing can be tricky. But I guess £60 per hr would be near. Good vid.

How much would you charge for a 3 bed semi detatched house maintenance clean every 4 weeks if you don't mind me asking? Good vid by the way some good points on a very interesting and differing section of the job.

No such thing as a bad job just a bad price I always go for £50 an hour,if I give a manager in a restaurant a price and he says he can get it done cheaper I say I can eat in a restaurant cheaper than this but is it better,I never price a job to get it if they dont like my price let them get it done cheaper.
window cleaning That’s true, I don’t mind doing an awkward job if I think it’s a good price. Sometimes people say their last window cleaner was cheaper, but maybe that’s why he stopped turning up, because he was doing the job too cheap.😃👍🏼

Hi there, if you are VAT registered, do you give your price + VAT or including VAT, or do you include VAT but not mention VAT at all in your quote? I've only found one company that gives the price + VAT. We've just started giving the price + VAT simply so the customer can see the lower quote price, rather than a higher number. What are your thoughts please?
I don’t currently charge VAT but yeah, I think why not show the lower price and the VAT price on top. It highlights to the customer that you are a professional business that will do a professional job.😃👍🏼

Employing staff is a nightmare , I have 15 members of staff and no one will do a job as good as yourself because they don’t have the same invested interest . If your making a nice living just stay in your own ! Yours 24 years in ..... grey haired stressed and very tired 😑 😂👍🏼
