This is a Single Hose portable AC. When it spit hot air, fresh air will come from outside. But that fresh air is again the hot air. So compressor will be ON all the time which leads to higher electricity consumption.
The solution is to buy a dual hose portable AC which doesn’t have this issue. I have been using a dual hose one for almost 1.5 years. But not so regularly. Is is really good.

Portable A/c will never work in 100% closed room. 60% energy is wasted. Compared to split a/c the cooling is significantly less. Only one benefit is in open spaces it will work basically like a fan giving off cool air.
No i won't agree to it...i am Using it in my bed room and i use it daily..it superb cooling and have cutoff too

@sivadascu4735 Yes its true. Portable AC has very less efficiency if it is a single hose. It takes the cool air from the room generated by the ac to cool the compressor and removes that air outside which reduces the amount of cool air . A dual hose portable ac is very better as it takes air from outside to cool the compressor.

1000or1200 രൂപയാ ac ഇൻസ്റ്റല്ലേഷന് രണ്ടു പേർക്ക് (technician, helper)കിട്ടുന്നത്.ലാഡ്ഡർ കൊണ്ട് വരാത്തത് വലിയ കുറ്റമായിപ്പോയി. ടൂൾസ് വാക്കം പമ്പ് ഒക്കെ പിടിച്ചു ബൈക്കിൽ വരുന്നത് തന്നെ കഷ്ടപ്പാടാണ്. ഇനി ലാഡ്ഡർ അതു ഫോൾഡിങ് ടൈപ്പ് ആയാൽ പോലും നടക്കുന്ന കാര്യമല്ല.ചേട്ടൻ പറഞ്ഞപോലെ ഫുൾ സെറ്റപ്പിൽ വരണമെങ്കിൽ 4വീൽ വാഹനങ്ങളിൽ വരണം.നഷ്ടമാണ്.

Not efficient at all. Maybe your view of cooling is different from mine. I had to sell this and buy 1 ton split. Split gave better cooling than portable. The plastic pipe dissipated radiant heat to the room and therefore cooling was bad.
The air coming out will be definitely cool, but it doesn't cool the room efficiently because the plastic tube is not thermally insulated and it's very noisy.
