Tips from someone who plays on short life span: -always have your sims doing something -do what you can to get reward traits from childhood so that they can move through their careers faster -don’t get attached Also Dylan is going to die in less than a week. I believe the elder, adult, and ya life stages are a week. Teen might be too. Babies are just one

I played a short lifespan legacy challenge for a while and I found that the lifespan was not calculated with toddlers in mind... And also, it's super possible to end up with a bunch of orphan teens bc their parents died of old age.
I feel like if my fiance texted me 'Congrats on the new addition to the family' after i gave birth to his daughter, I''d laugh so hard. Like get me a man with that sense of humor.

Then, you have to build the shell and furnish the house with what you picked out, not being able to go back to purchase other items and needing to use everything you pulled out. Further Info: *Choose your time constraint based on the size of shell you intend to make. 3min for a relatively small house, 4min for a normally sized one, 5 for anything above. You CANNOT change the decided size of house after the shopping phase has ended, regardless of how much furniture you lack of have in excess. *During the shopping phase, you can select anything from the build/buy catalogue. If you want more than one of an item, you need to duplicate/pull out as many as you want. *Swatches are finalized when the time runs out *If you want a higher difficulty, windows/doors can also be selected during the shopping stage *After the time is up, take as long as you want to build the shell, add wallpaper/flooring, and furnish it using ALL the items you picked out in the shopping stage *Landscape is separately timed (1min), but you cannot arrange it until time is up. Hopefully this all leads to an interesting build~

I always forget to give my sims thermostats because I've never once lived in a house with central air. Here in the PNW ghettos we use box fans in the shadiest window in summer and space heaters in winter, so I tend to just let my sims also suffer the temperature.
Playing sims 4 I learned that buying early in the game 'big pile of presents' and opening them everytime the cooldown drops can give you a lot of great items (including HD TV, microwave, some furniture etc.). It's great for extra cash when you're in need of simoleons and you can't get promoted fast enough. One pile of presents per sim, and before I even get to the last package the winter comes to and end and blue granpa gives me even more presents. ^^

It's actually possible to max out ALL of the toddler skills in 2 days. Just spam the giant plushy for Communication, Play Inside the Dream Home Decorator tent for Imagination, Play with an adult for Movement, Watch another sim for Thinking, and have a grown up potty train for Potty. It takes a lot of attention, but it IS possible.

Don't get attached is the biggest tip. I play sims I like on long lifespan and the sims I'm kinda meh about I play on short.
